RhiZomiC Poetry the last Wednesday of every month Poetry Party and open-mic Featuring: Louise Wakeling & Jenni Nixon Louise Wakeling is a Sydney poet, teacher and reviewer whose work has appeared in many journals and anthologies over a number of years, including Blue Dog, Five Bells, Southerly, Westerly, Secret Cow and Going Down Swinging. Saturn Return, her novel was published by Hale & Iremonger in 1990. A second novel, Watermarks, was written as part of a PhD in 1998. Her poems have been included in the recent anthologies,Out of the Box, edited by Michael Farrell and Jill Jones (Puncher & Wattmann, 2009) and The Best Poems of 2010, edited by Robert Adamson (Black Inc. 2010). In 2007, Wakeling was awarded a Premier's English Teaching award to research the teaching of poetry in American universities and high schools by poet-professors and Wakeling's latest collection of poetry is Paragliding in a war zone (Puncher & Wattmann, 2009). She is currently working on a new manuscript of ecopoetry.teachers. She and Jenni are currently writing poetry in conversation with the Harbour City Poets for a performance at the Sydney Writers' Festival in May, 2011 on the subject of the ''endless city". Jenni Nixon is a Sydney poet and performer.
