We at the Heritage House, located at 210 West College in Seminole, invite all of the seniors in our area to come and visit with us and join in the activities that we have. If you are 60 years old or older, we would ask that you make a donation of $1 (if you are able) for your meal. Those under 60 are asked to donate $5 for their meal. There are no income requirements. We also have a jar for a donation to the coffee and tea fund, as well as a jar for any suggestions you might have. If you plan to come eat with us, please call 382-2156 before 9 a.m. so that enough food is prepared for everyone. If you are a regular participant, don’t forget to sign in each day and check by your name for the fol- lowing day. We have many activities for you to participate in, such as: card games, dominoes, pool, shuffleboard, helping to com- plete a jigsaw puzzle that’s in progress, bingo, exercising on the many machines available. Of course, you can come and visit with everyone and get acquainted. Every Thursday morning, a country/ western band comes in to entertain us with some of the oldies, as well as some newer songs. They will even take requests if you have one you would like them to do. We do have a few box fans remaining that were donated by O G & E for those who do not have air conditioning of any kind in their homes. Speak to the Site Manager about getting one. We have quite a few items in the boutique so you can come in and shop. There are lots of clothes (all sizes) as well as books, what-nots, and miscella- neous items. We thank all those who bring their leftover yard sale things for us to sell. The money received from the boutique helps provide the coffee, tea, creamers, sugar, straws, etc.. On Wednesday, August 13 th , Kristin Haskins from Faith Hos- pice will come in and provide information about their hospice group and will answer any ques- tions you might have. On September 3 rd , a repre- sentative from Economy Hear- ing Aids will come in to check your hearing and/or advise you about hearing aids. A pool tournament will be starting soon. If you would like to be part of it, please sign up and drop a dollar in the jar. We always have a lot of fun with lots of cheering (or booing) from the sidelines. We are without a senior to highlight again this week, but please keep watching and hope- fully someone will be selected soon for this column. Heritage House News By Conni Streeter Last Duplicate Bridge Meeting was a Success The final meeting of the Seminole Duplicate Bridge to be conducted by Richard and Teresa Tarpey was Tues. August 5 th . Before bridge there was a luncheon catered by Lunch and Such . Janet Peery read the list of former players that had passed away. Then she gave an inspiring invocation. After eating there were five tables in play. The Winners were: 1 st Place - Richard Tarpey, Shawnee and Russell Tarpey, Seminole. 2 nd Place - Trigg Yerby and Pat Ward, Ada. 3 rd Place - Ann Pepper, Ada and Teresa Tarpey, Shawnee. There was a tie for 4 th place between the partners Laura Rose and Gail Woodard and Judy James and Mary Whitley. Richard and Russell Tarpey were the only couple that bid and made a grand slam. Other players were Dean Willis, Holdenville; Tom and Lenea Willsher, Stewarrt Wilcon, Virgil and Betty Cole, all of Ada; Janet Peery and Gloria Cox, Shawnee; Thelma Randolph and LaVere Bishop. Sherman Layman from Okemah came for lunch. Thanks and applause were given to the Tarpeys for their hard work and diligence in keeping the group together these many years. Players will be notified when the group starts playing again. TSCRA Holds Ranch Dinner Fort Worth, Texas The Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association (TSCRA) will host a ranch gathering Tuesday, August 19, at the Holdenville High School Cafeteria in Holdenville, Okla. Registration will begin at 5:30 p.m. followed by a compli- mentary beef dinner. The event is free and open to the public. TSCRA Special Ranger, Kent Dowell will give an update on law enforcement activities and share information on how ranch- ers can keep their livestock and equipment safe. Anyone who joins TSCRA at the gathering will receive a free metal gate sign courtesy of Bayer Animal Health and New Holland Agriculture. Child Care is Available OKLAHOMA CITY, July 14– Oklahoma parents can now access a statewide program designed to provide resources and referrals for services across Oklahoma. Rainbow Fleet, a nonprofit child care resource and referral agency, recently established a statewide resource and referral service designed to help parents locate qual- ity child care options and resources in their area. The service is offered at no cost to callers. The statewide, toll-free resource and referral telephone number is 1- 800-438-0008. The resource and referral line is staffed by experienced, knowledge- able specialists with access to a vari- ety of programs, care centers and resources all across Oklahoma. “The agency previously pro- vided this service in Oklahoma and Cleveland Counties,” said Carrie Bullard, Rainbow Fleet’s executive director, “but a new grant from the Oklahoma Child Care Resource and Referral Association lets us offer this resource to parents in all 77 counties. This will allow us to help parents all across our state identify quality child care options in there area as well as resources like educational activities for their children.” For more than 40 years, Rainbow Fleet has provided innovative child development programs to families and child care service providers. Rainbow Fleet helps families locate quality child care options and assists child care providers with a multitude of services including licensing and technical assistance as well as age-appropriate activities and curriculum.

Heritage House Pool Tournament Starts SoonGreetings, Senior Citizens!We at the Heritage House,

located at 210 West College in Seminole, invite all of the seniors in our area to come and visit with us and join in the activities that we have.
