Bridgton Rec Youth Soccer athletes ending the
season with soccer games, cake, popcorn, and lots
of fun! Thank you to Leslie Hayes and Kat Harju for
all their help during the soccer season and
organizing this event. Thank you to all the coaches
and volunteers that created an incredible season!
We would like to thank all of the people who made the Bridgton Recreation Halloween Party a success! Thank you to the Bridgton
Recycling Committee, Bridgton Academy Basketball Team, Bridgton Public Works, My Three Owls Photography, Deb Ripley, Maddie
Rock, Han Mei, Lucien Wallace, Mark Mayo, Olivia Thompson, Veronica Messina, Kaitlyn Plummer, Julia Murch, Ellery Hunt, Delaney
Meserve, Dawson Smith, and anyone else that helped create a great spooktacular time for the community. It take a lot of effort to
prepare for a community party like this and it could not have been done without the help of all of these people!
Is it really November? I can not believe another year is about to come to a close. We have a great event
planned for the annual Festival of Lights on December 1st! I hope that you could join us for all the wonderful
events and shows going on in downtown Bridgton this year.
Basketball season has arrived and starting the first week of December the 3rd through 6th grade athletes will
start practicing for their season opener scheduled for the first week of January. Kindergarten basketball will
start on November 27th at 5:15 at the Bridgton Town Hall and the 1st and 2nd grade basketball athletes will
kick off their season at the Lake Region Middle School on December 1st.
Many people are curious why we did not have our annual Thanksgiving Day fitness classes this year at the
Town Hall. It really is a fun event and a great way to start the day however this year the annual floor cleaning
and resurfacing was scheduled later than usual and therefor we were unable to open the gym on Thanksgiving
Day. Do not worry though, SWEAT will return this January!
Believe it or not you are now able to register for Spring Sports at www.bridgtonmaine.org. Signing up early
will make our program run smoother and will help us in the organization of our leagues, which in turn will
help get practice and game schedules out to families earlier and our kids on the court/field sooner. Bridgton
has baseball and softball available for residents, and lacrosse for all Lake Region district youth from K-6.
Karate will be starting its winter session after the holidays so please contact me if you would like to join the
program. Mad Science will not have a winter session, however it will return in the spring on Monday’s after
school. Run Club after its first session finished up just after Halloween and looks to return in the spring as
well.
Thank you to all the volunteers that make all of these programs happen because without you it would not be
possible! Happy Holidays and enjoy your friends and family!!
Respectfully,
Gary Colello
