Documents required:

1. Original and copies of dependents passports

2. Original and copies of civil id both, the dependents and you (as their sponsor)

3. 3 (+1 extra just in case) photographs with a blue background (as specified by the ministryof interior)

First thing is to pay the govenment health insurance.

Documents: dependent's photo + dependent's civil id copy + sponsor's civil id copy

Go to the health insurance office located behind the Mubarak Al-Kabir hospital inHawally / Jabriya

Stand in the queue to get your documents approved and collect your token number

I had gone in the evening after work, and they stop issuing tokens at 5:30pm

sharp. So make sure you get there before that.

When your number is called, handover documents and insurance fees to counter staff.

Fees: KD 40 for adults; KD 30 for kids; KD 1 for insurance card.

The counter staff will give the health insurance card + receipt

Take this receipt to the 'Stamping window' to get the official stamp .

Next is get the residence stamped. May I state that when I went, Hawally Passport(Immigration) Office was very efficient and quickly processes documents.

Go to the typing office located just behind the Hawally Passport Office in a small prefabshed.

Typing fees: 750 fils per residence renewal form(s).

Documents: dependent's photo (2 nos) + dependent's civil id copy + dependent's passportcopy + sponsor's passport copy + original health insurance receipt (stamped)

The typist will fill the form(s) and attached the photo and the documents.

Sign the bottom of the document under 'khafeel' (sponsor)

Go to the Hawally immigration office

Show the documents at the entrance. If your documents are in order, you will be given atoken number.

After entering, go to the right and then the left which will lead to the main hall where thiswork is carried out.

Go to the counter where is your number is called.

Give him documents but not the original passports. He may ask to see your original civilid too.

If approved, he will stamp your documents and you can move to the next section.

Again collect a token number from a person manning a small desk.

Also get the required revenue stamps (KD 10 per year)

Go to the counter where your number is called and give the documents with thedependents original passport.

You may be asked to affix the stamps on the passport.

You may be asked to give your mobile number

The old residence sticker and revenue stamps will be stamped "Cancelled"

The new one residence sticker will be stuck next to the page where the new revenuestamps were put. The revenue stamps page will be stamped to validate.

The last step is renewing the civil id which only requires you to call 1889988 or go to the PACIwebsite http://www.paci.gov.kw/CivIdRenewal.aspx and do the needful. The card should beready in one to two days.
