Male fertility

• Starts at puberty age until death. It means that the male body is now producing “sperm” and he has

and she is ready to get pregnant.• The egg cell is the female contribution in pregnancy.• The woman is fertile only during “ovulation”.• Ovulation happens only once during the “Ovulatory Phase” of

the menstrual cycle.• Female fertility will end up to ”menopause” stage.

MENSTRUAL PHASE Responsible Parenthood and All-Natural Family Planning Program

• Starts on the first day of menstruation.• Menstrual bleeding is the result of the shedding off

of the uterine lining. This means that the woman is not pregnant.

• Menstruation usually happens 4-6 days.

Responsible Parenthood and All-Natural Family Planning Program

• Menstruation had stopped or ceased already.

• Egg cell starts to develop .• The uterine lining is beginning

to thicken.• There is a mucus plug at the

cervix.• The woman is experiencing feelings of dryness and

no mucus is seen.• Pre- Ovulatory phase is known to be relatively

infertile days.

Page 11: Responsible Parenthood and All- Natural Family Planning Program Responsible Parenthood and All- Natural Family Planning Program

Ovulatory Phase

Responsible Parenthood and All-Natural Family Planning Program

• Cervix is now open.• Wet is the feeling experienced

by the woman.• Mucus are watery, slippery,

clear and stretchy are seen and felt.(fertile mucus)

• Mucus nourishes sperms and filters abnormal sperms , too.

• Uterine lining continue to thicken• One matured egg is released from the ovary and

stays at the fallopian tube for about 24 hrs.• The life span of the egg cell is 24 hours only.

Page 12: Responsible Parenthood and All- Natural Family Planning Program Responsible Parenthood and All- Natural Family Planning Program

Post-Ovulatory Phase

Responsible Parenthood and All-Natural Family Planning Program

• If there is no meeting of the sperm and egg cell, the egg cell disintegrate and is reabsorbed by the body.

• The cervix is closed again• The woman feels dryness and no

mucus is seen.

• Post-ovulatory phase is known to be absolutely infertile days .

• The uterine lining thickens again.• Because the woman is not pregnant, she will again

experience menstruation.
