The Provost is the lead officer in developing and implementing the System planning framework and strategy which are supported by institutional peer statistical benchmarking and by a system wide dashboard tracking performance and competitiveness. In addition, the Senior VicePresident was responsible for all student services including the Corps ofCadets, civilian students, athletics, retention, orientation, student judicialaffairs, counseling, career development, public relations, student leaderdevelopment and University strategic planning. Implemented a Board ofTrustees decision to separate Vermont College from Norwich University andbecome part of Union Institute & University. The acquisition includedacademic programs, faculty and staff, and real estate.

Vice President for Vermont College and University PlanningAugust 1989 to June 1995Reporting to the President of Norwich University, the Vice President servedas the chief academic and administrative officer for Vermont College, theUniversity'S Montpelier campus dedicated for adult and nontraditionallearning. Vermont College composed of 900 adult students, was dedicated toself-directed, leamer-centered education for adult students who pursuedindividual educational goals with the support and guidance of a diverseliberal arts and social sciences faculty.

Vice President for Public AffairsJuly 1982 to July 1989Edison State College is New Jersey's State College for Adults. Reporting tothe President, the Vice President for Public Affairs was the senioradministrator leading the institutional advancement and external relationsprogram of the College. Responsibilitiesincluded planning, curriculum design, marketing, staffing, budgeting,evaluation, and general administration for the following program areas:Evening Session, Counseling/Student Services, New Careers Center, OpenUniversity, Continuing Education, Summer Sessions and Intersession.

Assistant Dean and Director of Continuing Education, AssistantProfessor, May 1975 to June 1979The College of Alternative Programs was a degree-granting unit operatingnontraditional degree programs, evening credit programs, University-widenoncredit courses, conferences and workshops, all summer sessions andacademic support and counseling for part-time adult students. AssistantDean responsibilities included planning, promotion and marketing, fiscalmanagement, grant writing, summer session management, and datamanagement ofthe College of Alternative Programs. Director of ContinuingEducation responsibilities include administration, curriculum design, andevaluation of University-wide credit and noncredit continuing educationprograms including on and off-campus courses, workshops, conferences,media courses, and recruitment of nonacademic summer conferences.

Coordinator, Institutional ResearchJune 1973 to June 1974Responsibilities included the design and maintenance of computer-basedinformation files. Also, included were responsibilities for initiation ofresearch studies and responding to research questions. The research functionincluded design, methodology, and interpretation of findings to variouslevels of management. Specific accomplishments were the conversion of theUniversity personnel record-keeping from a manual to a computer-basedsystem and refinement of a Planning Programming Budgeting System.
