Richland Community Center Construction BulletinIssue I January 2000
Richland voters approved the sell of $3,895,000 in General Obligation Bonds in a May 1999 election, for construction of a new Community Center. The City will provide additional funding from real estate excise tax, Community Block Grant funds, revenues from the sale of the Community House site, general fund, and Richland Seniors Association donation to bring the total funding to $4,908,000.
Architectural design for this project is by ARC Architects of Seattle; engineering design by SCM Consultants, Inc. Currently the project is in preliminary design and programming, and designers are receiving input from the various stakeholders.
The new Community Center will be constructed in the existing parking lot for the Memorial Ballfield located in south Howard Amon Park.
This project is scheduled to be advertised for bid in June 2000 with construction being completed in June 2001.
This Richland Construction Bulletin will be published bi-monthly to keep the project stakeholders and city residents informed on the status of the current construction work. Published by SCM Consultants, Inc., construction manager for these Richland projects. Please forward questions or corrections concerning this newsletter to [email protected], or call Mr. Roger Wright at 783-1625.
