EXPERIENCE 2011 – Present Infrastructure and Construction Environmental Specialist

2011 – 2013 Environmental Manager - Pipeline QGC (QCLNG Project) This project included the delivery of the 540km, 42 inch QCLNG pipeline project, including a 5km marine section (combination of 2km road construction over marine mudflats, 3 kms of twin rail, HDD, 2 bridges, sheet pile cofferdam, dredging and a four km pipe pull of 2x42 inch pipes across the Narrows). Bruce’s key achievements were:

Ø Led a diverse team of field and office personnel to deliver an

unprecedented number of major approvals from the State and Commonwealth Governments to ensure project commencement, ongoing construction and budgetary milestones were met.

Ø Developed and implemented compliance systems, environmental and sustainability policies and the environmental management system.

Ø Managed a multi-disciplined team of personnel to initially assess risk, develop management plans and acquire approvals, and then oversee the contractor to successfully complete the project in accordance with legislative and approval conditions and compliance objectives.

Ø Actively implemented systems within the Project Team reducing the risk of non-compliances through contractor performance management, compliance management and system audits.

Ø Promoted and developed a positive culture towards environmental awareness within the QCLNG Pipeline Team.

Ø Implemented effective environmental management systems and measures onsite ensuring compliance with the parameters of Commonwealth and State legislation and permit conditions.

Santos (GLNG Project) Bruce’s involvement in this project was during the pre-FEED, FEED, detailed design phase, and the appointment of an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contractor for the 430km, 42 inch gas pipeline from Injune to Curtis Island. Key achievements included: Ø Coordinated the development of relevant sections of the EIS and SEIS to

deliver the necessary documentation to regulators and obtain project approval.

Ø Developed and maintained close working relationships with regulator representatives, assisted in key negotiations.

Ø Managed a team of internal and external staff to develop and deliver the major permits and approvals within the specified timeframes.

Ø Managed multiple consultants for site surveys and assistance throughout FEED and the approvals development phase.

Ø Managed a $15m environmental budget to deliver the project within set timeframes.

Ø Worked across a multi-disciplinary project team to develop an effective contract, acquire the necessary approvals and award the contract to the successful tenderer.

Ø Provided strategic, technical and environmental advice to construction, project controls, corporate, commercial, engineering and senior executives.

Ø Coordinated RFI’s from State and Commonwealth Governments culminating in the successful approval of the EIS.

2005 – 2009 Central Queensland Regional Environmental Coordinator Powerlink Queensland This was a site based role in Mackay as part of the execution of a capital works program in excess of $600m to expand the capacity of the states’ transmission network. Projects included:
