We will send out a reminder in the break. Families are welcome to come and have warm and delicious pancakes with their child on the first day back. They are $5 and this will include a drink (tea and coffee will be available for adults). Autumn Break School finishes tomorrow Thursday April 1 and will resume for students on Tuesday April 20. Staff will be participating in a Staff Development Day on Monday April 19. Tomorrow at 2pm we will draw the P & C Easter Egg raffle, there is still time to send your tickets in. Students may also come in mufti tomorrow if they wish, however their clothing must be sun safe, appropriate and they must have enclosed shoes. I hope all our families have a lovely autumn break and I look forward to welcoming everyone back next term. Sydney Leadership Camp Last week I had the privilege of taking Makayla, Shaylea and Stuart to the Halogen Young Leaders Conference at Darling Harbour. We stayed in a lovely apartment at Pyrmont overlooking the water and spent Wednesday, Thursday and Friday exploring parts of the city and the new Sydney Zoo out near Eastern Creek. The National Young Leaders Day, which is like a conference designed for students, was held on Thursday and we listened to inspirational speeches from Lachie Smart, Anastasia Woolmer, Jimmy Rees and David Campbell. Their messages were about courage, overcoming challenges, their experiences and how they had their own passions and dreams that they wanted to achieve. It was an awesome excursion with many different memories. 2021-2024 School Improvement Plan Our new School Improvement Plan will be signed off and placed onto our school 31 March 2021 Principals Message School Happenings P&C News Community Notices Tuckshop Roster Coming Events Respect Responsible Resilient website at the end of the week for people to view. We have two strategic directions and a strong focus on literacy and numeracy interventions, assessment, unpacking data and further mastering teaching and learning within our school. We are looking forward to sharing our highlights with you as we continue on building on the wonderful opportunities and learning that students receive at Bemboka PS. School Vision Statement As we are on a new journey with our School Improvement Plan we collectively decided to update our school vision statement. In partnership with families, our goal is to help our learners develop the knowledge, critical thinking skills, and character necessary to be successful in a dynamic world; becoming resourceful and responsible citizens who demonstrate that everyone is worthy of respect. We will also create a student worded vision statement so our learners are able to articulate a vision statement in wording that they can understand. This will be a priority next term.
