How can we assist CCC’s students to be successful?We have developed a 3-prong approach by focusing on:• Increasing student engagement• Through a revitalized Orientation Course

• Student success• Orientation Course• Multi-touch Advising Model

• Student retention• Guided advising keeping the student involved and on track to

graduate on time• Showing that we care about through Multi-touch advising

Advisement is the focal point of the 5-year plan• Advisors will electronically document all advisees’ contacts in the

MyCCC portal for data collection• All students will receive a minimum of 2 touches/meetings per

semester (some may get more if needed)• During these meetings the student will participate in

Orientation & Student Success Course

LLS 1311 8-week course:Ø “Reinforce” the Advisement ProcessØ “Choice” Assessment for use in “Student Career Plan”ØCCC Support Services studied through CCC Guest Facilitators,

online tutorials & quizzes in CanvasØWeek 3 meeting with advisor to complete “Student Career

PlanӯCommunity Guest Facilitators visit in person/videotape

focusing on time & money management, interpersonal skills, trouble shooting and working in groups, etc.

QEP GoalsGoal 1:Ø First-time ever in college (FTEIC) students will become ENGAGED with faculty in a

well-designed, well orchestrated advising plan that leads to student success.Goal 2:Ø FTEIC students will become actively ENGAGED in their education by completing a

revitalized orientation course within the first 21 hours of their enrollmentGoal 3:Ø To RETAIN 90% of the FTEIC students by the end of Year 5 of this plan. (Our

benchmark is 50%)

How will Goals be measured?Goal 1:ØAdvisors will document meeting dates and contact notes with advisees in the

MyCCC portal. Data collection for annual QEP report to SACS-COC.Goal 2:ØData of FTEIC students completing the orientation course in Canvas will be

collected for data analysis for QEP Annual Report.Goal 3:Ø Tracking of the FTEIC student from semester 1 to semester 2, semester 3, etc. for

retention rates. (Analysis for QEP Annual Report)

Professional DevelopmentTo foster an environment of change for CCC, the following Professional Development opportunities will be provided during our 5-year process:ü Faculty & Counselors trained in QEP Canvas course for: (January – August 2020)

o Advisemento Orientationo Early Alerts

ü 2 one hour Zoom Virtual Training for Advisement, Orientation and Early Alerts with QEP Director, Co-Director, Enrollment Manager and IT consultant (April 2020)

ü LLS 1311 Course Instructor Trainingo QEP Director leads a 2-hour training for instructorso Training includes working in Canvas
