Volume 38 , Issue 1 January 2019 A M ONTHLY PUBLICATION OF TRINITY BAPTIST CHURCH , P INEVILLE , LA
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Well, we made it through another year and now heading into 2019. This coming year has all the potential for great
things. We only have to look for them and strive to reach them. Part of that potential, will be a new Student Minister
who will come in with fresh enthusiasm and a fresh vision for our children and youth. We will need to stand with
him and be his partner in the work that God has already ordained for him to walk in. The success of his ministry will
lie heavily on our support and encouragement, so be in prayer for him and those who walk with him in his new
ministry right here at Trinity.
The picture of what Trinity Baptist Church will look like in 2019 is a blank canvas right now… it is ready for us to add our
inspiration, designs and colors to become a wonderful portrait of God’s vision of His church called Trinity Baptist. Without your
help it cannot be completed, we need everyone one of His family to join in and add their own inspiration, design and colors… for
you see, we each are chosen by God to make this picture complete… Will you be a part of God’s masterpiece? My prayer is that we
each say “Yes! I will do my part.”
On another note… I want to give a few “Shout Outs” to members of Trinity who have stepped up to fill in the gaps left while we
have been left without a Student Minister/Associate Pastor:
1. Ryan Matthews who stepped up and helping lead our Youth during these last months of 2018.
2. Chrystal Luneau who stepped up to help in our children’s ministry.
3. The Pfiefer family who stepped up to lead in our Fall Festival.
4. Justin Vaughn who filled the pulpit while I was away and had the vision to get the Christmas Baskets
to our Pineville City Hall, Police station and fire stations.
THANK YOU FROM A GRATEFUL PASTOR!
TEACHABLE MOMENT
This year brings two milestones in my life. Fifty years ago, I began my ministry journey at Esler Field Baptist Church and 20 years
ago I became pastor of Trinity Baptist Church. Though my ministry began in music, youth and education, my pastoral ministry
began in 1981 at First Baptist Church of Golden Meadow, LA. Since that time I have pastured only two other churches, Emmanuel
Baptist in Eunice for 12 yrs. and now here for 20 yrs. Over these fifty years we have experienced awesome highs and some very
deep lows, but there were two things that remained consistent; the Lord and Gilda standing by my side. When Jesus Christ is your
Lord and Savior your highs are tempered by His wisdom and presence and your lows are shared by one who experienced events in
life that were much lower than any of us have ever endured. Then you add the benefit of a faithful godly wife and you can stand up
to anything. Thank God for Jesus and for Gilda, what blessings I have had all these years. The Teachable Moments?
The Lord at our side at all times… Heb 13:5-6 For He Himself has said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you." 6 So we may
boldly say: "The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?
The blessings of a godly wife… Prov 12:4 An excellent wife is the crown of her husband.. Prov 18:22 He who finds a wife finds a
good thing, and obtains favor from the Lord.
I pray that 2019 will be best year in your life and that of Trinity Baptist Church.
