Welcome to our dispersal sale of R&L Angus! It has been a tough process to come to this decision. Lynne and I, as well as our family, have poured our

heart and soul into the Angus business. We have worked for over 20 years to successfully get this program to where it is today. Our commitment and

involvement in the Angus breed and the beef industry filters through all aspects of our lives.

I work for Merck Animal Health and travel a territory in Kansas promoting animal health products. Also, my partnership in Crossroads Real Estate &

Auction, LLC out of Wamego occupies many of our weekends. Lynne has successfully been operating Express Employment Professionals for the last

12 years in Manhattan. Coupled with the positions we serve on national and state Angus boards and other organizations, we are feeling the crunch on

our time. Lynne and I have depended on my parents, Bill and Judy, to do a lot of the work and keep us in line. I would like to publicly thank them for

their hard work and dedication. Although they still like to work and take care of the cattle, we think they deserve to relax and do more of what they

want to do.

Another part of making this decision is the challenge to get enough grass to run our cowherd and trying to manage our cowherd on a small amount of

acreage. Since we are not able to expand and run our Angus herd the way we want, we are offering the R&L Angus program to you. The Angus breed

is the best breed in the world to be involved in. The CAB program has created the demand for Angus genetics. The American Angus Association has

developed data, information and now DNA technology to catapult the breed over all other breeds. We can’t think of another breed that a young couple

can utilize and market cattle as successfully as you can in the Angus breed.

The cattle offered here are a very young group of outstanding females. We have not chased any fads, breeding cattle for strong production traits.

We think you will find the EPDs to be balanced and not necessarily extreme in any numbers. We have tried to choose bulls with good structure in

combination with calving ease, growth and carcass characteristics. We believe this cowherd is capable of surviving in many environmental conditions.

Fleshing ability has been an important trait in our selections.

The cow families in our offering are from some of the best families in the breed. The Georgina family will feature some great females to produce

production-oriented cattle or show cattle as well. Everelda Entense 3035, the first donor cow Lynne and I purchased, is the foundation cow of our herd.

Her daughters have done an excellent job with many different matings. Bull calves out of her or her daughters have often topped our bull sale. The

Elga Erica cow has been a more recent addition to our donor program and is doing an awesome job as well. You will find the Balance 1020 bull in

the offering a testimonial to her ability.

As we close one chapter of our operation, we prepare to continue with the next generation. Cale and Eva are keeping a few of the cows they have

shown in the past few years. They will continue to show cattle and with their involvement in the National Junior Angus Association and Kansas Junior

Angus Association. We will also continue our involvement throughout the Angus and beef industries. We are not going away, just refocusing our efforts.

On behalf of the Hinrichsen family, welcome to the R&L Angus Dispersion. The decision to have this sale was not an easy one for Ron andLynne, but due to the factors detailed in their letter, a necessary one.

This sale will mark the end of the first chapter of R&L Angus but is by no means the end of the Hinrichsen family’s involvement in the Angusbreed. Cale and Eva have worked to build a small cow herd through the heifers that they have exhibited and will continue to grow theirprogram. R&L is a family operation and will continue to be, with Ron and Lynne supporting not only the development of their children’sbreeding program but also the exhibition of their show cattle and their involvement in the National Junior Angus Association and Kansas JuniorAngus Association. Ron and Lynne also plan to continue their involvement throughout the Angus and beef industries. They are not going away,just refocusing their efforts in order to better enjoy family, friends and cattle.
