Worked in Mainframe Technologies in two projects (in Financial Services and Insurance domain) namely: AMP Australia:
Worked in one of the three applications named Flexiplan and played a key role in analyzing and making code fixes depending upon the Business requirements in PL-1 and IMS-DB. Worked on the daily tickets which involved analyzing the policy at the backend level and removing/fixing errors while processing transactions or when the policy is in an abend state etc. Designed new jobs in JCL to extract data (Policies, Policy holders’ information etc.) as part of yearly and quarterly report generations and ad hoc report generation based on immediate Business requirements. Monitored entire Batch of jobs and helped fixing them in case of any batch failure. This was a part of the job which required to be taken care of in order to make Online Screens to come up before Business hours start each day.
Worked with the tools: Control-M and Mitts. Aviva UK Life:
Monitored installation of new jobs and implemented job fixes so as to enable smooth functioning of Batch and make sure that every job finishes on time. Extensively used Control-M tool for scheduling jobs and making necessary arrangements while introducing new jobs. Helped reviewing any bug before introducing any new job in the system as it could potentially delay the batch in case it fails to complete. This part of the job was called 'Gate-Keeping'.

Trained in handling PLCs to control and operate various automation tasks. Worked on designing simulations through SCADA to give the graphical display of how different Automation Systems work. Worked on designing project called ‘Water Level Sensing System' fully automated through the use of PLCs and SCADA.
PROJECTS Voice Controlled Robot to assist Physically Challenged people (C++ and LabView)
Worked in a team of five and helped make a prototype which was interfaced with Google Voice Engine and the application was built using LabVIEW and C++. Collaborated in analyzing the process of image processing as well as worked on devising suitable techniques (Histogram etc.) to help maneuver the robot to its desired location.
PDS: File Sharing application based on Android Platform (Java) Developed a file sharing application that can help users share files with various other users upon request when both provider and receiver are connected to the same network using a service called PEC, based on UDP, in Java.
Design of a Web Crawler and subsequently working on building a search engine (Python) Developed a Web crawler using Python and currently working on building a search engine using key search engine components including the crawler, an index and a page rank algorithm.
Online Bagging and Boosting (Python) Implemented the online version of Bagging and Boosting algorithms, which are primarily well known ensemble supervised learning algorithms modeled in Batch mode, and studying the accuracy of the online method over the traditional batch version.
