SELECTED ASSISTED REPRODUCTIVE TECHNOLOGIES IN
SELECTED INFERTILITY CLINICS, BANGALORE”
OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY
1. To assess the knowledge of women with infertility regarding selected
Assisted reproductive technologies.
2. To assess the attitude of women with infertility regarding selected
Assisted reproductive technologies.
3. To assess the effectiveness of the video assisted teaching programme by
comparing mean pre-test & mean post-test knowledge scores.
4. To find association between the knowledge and attitude of women with
infertility and selected demographical variables.
5. To find correlation between the knowledge and attitude of women with
infertility.

METHODS
Conceptual framework adopted for this study is Imogene M .King’s
goal attainment theory. Based on the problem selected and objective of the
study quasi-experimental one group pre-test post-test design without control
group was selected.
Sample of women with infertility from Fortis hospital and Sure
infertility clinic, Bangalore were selected by non-probability purposive
sampling technique. Data was collected by administering structured
questionnaire and attitude scale before and after the implementation of video
assisted teaching programme. Data were analyzed using descriptive and
inferential statistics and represented in tables and graphs.
RESULTS
Data was analyzed by using descriptive and inferential statistics. The
results revealed that majority of the women with infertility were having
inadequate knowledge regarding assisted reproductive technologies.
Following the video assisted teaching majority of the respondents were
found to have adequate knowledge regarding selected assisted reproductive
technologies. The findings of the study revealed that mean post-test
knowledge and attitude score of women with infertility exposed to video

assisted teaching programme was higher than the mean pre-test knowledge
and attitude score.
CONCLUSION
The overall findings of the study revealed that following the video
assisted teaching there was a highly significant increase in the knowledge of
women with infertility regarding selected assisted reproductive technologies.
