10 years as the Team Lead of IBM’s WW BAT Support team (ranging in size from 8 – 12). Provided world-wide (China, Taiwan, Canada, etc) 24x7 Server and Application Administration for 80 to 100 servers and 300+ semiconductor test tools. This required effective management of and coordination with people from varied backgrounds, skills, cultures and countries (i.e. India, Singapore, Taiwan, China, Canada, Germany, and Mexico).

3 years as the Team Lead of the IBM's TSE Crisis Team(ranging in size from 11 – 13). Originated and implemented this world-wide team to promptly resolve major technical issues, no matter where or when they occurred.

Operational Management Drove the development and testing of an enhanced monitoring system of servers, applications, and software resources

called CMS (Central Monitoring System). Its use and scope continue to grow within the TSE organization.

Performed Root Cause Analysis (RCA) using the LEAN 8-Step process on several technical issues.

Automated 20 – 30 server functions with bash scripts & cron jobs.

Maintained 8 – 18 servers, performing monitoring, middleware installations & upgrades, DB admin, etc.

IT Project Management Managed complex cross-organizational projects involving 4 to 6 departments (s/w developers, test engineers, product

engineers, manufacturing operators, managers, etc) to solve existing issues and to support new business. For example, one project involved the delivery of wafer maps and fuse maps to various semiconductor companies.

For these projects, prepared design specifications, developed reports, directed testing and managed user adoption.

Drove the ASCA certification for a major infrastructure software application called TCI (Tool Control Infrastructure). Created the 115-page document that resulted in 0 exceptions during the certification process.

Client Interface For the TCI infrastructure software development team, drove enhancements to (a) software builds, (b) system testing,

(c) user acceptance testing, and (d) deploys. This resulted in improved relationships with the Manufacturing area. Manufacturing's satisfaction with TCI increased substantially, largely due to almost 0 issues during deploys.

Reduced the time to deploy the TCI (Tool Control Infrastructure) software releases by 80 - 85%.

Software Development Performed all stages of software development - requirements, design, development, unit test, integration test,

acceptance test and maintenance – for multiple software projects over a space of 19 years. The largest – the DATACS tool control system – incorporated front-end as well as back-end development in C (and some C++) in the OS/2 environment. This tool control software worked in conjunction with the LLCC semiconductor tester, a unique tool and tester on the manufacturing floor developed by IBM engineers and software developers. The DATACS tool control system was in use by IBM for over 20 years.
