CALDWELL COLLEGE COUGAR PRIDE

Cougar Pride is the official booster club for Caldwell College

Athletics. Cougar Pride provides Cougar fans an opportunity to get

involved and play an active role in supporting Caldwell College Athletics.

All of the financial support generated by Cougar Pride will be used to

enhance the athletics programs at the college as determined by the Cougar

Pride Executive Board.

Caldwell College’s 12-sport athletic department is a full member of the

NCAA Division II. An increased commitment is necessary for the Cougar

programs to compete at this higher level. Cougar Pride will allow

supporters to assist with this commitment as our athletics programs strive

for excellence on and off the playing field. Cougar Pride is a key

component in the athletic department’s vision to develop an external

branch of Caldwell College Athletics.

WHY COUGAR PRIDE?

To increase our commitment to a degree completion program for

student-athletes who have finished their athletic eligibility.

To enhance the student-athlete’s college experience.

To renew and nurture the relationship with our student-athlete alumni.

To create increased visibility and exposure of the College’s athletic

department through events such as alumni days, Homecoming and the

Athletics Hall of Fame Dinner.

Tournament Schedule

11:00am-12:45pm– Registration and Lunch

11:30 AM– Driving Range Opens

1:00 PM– Shotgun Start (scramble format)

6:00 PM– Cocktails, Dinner, Awards & Prizes

BRUCE

GALLAGHER

Bruce Gallagher was an assistant

basketball coach at Caldwell

College for six years before

passing away suddenly during the

summer of 1998. Well-liked by

his fellow coaches and players, Bruce began his New

Jersey coaching career at Montville and Nutley high

schools. He became an assistant coach under Mark Corino

at Bloomfield College for five years before replacing

Corino as head coach in 1988. The two were reunited in

1992 at Caldwell, where they helped the Cougars win

three CACC Tournament titles and advance to the

program’s first three national tournaments. In addition to

coaching, Bruce taught History at Nutley High School for

many years. An excellent coach and an even better person

and friend, Bruce played an integral role in building the

foundation of the men’s basketball program at Caldwell.

The College will donate a scholarship in honor of Bruce to

a Nutley High School student attending Caldwell College.
