    (a) Regarding identifying Projects:

    I. ESICs Project Panchdeep which is developed by Wipro:

    Summary and the Main Objective of the project: ESIC stands for Employees State InsuranceCorporation which is under Ministry Of Labour and Employment of Indian Government. The main objective ofthis project is to provide medical services to the Insured Persons (IP's- belonging to economically weaker

    section of society) through its network of 144 hospitals and 1388 dispensaries spread across the country. Itis very difficult to maintain the process manually. So ESIC decided to process this system where all thehospitals and dispensaries across the country could be integrated into a single e-health environment forbetter accessibility for everyone.

    The main challenges for this project are like

    Creation of one of the largest medical records database in the world.

    Largest roll out of identity cards in India.

    Coverage for 2220 sites across India.

    After bidding, this project is undertaken by Wipro and named the project as Panchdeep.Wipro hasundertaken the activities like Project Milap, Project Pashan, Project Danwantri, and Project Pragati.

    The key benefits of this Project:

    Automation of this project resulting in faster processing of claims. Improved operation co-ordination across functional departments.

    Reduction in operational cost in terms of lower inventory cost.

    Time line for the project:

    Six-and-half-year project worth INR 118.2 million which is started in March 2009.

    II. Nissan Project which is maintaining by Mahindra Satyam:

    Summary and the Main Objective of the project: This project is regardingapplication maintenance andoperation services. This is worth USD 40 million over five years.

    Time line for the project:

    The deal is for a period of three years until 2013, with an additional extension period of two years.
