4Respect for Self and Others:BullyingFacts about BullyingAbout 30% school children is either a bully or a target.Bullying affects about 6 million elementary and middle school students in the U.S.15-20% of all children report being bullied on a regular basis..Kids who are obese, gay, or have disabilities are up to 63% more likely to be bullied than other children.

Bullying hurts everyone. Targets feel sad, afraid, anxious and bad about themselves. Witnesses/Bystanders may feel afraid and anxious. Bullies often get into serious trouble as adults.

Dont participate in the bullyingTell the bully to stop, even if the bully is your friend.Help the target walk away with you.Encourage the target to report the incident. Ask for help of a trusted adult. Tell your parent, Counselor, Teacher, Principal, SRO, etc.Elicit responses from the students before responses are revealed.9

Ignore immediately, Walk away, Go to a safe locationFill out a bullying form, or fill out an online report at PSM website.
