Verde Rios said the Chuckers need to contin-ue working as hard as they are now to win a few more games to put us in a good position to make the pro-vincials. For the long run , he would like to see the
players stay healthy. The Chuckers are coming
off an impressive double-header sweep over visiting Kelowna last Sunday at La-trace Field in Minoru Park. After a 9-3 victory in the opening game, Richmond rallied from a four-run deficit in the sixth inning to record an inspiring 10-7 win. The Chuckers showed great character in doing so, with the players con-sistently providing their teammates with vocal sup-port from the dugout.
“We need to build on this,” agreed Verde Rios.“We are all learning to believe and to never give up.”
The Chuckers (17-7 on the season) are sched-uled to host Cowichan in a doubleheader Saturday at 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. and to entertain Victoria Sunday at noon and 2:30 p.m. All four games are to be played at Latrace Field.
