    Behringer BCR2000 Controller Template

Using a hardware controller with Stylus RMX gives you maximum control

over your groove production. You can edit, re-mix, and manipulate RMX

grooves instantly in real time. It’s powerful, fun, and musically rewarding!

There are two main steps to perform in order to get started; loading the

MIDI sysex data for the BCR2000, and selecting the template in Stylus RMX.

The BCR2000 features a great collection of push-style encoders, knobs and

switches. The template takes full advantage of those features – every singlecontrol is used.

    STEP 1 – SET UP THE BCR2000

Make sure you have installed the hardware and software for the BCR2000

    according to Behringer’s documentation.

MIDI system exclusive preset data must be sent to the BCR2000. You canuse any sys-ex utility that supports .syx files.

For Mac OSX, we suggest SysEx Librarian, a freeware tool available at:

    http://www.snoize.com/SysExLibrarian/

For PC, we recommend MIDI-OX, which is available at:

    http://www.midiox.com/moxdown.htm

    TRANSFERRING SYSEX TO THE BCR2000

IMPORTANT - This procedure places preset data into BCR2000

temporary memory. After you have transferred the sysex file, you

will need to STORE it to the desired preset location.

    1.  Open the RMX_BCR2000.syx file in the Sysex tool you have chosen.

The file is located in the Behringer BCR-2000 support directory within

    the MIDI Learn directory.

    …/SAGE/Stylus RMX/Patches/MIDI Learn/Behringer BCR-2000/RMX_BCR2000.syx

    2.  Initiate a sysex transfer to the BCR2000. You will see the display onthe BCR2000 flashing. Once the transfer is complete, the flashing will

    stop.

    3.  The preset data is now in the temporary memory buffer of theBCR2000. To save it permanently, be sure to press the STORE button

on the BCR2000, select the destination preset location for storage, and

    then press STORE again.

Make sure you have Stylus RMX version 1.5 or above installed.

SELECT THE CONTROLLER TEMPLATE IN RMX

From the Stylus RMX Utility menu (the button denoted with a Floppy icon),

select MIDI Learn / Load Template.

    Select the template Behringer BCR-2000.ctl_rmx

You are ready to control Stylus RMX from the BCR2000.

    USING RMX AND THE BCR2000

The Behringer BCR-2000.ctl_rmx template works with the preset you

    stored in the BCR2000.

Be sure that your host application is sending MIDI to RMX; then load grooves

    into all 8 parts.

The table at the end of this document shows how the BCR2000 hardware

controls are mapped to Stylus RMX. Have fun exploring the amazing features

of Stylus RMX from your hardware controller!

CREATE AND SHARE YOUR OWN TEMPLATES

The template we have provided is only the beginning of what you can do with

your hardware controller and Stylus RMX. We’ve provided a blank table for

you to document your own Controller Template creations. You will find it in

the User Template Tools folder, which is located inside the MIDI Learndirectory on your hard drive.

    …/SAGE/Stylus RMX/Patches/MIDI Learn/User Template Tools/)

We encourage you to create your own templates, and then share them at the

    Yahoo Spectrasonics User Group:

    http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/spectrasonics/

Enjoy using Stylus RMX with your BCR2000.

    Best regards,

    The Spectrasonics Team
