This year marks the 100th anniversary of the start of World War I. To commemorate the WWI centennial, the Union Jack
flag-raising ceremony will be led by Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry (PPCLI).
The 2014 Lougheed Gardens commemorate the PPCLI’s contributions during WWI. The garden’s Marguerite Daisies
represent the original PPCLI insignia worn during WWI.
