Why become a Lifetimer? We recently asked one of our newest, Tony

    Emmanuel, and heres his response:

About a year ago Betty, my wife, asked if I ever thought of joining the

RHS Lifetime Members? I answered, No.

But then I thought about it. I could drive my old Ford Ranger pickup

a while longer . . . put off buying a few things. Then, RHS President Chris

Himes talked a little bit about the Society needs for funds. She talked

about it in an alluring way so as to seduce you.

Two months later, the sad news ofNao Hardys passing did it. I

gave. A bit for RHS, Nao, Judy Aries, Chris Himes and Miguel Llanoswho give a lot moreand the others who donate their precious time.

Now I feel better driving my old pickup truck. I like it even more now.

P.S. Its not true that I cant buy a truck if I really need it. Its just that

this was my way of thinking. Dont we old-timers reason things?
