The fund finances the creation of homes for low and moderate income households, initially in South Africa but growing into other countries in Sub-Saharan Africa. The fund had its first close in 2008 and has 1.9 billion rand (approximately USD 240 million) of capital—amongst its investors is OPIC, Citi, MacArthur, and the Development Bank of Southern Africa. Subsequent fund II first and second closings have been achieved.
