Product OverviewParaslim is a modular cantilever formwork system designed to facilitate the construction of edge projections, parapets and string courses of composite steel girder and precast concrete bridge decks. It may also be used to construct the capping beams to sheet piles. The system is based on a triangular frame consisting of a Superslim top chord with a tube and turnbuckle undercarriage. Brackets are laced together with tube fittings to produce a formwork module erected and dismantled by crane.

SaferAnchorages connecting the Paraslim system to steel girders are fully tested and certified in factory conditions, ensuring safety in use.

Key Features & BenefitsThe Paraslim SafetieTies do not project above the top of the deck slab, reducing the risk of trips, punctures and impalements,improving safety on site.
Prefabrication of frames & modulesPre assembly of the equipment on the ground enhances safety, reduces erection times and speeds up both initial and repeat usage. Labour, plant and material costs along with construction programming are significantly reduced.
Paraslim BracketInnovative support solutions from the top flange are independent of girder depth, reducing deflection and grout loss to a minimum, thus standardising construction and reducing the cost of making good.

In DetailParaslim SafetieTies do no project above the top of the deck slab improving safety on site. Easily removed with the Paraslim Safetie Spanner.
Paraslim Safetie porthole bearingThe tie is secured to the soldier via a Paraslim Safetie porthole bearing. On removal of the tie from above during stripping the porthole bearing is prevented from falling out by a spring clip. The wing nut within is made captive with a rubber O ring.
Ground level pre-fabricationPre-fabricated on the ground before being crane handled into position. Adjustments can be made in a safe and secure environment without the need to go beneath the deck slab.
Innovative support solutions - Steel BeamsOn steel beam bridges RMDK can supply positions of Paraslim support brackets in advance to allow studs to be drawn-arc welded to the steel beams at the fabricators. Alternatively the Paraslim support bracket or weld studs can be welded on top of the beams on site if necessary.

In DetailParaslim FramesFrames consist of a Superslim soldier top chord supporting Alform or timber backing members to a plywood soffit.
AlformAlform is the preferred secondary member for Paraslim Safetie. The versatile, lightweight and durable beam.
Precast BeamsOn pre-stressed concrete beam bridges RMDK can supply positions of Paraslim support brackets in advance to allow casting in of RMDK anchor sockets at the precasting works. Alternatively the Paraslim support bracket can be fixed to the top of the beams with a post drilled anchor.
Paraslim UndercarriageThe diagonal member of the undercarriage is a Superslim turnbuckle which, when rotated adjusts the tilt of the deck soffit. The remaining side of the frame is made up of a telescopic Paraslim tube inner and outer which is adjustable in length to suit a range of depths of bridge beams. For deeper beams or precast beams, generally a Superslim Soldier would be used as the vertical member.
