Outreach Step UpWhat us Stepping Up: John Izzo, Ph.D.Stepping up is taking initiative to make an
organization/business better by bringing new ideas, suggesting better ways, and taking high effort.
Step Up is act of seeing a need and deciding that you are the right person to do something about it.Step Up is about taking responsibility. Responsibility changes everything. When we focus on what we can change instead of what
others must do, everything changes. People’s problem is that they blame/wait for others to do instead of trying to improve the situation themselves.
Outreach Step UpInternal people – People who does things InitiatorsExternal people - People who have things
happened to them. VictimsVictims see it as someone’s responsibilityInitiators take initiative to solve problemsPeople who say, “It is my job, some of it is my
doing, I can be different, and I don’t accept things the way they are,” are simply happier and more successful than those who focus outside of themselves
Outreach Step UpFixed mindset – People who have unchanging set
of talents and gifts.
Flexible mindset – People who believe that we can
grow and learn new skills.Changing your brain by Stepping Up – Practice
makes perfect. Every act we do, we will repeat it (Alvaro Pascual Leone of Harvard)
Romans 12:2, “Do not conformany longer to the pattern of this
world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”
Outreach Step UpFour reasons why people don’t step up (325):a. I can’t change things. I am only one person – 46%b. It’s others’ responsibility to change things – 20%c. I am too busy – 18%d. Fear of looking bad if I try and nothing changes – 16%If not me, who? If not now, when?Create a culture for people to step up, always try to find new ways to improve never give up.How Hmong people step up?
Outreach Step UpLife gives us many opportunities, and those
opportunities require us in one form or another to raise our hands and say, “Count Me In.”
What might you step up to do right now in your life if you knew you might regret not doing so later on?
If we want people to step up, we need to make sure we praise them for their effort, not just the outcome.

Ministry) can be different that you will step up and try?
Why we should step up? Because of our LOVE for each other. Because of our LOVE for the Lord and for the Hmong people.
Everything that has EVER been accomplished began with someone taking a single step.
The time to step up is Right Now.
