DR. ESTILL
MAY’S LICK | Dr. George E. Estill, 88, beloved hus-band, father and local physician, died on May 12, 2012, at Maysville Nursing and Rehabilitation Facil-ity, where he had been a patient.
Dr. Estill married Bonnie Gormley Estill on Aug. 27, 1949, and resided at the family home at 502 West Second Street in Maysville.
Dr. Estill was born in May’s Lick on Aug. 26, 1923, the son of the late William Elbert and Marga-ret Flanagan Estill.
George Estill served in the United States Navy during World War II, but was stationed stateside as a medical technician at the Great Lakes Training Cen-ter due to the death of his brother, William E. Estill, Jr., in combat in France. Dr. Estill was a graduate of May’s Lick High School, the University of Kentucky and Georgetown University Medical School. He and his wife met while both work-ing at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Lexington, and then re-sided in Washington, D.C., during medical school and his residencies at Mount Alto Veteran’s Hospital and Emergency Hospital.
In 1954, the Estills planned a temporary re-turn to Maysville during the illness of his mother, which resulted in a part-nership with Drs. Mitchel and Harry Denham, and a 45-year practice in this community. Dr. Estill re-tired from practice with the Maysville Family Medical Clinic on March 31, 1999, and thereafter enjoyed several years of traveling and farming with his family.
Dr. Estill was the long-time medical director of Maysville Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility, a founder of special educa-tion in Mason County, and participated in the devel-opment of the local Head Start, before it was a state program. He had been a member and leader on the Maysville Board of Health, the Maysville Housing Au-thority and Urban Renew-al. He chaired the Board of Education at St. Patrick’s School, was an organizer and chair of SPAC and the
first Fall Festival, and was active in all church and school concerns. He was privileged to practice med-icine at both Hayswood Hospital and then Mead-owview Regional Medical Center, and truly enjoyed his vocation. Dr. Estill de-livered over 3,000 babies at those hospitals during his career.
Besides his wife Bonnie, George Estill is survived by six children, Anne Hoskins (Bill) of Versailles, George Flanagan Estill, M.D. (Candy) of Corydon, Ind., William Estill of North-field, Vt., Susan Plucinsky (Jim) of Denver, Col., Mary Margaret Harrison (Alan) of Lexington, and John Estill (Sandi) of May’s Lick. Dr. Estill is also survived by 15 grandchildren, Billy, Kevin and Chris Hoskins, Maggie, Leslie and An-drew Estill, Tim, Michael and Katherine Plucinsky, Elizabeth, Emily and John Harrison, and Patrick, Claire and Kathleen Estill; great-grandchildren, Will and Lilah Hoskins; a friend and caregiver, Steve Muse; and many loved nieces and nephews.
Dr. Estill is survived by his sister, Mary Cropper and brother, Andrew Estill; and was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Wil-lie and Jack; and a sister, Kathleen Hilterbrand.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., on Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at St. Patrick Church in Maysville.
Interment will follow in the St. Patrick Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., on Mon-day at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in May’s Lick.
In lieu of flowers ex-pressions of sympathy are suggested to St. Patrick School.

MR. FRYMAN
BROOKSVILLE | Greg-ory Lee Fryman, 43, died Saturday, May 12, 2012.
He was born on July 30, 1968, to the late Carol Ju-nior Fryman and Anna June Glasscock Fryman.
He was a member of the California Methodist Church.
He is survived by two children, Gregory Lee Fry-man Jr. of St. Louis, Mo., and Brandi Kay Fryman of Augusta. He is also sur-vived by his brothers and sisters, Pete Fryman of California, Carolina Brown of Latonia, Kenny Fryman
of Covington, Gary Fry-man of Morristown, Tenn., and Carrie Sherman of Brooksville.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, William Fryman and Den-ny Fryman.
Services are 1 p.m., on Tuesday at Moore and Parker Funeral Home in Brooksville.
Burial will be at Bracken Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. — 1 p.m., on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Gary Fryman Memorial Fund.

MR. GREENE
MAYSVILLE | Jeffrey Allen Greene, 54, passed away Saturday, May 5, 2012, in Cincinnati.
Jeffrey was born in Maysville, to the late James B. and Carolyn Dudley Greene.
Survivors include a son, Damone A. (Wendy Myers) Greene; two daughters, Charday B. Greene and Laurie Felder; a grandson, Treyson Keith Greene; a sister, Peggy Greene; and a brother, James B. Greene.
Services are incomplete at Brell and Son Funeral Home at this time.
MR. SEBALDRIPLEY, Ohio | Jason
David Sebald, age 35, of
Aberdeen, Ohio, died Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at his residence.
He was a United States Navy Persian Gulf War veteran and a machine operator.
He was born Aug. 2, 1976, in Dayton, Ohio.
Jason is survived by his father, David John Sebald of Aberdeen, Ohio; his mother and stepfather, Jo and Rick Smead of Fair-born, Ohio; one sister, Carrie Dever of Fairborn, Ohio; one niece, Alexis Marie Diltz; two aunts, Dianne Theodore of Deltona, Fla., and Laura Pfaff of Dayton, Ohio; his grandmother, Marilyn Spicer of Kettering, Ohio; and a great aunt, Jane Hufziger of Middletown, Ohio.
Services will be held at 2 p.m., on Monday, May 14, 2012, at Cahall Funeral Home in Ripley.
Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m., on Monday, at the funeral home.
Interment will fol-low the funeral service in Charter Oak Cemetery in Aberdeen.

NEW YORK | Donald “Duck” Dunn, the bassist who helped create the gritty Memphis soul sound at Stax Records in the 1960s as part of the legendary group Booker T. and the MGs and contributed to such clas-sics as “In the Midnight Hour,” ‘’Hold On, I’m Com-ing” and “Sitting on the Dock of the Bay,” died Sunday at 70.
Dunn, whose legacy as one of the most respected session musicians in the business also included work with John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd’s Blues Brothers as well as with Levon Helm, Eric Clapton, Neil Young and Bob Dylan, died while on tour in Tokyo.
News of his death was posted on the Facebook site of his friend and fellow musician Steve Cropper, who was on the same tour. Cropper said Dunn died in his sleep.
Dunn was born in Memphis, Tenn., in 1941, and ac-cording to the biography on his official website, was nicknamed for the cartoon character by his father. His father, a candy maker, did not want him to be a musi-cian.
“He thought I would become a drug addict and die. Most parents in those days thought music was a pas-time, something you did as a hobby, not a profession,” Dunn said.
But by the time Dunn was in high school, he was in a band with Cropper.
Cropper left to become a session player at Stax, the Memphis record company that would become known for its soul recordings and artists such as Otis Redding, Sam and Dave, Isaac Hayes and the Staples Singers.
