A NEW BEGINNINGI founded the Perry Clayman Project in 2005 with the belief that every person suffering from addiction should be

able to access quality abstinence based treatment at an affordable cost. Since then PCP has grown to be one of

the leading residential treatment providers for substance misuse in the UK with more than 120 bed spaces across

4 locations.

PCP delivers evidence based practice, integrating key approaches demonstrated to be most effective in the

treatment of addiction including 12 step, CBT, Motivational Interviewing, psycho-social education and solution

focussed therapy.

I am passionate about recovery and it fi lls me with joy to watch our staff and services grow as we learn new

things and adapt to our service user’s ever changing needs. I have a personal commitment to reducing the harm

that addiction brings to our society by providing support to the many families that are also affected by substance

misuse.

I look forward to meeting you.

OUR SERVICES

▶ Residential Detox

PCP is able to facilitate detox at all of our locations.

We have a purpose built 6 bed detox unit at our

Luton centre. Our detox specialist Doctor will assess

you upon arrival and prescribe a comfortable detox

according to your needs. Staff are available around

the clock to monitor and support you.

▶ Primary Stage Residential Rehab

PCP runs a tried and trusted intensive programme

for drug and alcohol treatment which blends a

combination of therapeutic models and support levels

to meet your needs. Specialist counselling is provided

to help with issues such as bereavement and abuse

and to address co-occurring behavioural addictions

such as co-dependency, gambling and sex addiction.

▶ Third Stage Move-on Accommodation

If your current housing is not suitable or if you truly

want a completely fresh start to life in recovery, we

can provide guaranteed housing in one of the bustling

recovery towns in which we are located. Continuing

to access support and having somewhere safe to live

greatly improves your chances of long term recovery.

▶ Aftercare

PCP provides free aftercare services for as long as

you require them. This consists of a weekly group

therapy, 1-2-1 counselling if required as well as

ongoing telephone support. You would be welcome

to volunteer at the clinic as a ‘Peer Mentor’ so that

you can share your experience to support new

service users in treatment.

▶ Family Programme

PCP provides family support services to educate

family members about addiction, boundaries and

coping strategies. If there is a particular family

problem that requires people getting together in a

safe space to talk, this can also be facilitated.

▶ Secondary Stage Social Integration Programme

The aim of the secondary programme is to allow

you to independently explore the next steps in

your life. You will devise your own weekly timetable

combining education and employment opportunities

with complementary therapies such as EMDR, Equine

Therapy, Yoga Therapy and EFT.

OUR TREATMENTThe best way to describe PCP treatment is ‘integrative’.

This means we use a variety of psychosocial interventions

to achieve the same goal – to get to the root cause of

your addiction and provide you with the coping strategies

that will keep you clean and sober.

Each centre offers a different combination of evidence

based therapies, integrating key approaches demonstrated

to be most effective in the treatment of addiction including

12 step, CBT, Motivational Interviewing, psycho-social

education and solution focussed therapy.

Specialist 1-2-1 counselling is integral at all of our

treatment centres and you will be appointed a counsellor

that best suits you. We can therefore help with other

behavioural issues and specialist areas of need inclusive of:

▶ Co-dependency ▶ Bereavement/Loss

▶ Sex addiction ▶ Anger Management

▶ Relationships ▶ Gender Specifi c Groups

Our treatment model also empowers you to develop the

vital everyday social skills that you will need to live a life of

sobriety in the real world:

▶ Building self esteem ▶ Assertiveness

▶ Nutritional Awareness ▶ Budgeting

▶ Goal Setting ▶ Communication Skills

FAQ’SWhat is a typical day in treatment?

Treatment takes place from 9am – 4.30pm throughout the week, with weekends being a half day. There are

regular breaks throughout the day to give you an opportunity to relax and have refreshments. If you are a smoker

you will be allowed to smoke during these breaks. In the evenings you are free to listen to music, watch TV,

prepare your evening meal etc. We will also provide you with “homework” activities as part of your treatment to

complete at the accommodation. On some evenings you will also attend meetings of NA, CA or AA in the local

community.

What is the accommodation like?

You will live in a shared house within walking distance to the treatment centre. Most people have single rooms,

though some are shared. You will share a bathroom, kitchen and living room facilities, where there is a communal

TV. The accommodation is very homely and you will learn to live both independently and as a community.

Am I allowed visitors?

Yes, from the 4th weekend of treatment, visitors can meet you on a Saturday or Sunday and you are free to have

coffee, go to the park etc. After the fi rst week you will get your phone back and in the evening your family will be

able to call you directly to fi nd out how you are doing.

What do I need to bring into treatment?

All you will need is comfortable clothing, toiletries and towels. Walking shoes and a coat are advised as you walk

to meetings. You can bring books, MP3 player and a phone. Please bring any medication prescribed to you by

your GP.

TESTIMONIALS

“ I was an addict for 20 years and had given up all hope, I thought I had no chance. PCP treatment is the best thing that I have ever done. The staff are amazing and the programme is so powerful – If you really, really want to get clean, go to PCP - you will not regret it ” - Lee

“ Today life is amazing. I am present today. My children have their Mum back. My Mum has her daughter back. I am a sister, daughter and Mum today. I am truly blessed to be given this second chance in life. PCP and the 12 steps have enabled me to do this. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I will treasure my time spent here for the rest of my life ” - Dawn

“ The best thing about PCP was the living arrangements. I developed a really strong bond with my house mates and learned so many life skills that I never thought I had. I learned how to ask for help and by being out there and in the community gave me the strength to know that I could go into a supermarket and not pick up a drink. Looking back, it made coming home a lot easier, as I was used to being in the real world and taking responsibility ” - Clare

“ Thanks for the wonderful stay here at PCP you not only saved me but taught me I was worth saving. Thank you for helping me rediscover who I am - You have succeeded with me where so many others have failed ” - Chris
