SAVE TIME AND GET BETTER RESULTS. Yes the image is important, however the headline is where the money is. Spending
a moment to create that perfect headline will pay you over and over.
Creating a great headline is the same as creating great copy. It is part of the silent
salesman you employ to work on your behalf while you are doing other things and
if you are following the rest of our training on running your facebook page and
facebook profile correctly then you will be starting to see an increase in the results
you see.
1. Use Numbers In Your Headline. Preferably At The Front.
Numbers work, we all know it and the research proves it. Putting a number in
front of your headline will get you more people clicking or looking at your
post.
In fact you are 36% more likely to have your post clicked on if you put a number
at the front (thank you Moz)
Be odd… It pays!
And “Outbrain” after looking at data from over 150,000 article headlines found
that an “Odd number” will get 20% more clicks than an even…

2. 5 Words Are Best
Not 2, 3, 4 …. But 5. AdEspresso has been doing research since 2015 on what
is the right amount of words for a headline and they have consistently come up with
…FIVE! Yes 5. It has been the same every year.
The data took into account the amount of “Likes, Shares and Comments”
received on a post and Facebook themselves seemed to agree. This ad that
has been called the “perfect ad” that was placed by Facebook has only 5
words…

3. Use An Emoticon At The Start Of Your Headline.
Now I know that some of you may think that using Emoticons seems a little childish,
however from our research, testing and results we have found that our clicks,
comments, interaction increases every time.
Be sure not to over use them though or you will find your audience becoming
desensitized to them. Itʼs like the “Boy who cried wolf”. People like variety and
they want to know they can trust what you are saying.
Colour: We have found that Red and Orange Emoticons will get I best results.

4. Connect Heading With Your Image
I know you may be thinking “of course” but this is one thing that I have seen many
not do. Make sure your posts are “congruent” with the message you want to
send to the world and it is in alignment with your brand.
Family posts will always and have always received the biggest response. Be
careful not to use your family too much in your posts though unless your
business is very connected that way. People will think you are using your children
for marketing, and this may cause a negative affect on your growth.

5. Use Urgency
This A/B Split test is possibly one of the most jaw dropping examples of what a
couple of small changes can do to create a massive difference.
The “Fear Of Missing Out” (FOMO) and urgency combined to create an
incredible response. Marketers increased their response by a whopping 332%
Thank you AdEspresso for this information.

6. Emotional Words Work… Yes Men, Itʼs Time
To Get Emotional… Well Kind Of!
Have you ever heard the saying “We buy with emotion and we rationalise with
logic”? Itʼs true and results prove it. This is why the car dealer wants you to
drive the car, the real estate agent wants you to see, touch and feel the house
and the travel agent, a good one, will spend a lot of time on the dream you
have for your holiday.
The same is true for your headlines. Take time to add an emotional word into your headline.

Hereʼs some examples of using emotional words in your headings:
- I was furious when I read this…
- I canʼt remember laughing so hard …
– You will be surprised to hear…
– I fell in love with mu chefs new…
– Do you admire a person who finally…
As you can see, adding one emotional word can completely change your desire to
read or move past a post.
7. Add Your Call To Action
The biggest mistake entrepreneurs make is they do everything right all the way
up to the time to ask for the sale. They go weak kneed when itʼs time to get the
money. Rather than be bold and tell the customer what they need to do, they
become vague or donʼt ask at all.
A strong call to action headline will compel your followers to take action and to
know what to do next.
The Luxe Lens leaves no doubt that customers needed to act within a certain
time frame if they wanted to take advantage of their sale.

8. Make Clear And Understandable Headlines
We all get busy and sometimes it is easier to just throw something up onto our
page without any thought just because you know you have to get some content
up on your page.
However it is always worthwhile to take some time and put some thought into it.
Remember your headline is a money generating tool that is working for you
while you are sleeping. So treat it with some respect and it will pay you over and
over.

Hereʼs an example:
No thought headline: Love coffee?
Variation 1: Enjoy that feeling of “ahhhh” when you drink Sydneyʼs best
coffee.
Variation 2: Are you as passionate about your coffee as we are?
Experience the difference today.
Variation 3: Stop being disappointed when you order coffee!
Youʼll love our coffee or itʼs free!
9. Use Compelling Words
As far back as 1963, David Ogilvy wrote a list of power words that aroused
attention and caused a reaction.
Hereʼs the list:
1. suddenly
2. now
3. announcing
4. introducing
5. improvement
6. amazing
7. sensational
8. remarkable
9. revolutionary
10. startling
11. miracle
12. magic
13. offer
14. quick
15. easy
16. wanted
17. challenge
18. compare
19. bargain
20. hurry
Warning: Donʼt use more than one in your headline. Too many will actually cause a
negative impact on your results.

10. Say Who You Are Targeting.
Make it easy for your reader to know who it is you are wanting to read your post.
We are always “scanning” the page and it is a word or image that grabs our
attention. So use the word that specifically speaks to the person you are
looking for.
Eg: Men….
Women…
Business Owners…
Personal Trainers…
