ABOUTTHISMANUALMoreandmorepeoplearejoiningtheranksofboatowners.Thismanualiswritten for the first‐timeboatowneroroperator.Even ifyouareanexperiencedboater, youwill findmuchvaluable information regardingthesafeoperationandmaintenanceofyournewRobaloboat.Keepthismanualonyourboatforreadyreference.Duetoourpolicyofcontinuousproduct improvement, the illustrationsused in thismanualmay not be identical to the components, controls,gauges, etc. on your boat, as they are intended to be representativereference views. CONSTRUCTIONANDSTANDARDSAllRobaloboatsmeet or exceed the construction standards set by theU.S. Coast Guard, the National Marine Manufacturers Association(NMMA),andtheAmericanboatandYachtCouncil(ABYC)concerning

NMMAcertificationmeansthattheboatcomplieswithapplicablefederalregulations set forth by the U.S. Coast Guard. These regulations arebased on American Boat ad Yacht Council (ABYC) standards andrecommendedpractices.

MostRobalomodelscanbecertifiedtocarrytheCEmark.TheCEmarkcertifiesthattheboatmeetsrelevantpartsoftheEuropeanDirectiveforRecreationalCraft94/25/ECof theEuropeanParliament, includingtheInternationalOrganizationforStandards(ISO)andRecreationalMarineAgreement Group (RMAG) guidelines in effect at the time ofmanufacture.

Werecommendthatyouseeyourdealer ifyouwishtomodifyfactory‐installed equipmentor addnewequipment. Yourdealer isqualified tomake such modifications or additions without placing the safety ordesign integrity of your boat at risk and without invalidating thewarranty. GelcoatThe advanced technology polyesterwe use offers superiorweatheringresistancetosurfaceyellowingandchalking.Itwillalsohelpprotectandmaintain the original glossy luster of your boat’s finish. Robalo uses apremiumqualitygelcoatwhichoffersimprovedflexibilityoverothergel‐coats,minimizingthepotentialforcracking.

ResinIt’s an age‐old problem.Water penetrates the gelcoat and blisters thebottom.Thekey is the resin.To cut costs,mostuse a general purposeresin.Robalousesapremiumqualityresininthehullskincoatofeveryboat in our line because of its superior bonding characteristics andexceptionalflex.

LoomWrapWiringAttention to rigging detail is a Robalo hallmark. Instead of routing theenginewiringharnesshaphazardlyinthebilgeinblacktape,werelyonautomotivestyleflexguardloomthatnotonlykeepsthingsneatbutalsoprotectsagainstabrasion.

ThroughBoltedStainlessSteelCleatsIt’s one of the most often used components on your boat, but mostpeoplethinkacleatisacleat,right?Wrong.Robalo’scleatsarestainlesssteel so theywon’t corrode and so theywon’t twist.Also, ours arebigenoughtoacceptafull‐sizedloopedline.

HeavyDutyRubRailA rub rail is supposed to protect your boat. Robalo uses a heavy‐dutyPVC rub rail with stainless steel insert that absorbs far more impactwithoutdenting.

AcrylicTopsOursareacrylicbecauseit’sasuperiormaterialthatwon’tcrack,peel,ormildew.Further,ouracrylic topswon’tshrinkorexpand,whichmeanstheylookandfitbetterinallweatherconditions.

StainResistantFabricsAccidentshappen.Spilleddrinks,wetbathingsuitsandsoggytowelsareafactoflifeonaboat.Allourcabinfabricsarestainresistant.Buyerscanchoosefromawidevarietyofcolors.Whenitcomestointeriorfabrics,wehavetheonethat’srightforyou.

SuperiorPlasticsvs.WoodRobalopridesitselfonbuildingseatsthatarenotonlycomfortable,butdurable.We use plastic seats because they hold their shape and don’tretainwater,reducingthepotentialforfoamdeterioration.

FlotationRequirementsAll Robalo boats meet or exceed U.S. Coast Guard requirements forflotation.

BoatOwnerYourresponsibilitiesincludethefollowing:

1. Read this manual as well as all other manuals and informationincludedinyourowner’spacket.

2. Scheduleanappointmentwithyourdealertogooverallwarranties.Keeparecordofthehullnumberforfuturereference.

3. Inspecttheboatatthetimeofdeliverytomakesureallsystemsandcomponents areoperatingproperly.Robalo recommends that yourefer to your engine warranty for initial inspection and servicerequirements.

Thenewboatandpre‐deliveryinspectionform(foundtowardsthebackof this chapter) will help you as you inspect your new boat. Aftercompletingyourinspection,signtheformtocertifyyouhaveinspectedtheboatwithyourdealer.

4. Schedule an appointment with your dealer to go over the pre‐delivery engine service record. Sign this record to indicate yourdealerhasexplainedthisrecordtoyou.

5. Operate all equipment in accordance with the manufacturer’sinstructions.

6. Becomefamiliarwithallfederal,state,andlocallawsaffectingyourboatanditsoperation.

7. Perform or provide for the appropriate periodic maintenanceoutlinedinthemanualsandserviceguides.

LAWSANDREGULATIONSThis section of the manual includes general information aboutgovernmentregulations.You,theboater,areresponsible forcomplyingwith the requirementsof federal, state, and local laws. If youhaveanyquestions,contacttheU.S.CoastGuardorotherappropriateauthority.BoatRegistrationFederal and state laws require that every boat having propulsionmachinery of any type must be registered in the main state of usage.Registrationnumbersandvalidationstickersmustbedisplayedon theboat according to regulations. The registration certificate must becarriedonboardwhentheboatisinuse.SafetyEquipmentThefollowingequipmentisrequiredonallboats: DisplayofRegistrationNumbers Fireextinguishers Personalflotationdevices(PFD’s) Navigationlights Visualdistresssignal Soundsignalingdevice

SeeChapter2formoreinformationaboutsafetyequipment.

DischargeofOilTheFederalWaterPollutionControlActprohibitsthedischargeofoiloroilywaste intooruponthenavigablewaterof theUnitedStatesor thewaters of the contiguous zone if such discharge cause a film or sheenupon,oradiscolorationof,thesurfaceofthewaterorcausesasludgeoremulsion beneath the surface of the water. Violators are subject to apenalty.

DisposalofPlasticsandOtherGarbagePlasticrefusedumpedinthewatercankillfishandmarinewildlifeandcan foul vessel propellers and cooling water intakes. Other forms ofwaterborne garbage can litter beaches and cause illness. U.S. CoastGuard regulations therefore strictly prohibit dumping plastic refuse orothergarbagemixedwithplasticintothewateranywhere.Further,theregulations restrict the dumping of other forms of garbage within 12milesfromshoreontheeastcoast,and9milesfromshoreonthewestcoast.

Within3milesofshoreand inU.S. lakes, rivers,bays,andsounds, it isillegaltodumpplastic,dunnage,lining,andpackingmaterialsthatfloat;andanygarbageexceptdishwater,graywater,andfreshfishparts.

Between3and12milesitisillegaltodumpplastic,dunnage,lining,andpackingmaterialsthatfloat;andanygarbagenotgroundtolessthanonesquareinch.

Between 12 and 25miles it is illegal to dump plastic, dunnage, lining,andpackingmaterialsthatfloat.

Beyond25milesitisillegaltodumpplastic.

TheU.S.CoastGuardhasissuedtheseregulationstoimplementAnnexoftheInternationalConventionforthePreventionofPollutionfromShips,1973,commonlyknownasAnnexVof theMARPOL(MarinePollution)Treaty 73/78. They apply to all U.S. vessels wherever they operate(exceptwaters under the exclusive jurisdiction of a state), and foreignvessels operating in U.S. waters out to and including the ExclusiveEconomicZone(200miles).

If your boat is 26 feet or more in length, the regulations require U.S.recreational boaters attach one or more Coast Guard Trash dumpingRestrictions placards to your boat. The placard warns against thedischarge of plastic and other garbagewith U.S. navigable waters andspecifies discharge restrictions beyond the territorial sea (generallywithin3ormorenauticalmilesofshore).

Theplacardmustalsocontainthewarningthatapersonviolatingtheserequirementsisliableforcivilandcriminalpenalties.Theplacardmustalso state that local regulations may further restrict the discharge ofgarbage. You may purchase these placards from local marinas, boatdealers,ormarineequipmentsuppliers.

TheU.S.CoastGuardhasalsoissuedregulationsrequiringboatstohavesanitationsystemonboardtocontrolpollution.Wastesaretobestoredinaholdingtankorotherdevice,suchasPorta‐Potti,untilthedevicecanbepumpedoutorotherwisedisposedofatashorefacility.Dischargingthiswasteoverboard is inmostcasesprohibited.CheckwiththeCoastGuardregardingregulationsinyourarea.

OWNER’SLOGSANDRECORDSAt theendof thischapterare three(3) formswhichyouwill findveryhelpful.

Use theBoatDataRecord to record all important information aboutyour boat and themajor components installed. Print a copy and afteryouhaveenteredallthedata,storeit inasafeplace.Donotkeepthisformaboardyourboat.

TheTravelPlanLog provides a recordof your destination, departureandreturntimes,boatdescription,passengerlist,andotherinformationaboutthetripyouhaveplanned.Atthebottomoftheformisspaceforlistingemergencytelephonenumbersincaseyourreturnisdelayedpasttheexpectedtime.Italsohasspaceforindicatinginformationabouttheperson filling this report. Leave the completed form ashore with aresponsibleperson.Werecommendyouprintseveralcopiesofthisformeachboatingseasontoensureanamplesupply.

TheFuelUsageChart is a handyway to record information coveringengine hours, fuel consumption, miles traveled, as well as RPM(revolutions per minute), Average MPH (miles per hour), and GPH(gallonsperhour).

WARRANTYPOLICYTRANSFERYour Robalo boat is backed by a Limited Express Warranty. It isimportantthatyouareawareofitsterms.IfaproblemariseswithyourRobaloboatasaresultofworkmanshipormaterials,contactyourdealerassoonaspossibletodeterminewhethercorrectingtheproblemmaybecovered by the warranty. Please have your hull identification numberand necessary model numbers on hand for the items that may needserviceorrepair.Yourhullidentificationnumberisbelowtherubrailonthestarboardaftcornerofyourboat.

TheRobaloLimitedWarrantyPolicymaybetransferredtosubsequentowner(s)providingtheOwnershipTransferRecord(OTR)iscompletedandreturnedtotheRobaloCustomerServiceOffice.TheOTRislocatedafter the Robalo Limited Warranty Policy in Section 11. Subsequentowner(s) will receive the balance of warranty available subject to a$100.00 deductible per occurrence for claims filed in accordancewiththeRobaloLimitedWarrantyPolicy.TheOwnershipTransferfeevariesdepending on the boat model and size. See the Robalo OwnershipTransferRecordfordetailsandassociatedfees.YOUareresponsibleforyoursafetyandyourboat,aswellasthesafetyofpassengersandotherboaters.

You should fully understand andbecomefamiliarwiththeoperatingproceduresandsafetyprecautionsinthis manual and the other manuals in the owner’s packet before youlaunchyourRobaloboat.

Remember that along with the freedom and exhilaration of boatingcomestheresponsibilitythatyouhaveforthesafetyofyourpassengersand the other boaterswho share thewaterwith you. Throughout thismanual, specific precautions and symbols identify safety‐relatedinformation.Besuretopaycloseattentiontothem.

SafeOperation Keepyourboat andequipment in safeoperating condition. Inspect

thehull,engine(s),safetyequipment,andallboatinggearregularly. Be very careful when fueling your boat. Be sure you know the

capacity of your boat’s fuel tank and the amount of fuel you usewhenoperatingat frequentlyusedenginespeeds(RPMs).AskyourRobalodealeraboutthecapacityofyourboat’sfueltank.

Make sure you have enough fuel on board for anticipated cruisingrequirements. In general, use 1/3 of your supply to reach yourdestinationanduse1/3toreturn.Keep1/3inreserveforchangesinyourplansduetoweatherorothercircumstances.

Besurelifesavingandfireextinguishingequipmentisonboard.Thisequipment must meet regulatory standards and it should benoticeable, accessible, and in safe operating condition. Yourpassengersshouldknowwherethisequipmentisandhowtouseit.

Keep an eye on the weather. Be aware of possible changingconditionsbycheckinglocalweatherreportsbeforeyourdeparture.Monitorstrongwindsandelectricalstormsclosely.

Alwayskeepaccurate,updatedchartsoftheareaonboardyourboat. Before you leave the port harbor, file a Travel Plan with a family

member,relative,friend,orotherresponsiblepersonashore. Alwaysoperateyourboatwithcare,courtesy,andcommonsense. Instructat leastoneotherpassengeraboard in thebasicoperating

procedures inhandlingyourboat.Thispersoncan takeover ifyouunexpectedlybecomeunabletodoso.

Do not allow passengers to ride on parts of your boat other thandesignatedareas.

Askedallpassengerstoremainseatedwhileontheboatisinmotion. Donotusetheswimplatformorboardingladderwhiletheengine(s)

arerunning. Understand and obey the “Rules of the Road.” Always maintain

completecontrolofyourboat. Donotoverloadorimproperlyloadyourboat.

The information on your boat’s capacity plate does not override yourresponsibility for using common sense or sound judgment. Turbulentwater andunfavorableweather conditions reduce the capacity of yourboat.

Swimming1. Swim only in areas designated as safe for swimming. These are

usuallymarkedwithaswimareabuoy(seefigureleft).Donotswimaloneoratnight.

2. Donotallowanyonenearthepropeller(s),evenwhentheengineisoff.Propellerbladescanbesharpandcancontinuetoturnevenaftertheengineisoff.Staywellawayfromareasmarkedbyadiverdownfloat(seefigureright).

Ifyouhaveamarineradiotelephone,heedstormwarningsandansweranydistress calls fromotherboats.Theword “MAYDAY” spoken three(3) times is the international signal of distress. Monitor marine radiochannel16whichisreservedforemergencyandsafetymessages.

Important: Never send a “MAYDAY” message unless there is aseriousemergencyandyouareinneedofimmediateassistance.

WarningMarkersAlwayscheckwithlocalauthoritiesconcerningregionalhazardousareasandhowtheyaremarked.Otherconsiderationsinclude:

Boat operatorsmust be able to recognizemarine flag designs andrespondaccordingly.

Cautionshouldalwaysbeexercisedrelativetoswimmers.Swimmingareasmaynotalwaysbemarked.

Navigation markers identify navigable routes and indicate waterhazards. Boat operators should familiarize themselves with theseimportantnavigationaltoolsandoperatetheirboatsaccordingly.

Be prepared to assist anyone flying a ‘distress’ flag as they arerequestingimmediateassistance.

DrugsandAlcoholDrugsandalcoholaffectaperson’sabilitytomakesoundjudgmentsandreactquickly.Aresponsibleboaterrefrainsfromusingdrugsoralcoholwhileoperatingtheirboat.Operationofmotorizedvesselswhileunderthe influence carries a significant penalty. Drugs and alcohol decreaseyour reaction time, impair your judgment, and inhibit your ability tosafelyoperateyourboat.

SAFETYEQUIPMENTImportant:  Federal  law  requires  you  to  provide  and  maintain  safety equipment  on  your  Robalo  boat. As  the  boat  owner,  you  are  responsible for supplying all required safety equipment. Consult your Coast Guard, state, and  local  regulations  to  ensure  your  boat  has  all  required  safety equipment on board. Additional equipment may be recommended for your safety and  that of your passengers. Make yourself aware of  its availability and use. 

PersonalFlotationDevices(PFDs)There must be one United States Coast Guard approved wearablepersonalflotationdeviceofTypeI,II,orIIIforeachpersononboardorbeingtowedonwaterskis,watersportstubes,kneeboards,etc.andoneTypeIVthrowabledeviceonboard.ThePFDsmustbeofasuitablesizefor each person aboard and must be in serviceable condition andreadilyaccessible.

PFD Type I, Wearable: This off‐shore life jacket has the greatestbuoyancy. It is most effective for all waters where rescue may bedelayed. Itsdesignallows for turningmostunconsciouspersons in thewaterfromafacedownpositiontoaverticalorface‐upposition.

PFDTypeII,Wearable: This near‐shore buoyant vest provides lessbuoyancy than a Type I PFD. It is intended for calm inland water orwaters where there is a chance of quick rescue. It turns its wearerto a face‐upposition as does theType I PFD, but the turning action isnot as pronounced as theType I, and itwill not turnasmanypersonsunderthesameconditionsasaTypeI.PFDTypeIII,Wearable: Classified as a flotation aid, this PFD allowswearerstoplacethemselvesinaverticalorface‐uppositioninthewater.TypeIIIhas thesameminimumbuoyancyasaTypeIIPFD. Ithas littleor no turning ability. People participating inwater sports often preferthis PFD because it intended for use in waters where quick rescue ispossibleanditisgenerallythemostcomfortableforcontinuouswear.

PFDTypeIV,Throwable:Youmustalsohaveaboardatleastonethrow‐ablePFDTypeIVdevice.TheTypeIVdevicecanbethrowntoapersoninthewater and grasped and held by the user until rescued.The designdoesnotallowittobeworn.ThemostcommonTypeIVPFDsarebuoy‐antcushionsorringbuoys.ThisPFDmustbeimmediatelyavailableforuseandinserviceablecondition.

PFDTypeV: Must be worn to be effective.When inflated, it providesbuoyancyequivalenttoTypeI,II,orIIIPFDs.

FireExtinguishersAs theboatowner,youareresponsible formakingsureyouhave therequired number of fi re extinguishers. Fire extinguishers must beapprovedbytheU.S.CoastGuard.Boats longer than 26 feet and shorter than 40 feet:TwoTypeB‐1 orat least oneTypeB‐2portable hand extinguishers. If yourboat has afixedfireextinguishingsystemapprovedby theU.S.CoastGuard,oneTypeB‐1extinguisherisrequired.Boats longer than 16 feet and shorter than 26 feet: At least oneportablehandTypeB‐Ifireextinguisher.All fire extinguishers should be mounted in a readily accessiblelocation away from the engine compartment. Everyone on boardshould knowwherethefireextinguishersareandhowtooperatethem.If your fire extinguisher has a charge indicator gauge, cold or hotweathermayaffect thegaugereading.Consult the instructionmanualsupplied with the fire extinguisher to determine the accuracy of thegauge.VisualDistressSignalsTheU.S.CoastGuardrequiresallboatsoperatingonU.S.coastalwatershave visual distress signal equipment on board. In general, coastalwatersincludeallwatersexceptrivers,streams,andinlandlakes.TheGreat Lakes are considered coastal waters as is a river mouth morethan twomileswide.Boatsowned in theUnitedStatesandoperatingonthehighseasmustalsocarryvisualdistresssignalequipment.

Visualdistressequipmentmustbe inserviceableconditionandstowedinareadilyaccessiblelocation.Equipmenthavingadateshowingusefulservice life must be within the specified usage date shown. Bothpyrotechnic and non‐pyrotechnic equipmentmust be U.S. Coast Guardapproved.Pyrotechnic U.S. Coast Guard approved visual distress signals andassociatedequipmentincludes:

Redflares,hand‐held,oraerial Orangesmoke,hand‐heldorfloating Launchersforaerialredmeteorsorparachuteflares.

Non‐pyrotechnicequipmentincludesanorangedistressflagandanS‐O‐Selectricdistresslight.No single signaling device is ideal under all conditions for allpurposes. Consider carrying various types of equipment. Carefulselection and proper stowage of visual distress equipment are veryimportant. If young children are frequently aboard, you should selectdeviceswithpackageswhichchildren,butnotadults,willfinddifficulttoopen.SoundSignalingDeviceYour Robalo boatmust have a device that can produce a sound signalwhenconditionsrequire.Forboatsover26feet,thedevicemustbeabletoproduceatwo‐secondblastwhichcanbeheardamileaway.Forboatslessthan26feet,itmustbeabletoproduceatwo‐secondblastwhichcanbeheardone‐halfmileaway.Itcanbeahand,mouthorpoweroperatedhornorwhistle.RefertotheU.S.CoastGuard’spublication“NavigationalRules,International‐Inland”fordetailsabouttheappropriatesignals.

RUNNINGANDNAVIGATIONLIGHTSYourboatmusthaverunningandnavigationlightsforsafeoperationafterdark.Observeall navigation rules formeeting andpassing.Donot runat high speeds during night operation.Always use common sense andgoodjudgment.

SAFETYAFLOATOnceyourboatislaunchedandyourexcursionisunderway,youneedtobeawareofyoursurroundingsandhowtheymayaffectyoursafetyandthatofyourpassengers.Thereisnosubstituteforgoodjudgmentandcommonsense.WeatherStormsrarelyappearwithoutadvancenotice.Checktheweatherfore‐castbeforeyoubeginadayofboating.Beaware,however,thatweatherconditionscanchangerapidly.Ifyouhaveamarineradio,listentotheweatherreportsissuedbytheU.S.CoastGuardandothers.Ifyouhaveaportableradio,keepittunedtoastationbroadcastingfrequentweatherreports.Manyboatingclubsflyweathersignals.Learntorecognizethesesignalsandlistentoyourlocalforecastsbeforeleavingport.Yoursurroundingscanalsobeagoodindicatorofchangingweatherconditions.Watchforchangesinwinddirectionorcloudformations.Thereisnosubstituteforagoodunderstandingofweatherconditionsandwhattodowhentheweathertakesaturnfortheworse.FogFogisaresultofeitherwarm‐surfaceorcold‐surfaceconditions.Youcanjudgethelikelihoodoffogformationbyperiodicallymeasuringtheairtemperatureanddewpointtemperature.Ifthedifferencebetweenthesetwotemperaturesissmall,fogislikelytodevelop.Rememberthefollowingguidelines:

• Turnonrunninglights.• Unlessyourboatiswellequippedwithcharts,headforshoreatthefirstsignoffogandwaituntilconditionsimprove.Ifyouhavechartsonboard,takebearingsasfogsetsin,markyourposition,andcontinuetologyourcourseandspeed.

• Makesureallpersonsonboardhaveputon theirpersonal floatationdevices.

• If your boat has sounding equipment, take soundings regularly andmatchthemwithdepthsshownonyourcharts.

•Stationapersonforwardintheboatasalookout.

• Reduce your speed. From time to time, stop engine(s) and listen forotherfogsignals.

•Soundthehornorfogbellintermittentlytowarnothers.

• If there is anydoubt in continuingyourexcursion, anchor. Listen forotherfogsignalswhilecontinuingtosoundyourfoghornorbell.

StormsThe present and forecasted weather conditions are a primaryconsideration,andthepossibilityofstormsshouldalwaysbeaconcern.Ifstormsareapossibility,keepawatchonthehorizon,especiallytothewest,forapproachingstorms.Monitortheweatherforecastonamarinechannelorlocalweatherstation.Thebestpossiblesituationistoreturntoasafeportiftimeallows.

Otherstepstofollowtoweatherthestorminclude:

• Close and secure port holes. Stow all loose gear below deck and tiedownanygearondeck.

•Reducespeedas theseasbuild.Makesureallpersonsonboardhaveputontheirpersonalfloatationdevices.

• Trail a sea anchor from the bow. If you do not have a sea anchoraboard,use a canvasbucket, tacklebox, orotherobject thatwillworklikeaseaanchor.

• Radar reflectors (if installed on your boat) should be 18 inchesdiagonally. They should be placed as far above waterline as possible.Other‐ wise, a boat with radar may have trouble “seeing” your boat.

ManOverboard

Shouldsomeoneintheboatfalloverboard:

Actquickly—treateverysituationasanemergency. Movethrottletoidlepositionandyell“ManOverboard”. ImmediatelythrowaTypeIVPFDtothepersoninthewater. Havesomeoneintheboatassumeresponsibilityforwatchingtheperson in the water and keep them in sight while the boatmaneuversbacktothem.

Approachthepersonintothewindandwaves.Whenalongside,puttheengineinneutralandthrowthemaTypeIVPFDwithalineattachedorextendanoarorboathook.

Fire

Important:Afireaboardyourboatisaseriousemergency.Youmustactimmediately!

Every boater should develop a fire response plan to determinewhatkindoffire(fuel,electrical,etc.)mightbreakout,whereitmightbreakout, and the best way to react. Having a plan and assigningresponsibilities to others results in quicker decisions and quickerreactions.Important:Everyoneonboardshouldknowwherefireextinguishersareandhowtooperatethem.

Anyfirerequiresstoppingtheengine(s)immediately.Then: Ifequipped,thefireextinguishersystemwilldischargeintheeventofafire.Theheatsensitiveautomaticheadwillreleasetheextinguishantasavapor,totallyfloodingthecompartmentinfire‐killingconcentrations.Thesystemindicatorlightiswiredtotheignitionandisturnedonwhentheignitionisturnedon.Theindicatorlight,locatedatthedashpanel,indicatestothehelmsmanwhentheunithasdischarged.

Undernormaloperation, the indicator light is lit. If theunitdischarges,thechargelightwillgoout. Do not open the hatch to the rigging compartment! The fire will

flareupifthefreshairsupplyincreasessuddenly. Keep the firedownwind ifpossible. If the fire is aft,head into the

wind. Haveallpersonsonboardputontheirpersonalfloatationdevices. Ifyoucangetatthefire,aimthefireextinguisheratthebaseofthe

flamesanduseasweepingactiontoputoutthefire. Ifthefiregetsoutofcontrol,makeadistresssignal,andcallforhelp

ontheradio.Decidingwhethertostaywiththeboatorabandonshipwillbedifficult.If the decision is to abandon ship, all persons on board should jumpover‐boardandswimasafedistanceawayfromtheburningboat.GuidelinesforFirePrevention

Warning: Smoking, poormaintenance, or carelessnesswhen refuelingcan cause hazardous conditions. Always follow proper refuelingproceduresforyourboat.

Installdrainplugbeforelaunching. Ensureproperbilgepumpoperation. Donotoverloadboat. Adjust boat speed and trim to match sea and weather

conditions Close all cabin hatches, door, etc. while underway to prevent

floodingduetoheavyseasorrain.Ensureproperventilationtoavoid carbon monoxide poisoning. See carbon monoxidehazardinformationlaterinthischapter.

Whenonlyusingoneanchor, itshouldbeattachedtothebowoftheboat.

Whenslowingdownormovinginreversedonotallowwakeorfollowingseastofloodcockpit.

Ifyourboatbecomesswampedorcapsizes,putonaPFDimmediatelyandsetoffadistresssignal.Chancesaregoodthatacapsizedboatwillstayafloat.Forthisreason,staywiththeboat.Donotleavetheboatortrytoswimtoshoreexceptunderextremeconditions.Acapsizedboatiseasier to see than a swimmer, and the shoremay be farther awaythanitappears.

Moreoften thannot, boats sinkwhiledocked.Anynumber of factorsmaycontribute to these sinkings.Theremayhavebeen amechanicalfailure suchasa failedbilgepumporanelectricalproblemsuchasadeadbatteryortrippedcircuitbreaker.Checkyourboatregularlyifitisdocked for an extended period of time tomake sure everything is inorder.

Hypothermia

Ifapersonfallsoverboard,hypothermiamaybeanimmediateconcern.Hypothermiameansaperson’sbodylosesheattothewaterfasterthanthebodycanreplaceit.Ifnotrescued,thepersonwillbecomeexhaustedorlikelydrown.Ingeneral,thecolderthewater,theshorterthetimeforsurvival. PFDs will increase survival time because they provideinsulation.

CollisionIfaseriouscollisionoccurs,firstcheckthepersonsonboardforinjuries.Theninspecttheboattodeterminetheextentofdamage.

Preparetohelptheothercraftunlessitplacesyourpassengersorboatindanger.

Ifthebowoftheotherboatpenetratedyourboat’shull,preparetoplugthefractureoncetheboatsareseparated.

Shoreuptheholeinsideyourboatwithasparelifejacketorcushion.

Whilepluggingthehole,shiftweight togettheholeabovethewaterlevel.

CarbonMonoxideHazardDuringOperation

Carbonmonoxide(CO)intheengineexhaustisapoisonousgaswhichisodorless, colorless, and heavier than air. Direct prolonged exposurecanresultincarbonmonoxidepoisoningwhichcanbeharmfulandmaybefatal.

Indications of excessive exposure to carbon monoxide concentrationsmay include nausea, dizziness and drowsiness. Carbon monoxidepoisoning requires the operator’s special and immediate attention! Topre‐ vent excess exposure and reduce the possibility of carbonmonoxide accumulation in the cabin of the boat, ensure adequateventilation byopeningcabinhatches,cabindoors, cabinwindows,andsidewindshieldventstoincreaseairmovement. Some Robalo models are equipped with a CO detector. Follow theoperating instructions suppliedwith the CO detector and test the unitto verify that it is functioning properly every time you use your boat.Refertothe informationprovidedbythemanufacturer inyourowner’spackettodeterminereplacementintervalforyourCOdetector.The following illustrations show how carbon monoxide can possiblyaccumulateinyourboatwhileatthedockorunderway.Becomefamiliarwith these examples and their precautions to prevent dangerousaccidentsfromoccurringonyourboat.

FuelSystemEveryonewho owns or operates a boatmust practice fire safety. Eachyear,boatfiresandexplosionsinjurehundredsofindividualsandcausemillionsofdollars inpropertydamage.Manyof theseaccidentscanbeprevented.Be alert for damage to your boat’s fuel system. Over time, fuel fittingsand fuel hoses wear out. Inspect these fittings and hoses regularly,

especially near the engine where engine heat and vibration canacceleratedeterioration.

Whattodo

1. Schedule regular engine and exhaust system maintenanceinspectionsbyexperiencedandtrainedtechnicians.

2. Inspect fuel systems annually, particularly hoses, connections andtanksurfaces.UseonlyUSCG‐approvedfuelhoses.

3. Before fueling, shut down engines and auxiliary equipment andallelectricalequipment.Alsocloseallhatchesanddoorsonboard.

4. Do not allow equipment or gear to contact fuel‐systemcomponents.Monitor side storage areas where fill and vent hoses are oftenlocated.

5. Do not store portable fuel tanks in enclosed areas, including theengineroomcompartment(eventhoughitmaybe“ventilated”).

6. Takeaboatingsafetycourseandlearnthecorrecttypeanduseofafireextinguisheraboardaboat.

EachTrip

Beforestartingtheengine“sniff”yourbilges.Gettingdownonyourhand and knees and using your nose is the best fuel/vapordetector.

Make sure all passengers know where to find your fireextinguishersandhowtooperatethem.

Beforerefueling,closeallhatches,portsandotheropenings;shutoffengines,motors,pumpsandblowers;andDONOTSMOKE.Fillallportabletanksonthedock.

Afterrefueling,wipeuporwashoffanyexcessorspilledfuel;openallhatchesandports;andlettheboatairout.“Sniff”yourbilges.

WARNING: Death or serious poisoning can result from expo‐suretocarbonmonoxidefromengineexhaust.Turnoffgasoline‐poweredgenerators that exhaust atornear thewater levelwhen the swimplatform on the stern is in use. Swimmers should not enter thecavitybeneaththeswimplatform.

Important: Remember that three people — not two — arerequiredforsafewaterskiing:theboatoperator,theskier,andanobserveron theboat facing the skier.Theobserver relays signalsfrom theskiertotheoperator.Theoperatorcanthereforegivefullattentiontotheoperationoftheboatandthewatersahead.

Figure2.6showsasetofhandsignalsrecommendedbytheAmericanWater SkiAssociation (AWSA). The skier, the observer, and the boatoperatorshouldknowandunderstandthese7simplesignals.Followingtheseguidelineshelpsmakewaterskiingasafeandenjoyableexperience:

1. Waterskionlyinsafeareasawayfromotherboatsandswimmers,outofchannels,andinwaterfreeofunderwaterobstructions.

2. Make sure anyone who water skis is a competentswimmer.

3. Besuretheskieriswearingaproperflotationdevice.Aproperlydesignedskivestwillkeepastunnedorunconsciouspersonafloat.

ElectricalSystemsYourRobaloboathasa12volt,directcurrent(DC)batterysystem.

12VoltDCPowerBatteries are the source of power for the 12 volt DC (direct current)electrical system.The batteries are charged through the engine‐drivenalternator. The voltmeter on the instrument panel in the dash showsthebatterychargingratewhentheengineisrunning.

The negative terminal of each battery is connected to the groundingstudsofthemainengine(s).ThistypeofnegativegroundsystemistheapprovedsystemformarineDCelectricalsystems.Ifyouaddadditionalequipment to your boat it must be adaptable to the negative groundsystem.

NOTE: A fuse block near the helm has been provided withadditional accessory hookups. Consult your Robalo dealer foradditionalDCpowerneedsonyourboat.

Note: The appropriate fuse or circuit breaker must be used.Consultaqualifiedtechnicianforproperfusesize.

BatteryThebatteryinstalledinyourboatbyyourRobalodealersuppliesyourboatwithDCcurrentforlights,enginestarting,andaccessories.Whentheengineisrunning,thealternatorsuppliesthepowerneededtokeepthebatteriescharged.Lightsandaccessoriesdrawpowerfromthebatteries.

BatteryIsolatorSystemThemodelswithasingleengineandtwobatteriesarestandardwithabatteryisolatorsystemtomaintainachargeonthehousebatterywhiletheengineisinoperation.Modelswithtwinenginesandthreebatteriesarestandardwithabatteryisolatorsystemtomaintainachargeonthehousebatterywhile thestarboardengine is inoperations.The isolatorfor Yamaha powered boats is in the engine and for Honda poweredboats;itisintheaftbilge.

BatterySelectorSwitchAllmodelshaveabatteryselectorswitchasstandardequipment.Ifyourboathasabatteryselectorswitch,youwillfinditintheaftriggingareaorintheconsole.

SingleSelectorSwitchwithTwoBatteriesAselector switchwith twobatteries is standardon somemodels.Thisbatteryselectorswitchhasfourpositions:

OFF – Power supplied to automatic bilge pump, CO detector (ifequipped),andstereomemory.

1–Useonlynumber1battery.

2–Useonlynumber2battery.

All–Useboth1and2batteries.

Recommendedsettingsareasfollows:

1. Whenboatisnotinuseorpowerisnotrequired,turntheswitchtoOFF.Theonlypowersuppliedatthissettingistheautomaticbilge pump, optional corrosion protection system and stereomemory,andthetrimpumponsomemodels(Figure1).

2. To start the engine, place switchNumber 1 position.With thissetting, power will now be supplied to your boat from theNumber1battery.Thiswillallowtheenginealternatortochargebothbatteries(Figure2).

3. Forauxiliarypowerwith theengineoff,place theswitch in theNumber 2 position. Power will now be supplied to your boatfromtheNumber2battery(Figure3).

Note:Robalo does not recommend leaving the switch in the ALLpositionwhen theengine isoff.Thiswilldrainbothbatteriesandyouwillnothaveastartingbattery.

4. If one battery is low, you still have the option of starting theenginefromtheotherbattery.

currentis“leaking”intothewater,andcancomefromavarietyofthingssuch as ship to shore power, sharing electrical wires, old electricaldevicesincontactwiththewater,batteriesinboats,etc.Electrolysis can alsobe causedby “stray currents”due to a fault in anelectricalitem,eventhoughcorrectlygrounded.Electrolysis/corrosion is a very real issue and expense for any boaterand boat owners must be aware of the proper protection andmaintenance.Corrosionwilldirectlyaffecttheperformanceofyourboatwithinaveryshortperiodoftime.It is the boat owner’s responsibility to check for and replace damagedparts due to galvanic deterioration. Refer to your Robalo dealer toinvestigatethesourceofstraycorrosivecurrents.Sacrificialanodesareinstalledontheoutdriveandtrimtabstoprotectunderwaterhardwareonyourboat.Metalsusedinsacrificialanodesareless noble than the copper‐based alloys and aluminum used inunderwater fittings; therefore, the anodes will deteriorate first andprotect the more noble parts. Metals commonly used in sacrificialanodesincludealuminum,magnesium,andzinc.CAUTION:Replacesacrificialanodesiftheyarecorroded50%ormore.Thetypeofmetalneededforyourboat’ssacrificialanodeswilldependon your use of the boat. For instance, the type of water where youcommonlygoboatingisamajorfactorindeterminingyourneed.Robalorecommends you consult your dealer and your enginemanufacturer’sowner’smanualtodeterminethepropermetalneededinyoursacrificialanodes.Zincanodesgenerally require replacementaboutoncea year,butmayneed to be replaced every sixmonths in saltwater areas. Theneed toreplace anodesmore frequentlymay indicate a stray current problemwithintheboatorattheslipormooring.Ifzincanodesarenotreplacedannually,theymaynotbeprovidingthenecessaryprotection.

Note:Donotpaintbetween thezincandanymetal it touches.Donotpaintoverthezinc.Placingazinc in thewaterbonded to themetaloutletboxon thedockwill reducezinc lossontheboat.Donotconnect thiszinc totheboat’sgroundsystem.Important: All electrically operated DC equipment and accessoriesmustbewiredsothatthegroundpolarityofeachdeviceisthesameasthatofthebattery.Robaloboatshaveanegativegroundsystem,which isrecommendedpracticethroughoutthemarine industry.Allmetal items (fuel tanks, underwater hardware) in the boat areconnectedtothezincanodebythegreenbondingwire.Onceayear(Performedbyaqualifiedmarinetechnician)Inspect boat receptacles for any signs of deterioration, including cordwear, looseconnections,andsignsofsparkingoroverheatingandbentorpittedblades. If thereare any such signs, examine, correct, and testtheequipmentorreplaceit.FuelSystemTheinternalfuelsystemonyourRobaloboatmeetsallcurrentFederalrequirements.Fuel lines, filters,andall fuelsystemcomponentsshouldbecheckedatthe start of each season and periodically thereafter, particularly afteranyworkhasbeendoneaboardtheboatwhichmighthaveaffectedanypartof the system.Be certain that all are inproper conditionand thattheentiresystemisfueltight.

Thefueltankislocatedunderthecockpitfloor.Thefueltankfillpipeislocated on the outside deck. Some models have a dual fuel system,providingconvenienceandflexibilityofrefillingyourtankfromeitherThe fuel tank vent allows air to escape as the tank is being filled andhelps equalize tankpressure as temperatures change.The tankhas ananti‐siphonvalvewhichkeepsfuelfromleakingintotheboatincaseoffuellinebreaks.Periodically,checktheconditionofthefueltankcomponents.Fueltankfittingsareaccessiblethroughtheinspectionplateofthecockpitfloor.FuelRecommendationsThe quality of the fuel is very important for satisfactory engineperformance and long engine life. Fuel should be clean and free ofcontamination. Your fuel tanks should be kept full of fuel wheneverpossible.Thiswillreducetheamountofwatercondensationandreducethe possibility of contamination. Robalo recommends not using fuelcontainingmorethan10%alcoholbyvolume.Ethanol‐infusedgasolineiswidelyavailabletotoday’sboater.However,itmayhaveharmfuleffectsonmarineenginesandfueldeliverysystems.Please refer toyourenginemanufacturer’sowner’smanual to find therecommendedtypeandgradeoffuelforyourengineaswellasabetterunderstandingoftheeffectsofethanolonyourengine.

Wastes are to bestoredinaholdingtankorotherdevice,suchasaPorta‐Potti,untilthedevicecanbepumpedoutanddisposedofatashorefacility.Dischargingthiswasteoverboardisprohibitedinmostjurisdictions.CheckwiththeCoastGuardregardingregulationsinyourarea.IfyourboatisequippedwiththeVacuflush®head,yourwastesystemisactuatedbyaHEADorTOILETSYSTEMswitchinthehead.Itusesfreshwatertominimizeodorproblems.Toaddwatertothebowl,raiseflushleveruntildesiredwater level is reached.Adddeodorizerbeforeusingthe head. VacuFlushHead

To flush, press flush lever sharply to flooruntil contents clearbowl.Asharp popping noise is normalwhen the vacuum seal is broken. Holdflushleverdownforthreeseconds.Ifflushleverisaccidentallyreleasedbefore waste clears bowl, do not attempt to flush toilet again untilvacuumpumpsstopsrunning.Asmallamountofwatershouldremaininthe bowl for flushing. Do not dispose of sanitary napkins or otherinsoluble items in toilet. Thefuelgaugeindicatestheapproximateamountoffuelinyourfueltank.Thereadingismostaccuratewhenyourboatisoperatingatidlespeed.Beawarethatyoushouldcomparegaugereadingswithhoursofuseversusknownfuelconsumptionbecausethegaugeisonlyanapproximatereadingoftheamountoffuelinyourboat’stank.Thevoltmeterindicatesbatteryvoltage.Whentheengineisrunning,themetershouldreadbetween12and15volts.Asignificantlylowerreadingmayindicateabatteryoralternatorproblemoraheavydrainonthebattery.Ifthevoltmeterneedlemovesbackandforthinwideswings,thealternatormaynotbechargingproperly.Thetachometerindicatestheoperatingspeedoftheengineinrevolutionsperminute(RPM).Itdoesnotindicatethespeedofyourboatmovingthroughthewater.DonotexceedthemaximumfullthrottleRPMsstatedintheengineoperator’smanual.Thespeedometerindicatesthespeedyourboatiscrossingthewaterinmilesperhour.Waterpressurefromawaterpickupattheboat’ssternismeasuredandconvertedintoareadingonthespeedometer.Thecompassindicatesthedirectionorheadinginwhichyourboatistraveling.Havethecompasscalibratedbyanexperiencedtechnician.Seethemanufacturer’sinstructionsmanualfordetailsaboutproperoperationandmaintenance.CAUTION:Compassreadingmaybeerroneousifcompensatorisnotproperlyadjusted.Alwaysmakeadeviationtableanduseitwhennavigatingwithacompass.

HydraulicSteeringSystemYour boat has a hydraulic steering system. This system has two basicelements:helmpumpandcylinder.Thesteeringwheelismountedtotheshaft of the helm pump. Turning the steering wheel pumps hydraulicfluid to the steering cylinder. Extra hydraulic fluid prevents air fromenteringthesystem.Areliefvalveprotectsboththemechanicalportionoftherudder(incasetherudderstrikesahardobject)andthehydraulicsystem.Thisisamanualsystem,notapowersteeringsystem.Theeffortrequired to turn thewheel will increase as the system is called on toexertmore forceontheengines.Atnotime,shouldanyoneexpect thissystemtoturnaseasilyasacar’spowersteering.Checkthelevelofhydraulicfluidinthehelmregularlyandreplenish,ifnecessary.Allothermaintenanceshouldbeperformedbyyourdealer.MultifunctionNavigationDisplaySystemAn optional high performance multifunction display is available onselectmodels.Robaloprovidesoneofthemostpowerfulmulti‐functionnavigational display systems, packed with power and performancefeatures.Boat ownerswill have access to3D chart‐plotting,HDDigitaltechnology,SiriusSatelliteWeatherandmore.Caution: Acceleration at full throttle is not recommended for certainperiods of the engine “break‐in period.” Refer to the engine owner’smanualformoredetails.

ThrottleThethrottlecontrolstheboat’sspeedandthedirectiontheboattravels.If the throttle is in its center neutral position, the boat will notmoveforward or aft with the engine running. Moving the throttle forwardfromcentermovestheboatforward.Movingthethrottleaftmovestheboatbackward.Thespeedatwhichtheboatmovesisdirectlyrelatedtohowfartheoperatorpushesthethrottle.

Note:Thethrottlemustbeinitscenterneutralpositionbeforetheenginewillstart.Seeyourenginemanufacturer’sowner’smanualforspecificstartinginstructions.ControlsSteeringOtherthanthecommonsenseandgoodjudgmentoftheoperator,thesteering system is the most important safety system on your boat.Factors requiring operator attention for safe steering include enginetorque,trimtabsettings,wavesandspeed.PowerTrimThe power trim system allows the operator to raise and lower theoutboard to adjust the drive angle while underway. It also allows theoperator to raise and lower the drive for trailering, beaching, andoperation in shallow water. Control your trim setting with the trimswitch on the control handle. Section 5 discusses the importance ofpropertrimwhileoperatingyourboat.Note: Refer to your engine manufacturer’s owner’s manual forinformationconcerningmaintenanceandoperation.

You should learn to identify whatthesecombinationsareandthetypeofvesseltheyareassociatedwith.Robalo recommends participation in a “safe boating” course to learnmoreaboutthevariouslightcombinations.The running/navigation lights are controlled at the helm station by athree position rocker switch. This allows for selection of the mast(white)lightONwhenanchoredormoored,ortohavethemast(white),port(red)andstarboard(green)lightsallONwhileunderway.

StereoSoundSystemw/BluetoothThestereoinyourboatisequippedwithanAM/FMradio,MP3Jack,andpremium water resistant speakers. Our sound systems are SiriusSatellite Ready and Bluetooth capable. The stereo will turn off whenmotor is cranked. This is normal operation. The stereo memory haspoweratalltimes.Note:Itistheboatowner’sresponsibilitytomanagebatteryvoltagewhileusingthisfeaturetoensurebattery/batteriesarenotdrainedtoapointwhereenginewillnotstart.Refertoowner’spacketforinstructionsandwarrantyinformation.FireExtinguishersAs the boat owner, you are responsible formaking sure you have therequired number of fire Extinguishers. Fire Extinguishers must beapprovedbytheU.S.CoastGuard.Boatslongerthan26feetandshorterthan40feet:TwoTypeB‐1oratleastoneTypeB‐2portablehandExtinguishers.IfyourboathasafixedfireextinguishingsystemapprovedbytheU.S.CoastGuard,oneTypeB‐11extinguisherisrequired.Boatslongerthan16feetandshorterthan26feet:AtleastoneportablehandTypeB‐1fireextinguisher.AllfireExtinguishersshouldbemountedinareadilyaccessiblelocationaway from the engine compartment. Everyone on board should knowwherethefireExtinguishersareandhowtooperatethem.If your fire extinguisher has a charge indicator gauge, cold or hotweathermay affect the gauge reading. Consult the instructionmanualsupplied with the fire extinguisher to determine the accuracy of thegauge.

UNDERWAY 5Thischapterdiscussestheoperationofyourboatfromthebeginningofaboatingexcursiontoitsend.We’dliketoremindyoutobekindtoourenvironment while you’re boating. Don’t throw garbage and otherrefuseoverboard. And do your best to keep harmful compounds likegasolineandantifreezeoutofthewater.

TransportingyourBoatAcorrectly selected trailer supportsyourboatproperly,makes towingsafer, andmakes unloading and loading in varyingweather conditionseasier.Important: Improper trailering is one of the major causes fordamagetothehull.Thewarrantydoesnotcoverdamageofthistype.Thetypeandsizeofthesidesupports,orpads,areveryimportant.Sidesupports run lengthwise to the boat and parallel to the keel. Sidesupportsshouldonlybetightenoughtokeeptheboatfromleaningsidetoside.Anyunnecessarypressurewilldamage thehull.Newer trailershave self‐adjusting side supports and a bow pad that can be easilyadjusted.Theseeliminatetheneedformanuallyadjustingsidesupportsandkeelrollerseverytimeyou loadyourboat.YourRobalodealercanhelpyouselectthebesttrailerforyourboat.Inspectyourtrailerregularlytomakesurethesidesupportsareingoodworkingcondition.Checkboltssecuringrollersandsupportsfromtimetotimetomakesuretheyaretight.Thetrailershouldbedesignedandbuilttocarrythefullweightofyourboat,engine,andgearwhileprovidingsupportforthehull.Besurenotto overload your trailer by loading the boat with excess baggage,campingequipment,etc.Checkthecertificationlabelontheframeofthetrailer.Itisrequiredtoshowthegrossvehicleweightrating.Besurethetotalweightofyourboat,engine,fuel,gear,andtrailerdoesnotexceedthisrating.Makesureyourtowingvehiclehasahitchappropriatefortherating.Distributing the weight on the trailer is important. Place the heaviestitemsatthebottomoftheboatoverarollerorchock,andsecurethemtokeepthemfromshifting.

Balancing the load on the trailer is also important. If toomuchweightrests on the hitch, the towing vehicle will over steer, a condition thatcausesthefrontendofthevehicletosway.Conversely,toolittleweightonthehitchcausesthetrailertofishtail.Inbothcases,thevehiclewillbedifficult to handle and at higher speeds the swaying or fishtailing canbecomeuncontrollableandresult inpersonalinjuryanddamagetotheboat,trailer,ortowingvehicle.Weightonthehitch,ortongueweight,shouldbe5%to10%ofthetotalweightoftheloadedtrailertoavoidoverloadingthetowvehicleandtoprovideadequatepressureonthehitchball.Iftheweightoftheloadedtraileris2000pounds,theweightonthetongueshouldbebetween100and200pounds.Aweightdistributinghitchtransfersportionsoftongueweight to a point between the front and rear wheels of the towingvehicleandtothetrailerwheels.Important: Bumper hitches are not safe and are illegal in manystates.DISCLAIMER:TOWING REGULATIONS REGARDING GROSS VEHICLE WEIGHTRATINGSVARYBYSTATEASWELLASREQUIREMENTSFORBRAKES.CHECK YOUR STATE REGULATIONS TO DETERMINE THE BRAKEREQUIREMENTSFORYOURBOAT,MOTORANDTRAILERPACKAGE.ROBALOASSUMESNOLIABILITYFORTHETRAILERREQUIREMENTSSPECIFICTOYOURSTATE.

Steering a trailerwhile backing it upworks the opposite of steering acar.Ifthetrailerneedstogototheright,turnthesteeringwheeltotheleftandviceversa.Inexperiencedbackerstendtoturnthewheeltoofar.Donotoversteer.Turnthewheelgraduallyuntilyougetthefeelofsafebacking.LaunchingandLoadingThehandlingofyourboatandtrailerattheramprequirespractice,skilland patience. With care and attention to the following tips, you canlaunchandrelaunchyourboatwithrelativeease.Important: Typically a beam of 8 feet 6 inches allows you to towwithoutaspecialpermit inmostplaces.Theseboatsareconsidered“trailerable”forthisreason.Otherboatshavewiderbeamsandarestill“trailerable,”but,inmostcasesyouneedapermittodoso.Checkwithyourstateonpermitrequirementsbeforetowing.RollerTrailers–LaunchingandLoadingRobalo recommends you follow the trailer manufacturer’sguidelinesforlaunchingandloadingyourboat.WARNING: If thewinch handle slips out of your hand, let is spin. Stopinalaunchingprepareaneartherampthatdoesn’tblocktrafficandremoveyourtie‐downs,tiltupyourengineordriveunit,replaceyourtransomdrainplugs,etc.

2. Have someone at the ramp to give you directions. Slowly back thetrailerdown the ramp to thewater. If there isn’t a ramp available,useasolidareaofgroundtotheshore,withaslopeifpossible.Avoidwet,softsand.Alwaysremembertolaunchyourboatatarightangletotheshore.

3. Backthetrailerdowntherampuntilthereisenoughwatertomaketheboatfloat.Becausethebunksgeneratemorefrictionthanrollers,youneedtobackthetrailerfurtherintothewater.

4. Tie a mooring line to the boat so you will have control once it isfloating.

5. Unfastentheboatbowsafetychain.Holdthewinchhandlesecurely,reverse the winch lock and begin unwinding the line. Unwind itslowlyandcarefully.

6. Onanaveragegrade,thebunksonyourtrailerwillallowyourboatto gently slip back and float into the water. If your boat doesn’timmediatelymove,tryunwindingaboutsixinchesofline,lockyourwinchandgivetheboatapush.Thenunlockthewinchandtryagain.If this doesn’t work, you might try backing the trailer deeper, ifpossible.

7. Careshouldbegivenwhen launching fromtrailerswithbunksthatare equippedwith plastic‐likematerials. Thesematerialsmake thebunk surfaces very slippery, and the boat may begin to unload assoonastensionisreleasedonthewinchcable/strap.

Lock yourwinchbefore attempting towind the cable/strap in.Once yourboat isalignedandispulledfirmlyagainstthewinchstandrollerorVeeblockandyourwinchisinthelockedposition,connecttheboatbowsafetychainand you are ready to drive to the loading/preparation area near theramp to connect all other tie‐downs, lighting or electric brakeconnections,etc.CommonCauseofBoatMisalignmentIfyourboatdoesn’tsitlevelinthewateroryourbunksorrollersarenotadjustedproperly,youmayhavemisalignmentproblemswithyourboatwhenloading.Basiccorrectionproceduresareasfollows:CorrectionProceduresRe‐measureallrollerassembliesthatsetinalineacrossfromeachother.Makesurethedistancetoeachrollerfromthecenterlineofthetrailerisequal. Inotherwords,theleftsideofyourtrailershouldbeexactlythesameastherightside.Thisistrueofbunkorrollertrailers.If your boat keeps going to the port (left) side, remove the boat andloosen the U‐bolts and/or the through bolts that clamp the rollerassemblies on the stern (back) section of the trailer. Force each

assembly to the rightas if youwere trying to turn thehandlebarsof abicycle.HoldeachassemblyinthisturnedpositionandretightentheU‐boltsand/orthroughbolts.This repositioning of the roller assemblies should correct themisalignmentof theboat on your trailer. If your boat goes toward thestarboard(right)side,reversetheprocedure.Another common reason for boats not centering themselves is puttingthe trailer too deep in the water, which does not allow the traileradequate time to center theboat.This is especially trueon roller styletrailers.Note:Makesureyourtrailerisnottoodeepinthewaterortheboatwillfloatovertherollersandbedifficulttoloadandcenter.BoardingYourBoat

Larger pleasure boats remain stable under most operating conditionsbe‐ cause of their beam, draft, andweight displacement. However, theU.S.CoastGuarddoesrequirethatacapacityplatebeaffixedtoallboatsup to 20 feet long. This plate states the maximum load capacity. Theplate shows persons and gear in pounds the boat will handle safelyunder normal conditions. The U.S. Coast Guard establishes these loadcapacity ratings. Overloading and improper distribution of weight aresignificant causesof accidents.Keepweightbelowmaximum limits forsafetyinturbulentwater.

FuelingImproperfuelingproceduresarethemostcommoncauseofboatfires.DANGER:Fuel leakingfromanypartofthefuelsystemcanleadtofireand explosion that can cause serious bodily injury or death. FuelingProcedures

1. Always fuel in an area which has sufficient lighting. Gasolinespillsarehardtoseewhenlightingispoororitisdark.

DANGER:Fuelvaporsareexplosiveandcanbecometrappedwithinthelower portions of the boat. Close all hatches, windows, doors, andcompartmentswhilefuelingyourboat.Important:When fuelingorhavingsomeoneelse fuelyourboat,besurethewasteorwaterfillcapsarenotmistakenforthefuelfillcap.Also,make sure a fishing rod holder is notmistaken for a fuel fillplate.

2. YourRobaloboathasfittingsforfillingthefueltankoneachsideoftheboat.Removefuel fillplate. Insertthefuelsupplynozzle.Allownozzle to stay in contactwith fitting to prevent possiblestatic‐producedsparks.

3. Afterpumpingapproximately5gallonsoffuelintotank,inspectengineandfueltankareaforanysignsoffuelleakage.Continuefuelingifyoudonotdetectanyleaksorotherproblems.

4. Allowspaceatthetopofthetankforthermalexpansion.Donotover‐filltanksothatfuelcomesoutfueltankvent.

Post‐FuelingProcedures1. Whenyouhavefinishedfueling,replacefuelfillcapandwashoffanyfuelspillagearoundfuelfillarea.Discard,inasafeplace,anyragsyoumayhaveusedtowipeofffuelspills.

2. Open engine compartment and all hatches, windows, doors andcompartments closed during fueling. Inspect these areas for fuelfumesorfuellineleakagevisuallyandbysmelling.Checkoutanysignoffuelleakageoranyindicationoffumesandcorrectproblembeforestartingtheengine.

3. Run bilge blower at least four minutes before restarting engine toventilateenginecompartment.

3. To prevent an explosion or fire, look for leaks in fuel, oil, coolant,exhaust,andpowersteeringsystems.Beawareofanyodorsofthesefluids.

4. Makesurethethrottleisintheneutralposition.

Important: Do not operate starter continuously for more than15secondswithout pausing.Allow starter to cool at least threeminutesbetweenstartattempts.

7. Warm up a cold engine by running it at fast idle speed (asrecommended in engine manual) approximately one to twominutes.

LeavingtheDockAftertheenginehaswarmedup,youarereadytoleavethedock.Beforeyou cast off, check all gauges, particularly the oil pressure gauge, forproper readings. Check the operation of the steering by turning thesteeringwheeltofullportandtofullstarboardwhileobservingoutdrivemovement.Checkthatchargingsystemisworkingproperly.Checkagainforfuel,oil,andexhaustleaks.

Whenyouaresureyourboatisready,checkwind,tide,currentorotherforces thatwill affect thewayyoumaneuveryourboat away from thedock.Thencastoffmooringlinesandstowfenders.Shiftyourboat’sengine intoforwardorreversedependingonwhetheryouwanttomovetheboworthesternawayfromthedockfirst.Movethe throttle lever to neutral position. Then push forward quickly andfirmly to shift into forward gear or backward to shift to reverse. Yourengine shouldbe runningat a slow speedasyoumove away from thedock.Ifyoumovethebowoutfirst,watchthattheswimplatformdoesnotswingintotheGettingUptoCruisingSpeedAfterslowlymotoringfromthedockareatoopenwater,youcansafelyacceleratetocruisingspeed.Advancethrottletosettingwhichprovidesyour desired engine speed (RPMs). As youmove the throttle forward,engineRPMsincrease,andyourboatmovesfasterthroughthewater.Important: Acceleration at full throttle is not recommended during theengine“break‐inperiod.”This“break‐inperiod”coincideswiththeengine“20‐hour check‐up.”Donotattempt full throttleaccelerationduring thefirst20hoursofoperation.Whenyouthrottleupandaccelerate,yourboatincreasesthetrimangleandcausestheboattoridebow‐high.Fromamaximumangle,theboatlevels out to its planing attitude as you continue to accelerate. (Figure5.2)

Themaximumangleiscommonlyknownasthe“hump.”Youshouldgetover the hump as quickly as possible because visibility, handling, andperformancearelimiteduntilyoudo.Onlyafewsecondsatfullthrottleshouldbeneeded;however,thewayyourboatis loaded,thewind,andsea conditions affect the time required. When the boat gets over thehump, it reaches its planing attitude. Then, accelerate until your boatreaches a comfortableplane and then throttledown to cruising speed.Thisalsoprovidesforbetterfuelefficiency.

When maneuvering at low speeds you can reverse (move throttleforwardoraft)theshiftmechanism.Thiswillreactinabrakingaction.

CAUTION:Whenshiftingbetweenforwardandreverse,alwayspauseinneutralforafewsecondsbeforereversingtherotationofthepropeller.Thiswillpreventunnecessarydamagetothedrivesystem.CAUTION:High speed acceleration in reverse can create a wake thatcouldwashoverthetransomandfloodtheboat.

TrimmingYourBoatTrimrefers to thewayaboat floatson thewater.Yourboatwillworkbestwhenitistrimmedtorunatananglebetween3to5degreestothewater.Youcantrimyourboatbyshiftinggearorpassengersor,ifyourboatissoequipped,byadjustingthedriveunitangleorthetrimtabs.PowerTrimThe operator can adjust his craft to the ideal boat angle for load andwater conditions by trimming the drive unit (Figure 5.3). The powertrim system allows the operator to adjust the drive angle whileunderwaybychangingtheangleoftheoutdriveinrelationtotheboat’stransom. It also allows the operator to raise and lower the drive fortrailering,beaching,launching,oroperatinginshallowwater.Note:Refertoyourengineowner’smanualregardingtheoperationofthepowertrimcontrolsinstalledonyourboat.DriveAngleThedriveangleoftheboatistherelationshipbetweenpropellerthrustto the planing surface of the hull’s bottom. You can improve theperformanceofthesameboatundervaryingconditionsbyadjustingthedriveangle.

Movingthedriveunitangletowardsitsinnermostadjustmentbringsthepropeller in as close as possible to the transom. The angle of thepropeller causes an upward thrust which pushes the boat’s bowdownwardasshownonFigure5.3.By gradually shifting the drive unit from its innermost adjustmenttowards the outermost adjustment, the propeller thrust pushes in adownwardmotion.Thismotion,asshowninFigure5.3,tendstoliftthebow.

Afterreachingplane,undercertainloadconditions,yourboatcouldhaveatendencytoburyitsforwardV‐edsection.Theboatwillbegintoplowandlosespeed.Ifthewaterischoppytheboatwillyaw.Aboatwillspinoutifitsbowisexcessivelyburied.Theonlywaytocorrectthissituationistoincreasetheangleandswingthedriveunitoutward.

Ifthedriveunitisangledouttoofar,yourloadedboatwillbesluggishincoming to plane. Once on plane, your boat will tend to porpoise. Tocorrect this motion, move the propeller inward to decrease the anglebetweenthedriveshaftandthetransom.

Very often, the optimumdrive unit angle setting for the highest speedwhile carrying a light load will be just short of the porpoise point.However,suchasettingisunsuitablewhenyouhaveaheavyloadorarepulling skiers. By reducing the drive angle, you will find it easier tomaneuvertheboatandtopullskierstothesurface.TrimTabs(N/AR247)Trimtabsalsohelp theoperator trimtheboat.Trimtabsaremountedon theport andstarboard transombelow thewater line.Theoperatorcancontrolthetrimtabsatthehelmwithrockerswitches.(Figure5.4)Pushingtheswitchactivatesthesystemwhichmovesitstabupordown.If the trim tabs are angled down, they cut into thewater as it passesunderthehulltoforcethesternupandthebowdown(Figure5.5).Trimtabsalsocompensateforunevenloadsintheboatbyallowingtheoperatortotrimuponesideoftheboatortheother.LencoretractorfeatureLencomarine’strimtabretractorfeatureoperatesfromeithera12v‐24vsignal or from an engine’s analog tach signal. The purpose of theaccessory signal input is to turn the trim tab control box on and off.Whenthecontrolboxisturnedoff,thetrimtabswillretract.Turn‐onconditionWhentheLencoaccessoryinputisconnectedtoeithera12v‐24vsignalor an analog tach signal, the control box turns on and the trim tabbecomesactive.Atthistimetheboatoperatorcanrunthetrimtabsupordown..WARNING:Excessivetrimdecreasesmaneuverability,changessteeringcharacteristics, and may cause “porpoising” (bow oscillates up anddown) or “chinewalking” (rocking side to side). Use a burying anchor, such as aDanforth or plowanchor,which gripsinto the bottom and holds your boat secure.Holding power should bemore important thanweight. For anchoring in relatively quiet waters,youcanuseamushroomanchorasanalternative.Thelengthoftheanchorlineshouldbesixtoeighttimesthedepthofthewatertoensurethattheanchorbitesintothebottom.Thebottomendofthe anchor line shouldbe galvanized chainwhichholdsupwell as thelinemovesbackandforthonthebottom.Therestofthelineshouldbenylon anchor line which stretches to soften the impact of wind andwavesonyourboat.

Followingaregeneralguidelinesforanchoringyourboat:

• Securetheanchorlinetotheboweyeordeckcleat.Donottie linetohardwarenotdesignedtosupportthisstress.

• Usetwoormoreanchorsifanchoringovernightorextendedperiodsoftime.Otherwise,make sureyourboathasenoughspace to swing fullcircleincaseofshiftingwinds.

• Keeptheanchorandlineinanareawhereitwillbereadilyavailableinanemergency.DroppingAnchor

1. Have a crew member carefully lower anchor, keeping a slighttensiononthelineastheanchordrops.Maintaintensionaftertheanchorreachesthebottom.Simplythrowingtheanchoroverboardusuallyfoulsthelineandrequiresstartingover.

2. Maneuvertheboatbackwardsslowlyuntiltheproperlengthoflineisrunout.

3. Fasten the anchor line around the bow eye or deck cleat. Anchorfluke should dig into bottom and hold boat in position.

WARNING:Keepanchorsecurewhileunderwaytopreventdamageorinjuryifboat’sattitudechangessuddenly.

4. Check shoreline landmarks at the time anchor is dropped and checkagain30minuteslater.Ifpositionhaschanged,anchorisdraggingandmustbereset.

WeighingAnchorWeighing, or pulling in the anchor, requires moving the boat in thedirectionoftheanchorandpullingintheanchorastheboatmoves.Forthisreason,theenginesshouldberunning.Whenthelineisvertical,pullup firmly on the anchor line to free the flukes from the bottom. Asyouapproachthedockorothermooringarea,slowdownyourboatin time toallowyourwake to subsidebefore it reachesotherboatsordocks.Asyougetclosetothedock,checkforwindorcurrents,andallowthemtocarry theboat toward thedock ifyoucan.Whenapproaching,checkthatlinesareattachedtothecleatsonthemooringsideandthatfenders are lowered on that side. InteriorandExteriorCare 7The following informationwill help youkeep the interior and exteriorof your boat in tip‐top shape. If you need more specific information,contactyourRobalodealer.

Note:Before youuseaparticularcleaningsolutionormethod,testthematerial to becleaned in ahidden or inconspicuousareaforpossible adverse reactions. Use cleaning agents sparingly. Neverdischarge cleaning solutions into the waterways. Do not useproducts containing phosphates, chlorine, solvents, or non‐biodegradableorpetroleumbasedproducts.

FiberglassandGelcoatThehullanddeckaremadeoffiberglass.Theouterlayerofthehullanddeck is a color pigmented polyester resin, called gelcoat. Gelcoat ishighly resistant to scratches that occur during normal boat use.Nevertheless,duringthelifeofyourboat,somedamagetothegelcoatisboundtooccur.

GelcoatMaintenanceToremoveandpreventthebuildupofmostsalt,soil,andgrime,cleanthehullanddeckregularlywithhouseholddetergentandwater.

Note:Makesurehouseholddetergentdoesnotcontainammonia orchlorine. Because ammoniate or abrasive cleaners dull anddiscolorthegelcoatsurface,theyarenotrecommendedforroutinemaintenance.

Gelcoat surfaces are very resistant to deep stains. To remove minorstains, wash the affected area with a soft cloth and householddetergent. Then rinse thoroughly with clear water. If deep stains dooccur,useaspecialfiberglasscleanerandstainremover.

Waxing the gelcoat surface regularly will help prevent soiling andpreserve its luster. Robalo recommends a fiberglass wax that fills thegelcoatpores.Chemicalsinfiberglasswaxscreenoutharmfulultravioletraysthatcausefadingofthegelcoatcolor.

CAUTION:Waxedgelcoatisslippery.Fallscausingbodilyinjuryorfallsoverboard are possible. Never wax deck surfaces that require surefooting.

RepairingGelcoatDamage

MinorScratchesRepairminorscratcheswithautomotiverubbingcompoundorpolishingwax.Followthemanufacturer’sinstructions.Althoughthescratchesmaynot disappear completely, they should not be as noticeable. Applyrubbing compound or polishing wax to a damp, soft cloth. Rub thegelcoatsurfacewiththedamp,softclothinacircularmotion.

Chips,HairlineCracks,andSmallPatchesYourRobalodealerhasqualifiedpersonnelcapableofmakingthistypeofrepair.

Robalo uses the finest gelcoats and resins available to prevent gelcoatcrazing and hairline cracks. Over time your boat may develop slighthairline cracks in the outermost gelcoat layer. These usually do notdamagethestructureofyourboatoraffectitsintegrity.

HullBottomMaintenanceIfyourboatwillbeinwatercontinuouslyformorethan60daysinany90‐dayperiod,Robalorecommendssealingthehullbottomwithahighquality barrier coating. Failure to do so will void your hull blisterwarranty. YourRobalo dealer can recommend thebest barrier coatingproductforyourboat.

BottomPaint(Anti‐Fouling)Important: Consult your Robalo dealer for recommended bottompaintsandlocallawsthatgovernyourarea.Manystatesregulatethechemicalcontentofbottompaintstomeetenvironmentalstandardsandregulations.Anti‐fouling bottom paint is designed to prevent marine growth bydissolvingslowly.Asaresult,thebottomofyourboatwillusuallyneedpainting after the boating season. Some variables to consider whenselecting a protective bottom paint are the water temperature, waterpollution, salinity, current, andorganicmatter in thewater.Toprotectandrepainttheboatbottom,performthefollowing: Remove boat fromwater once a year. Scrub bottomwith a soap

andwatersolutionandabristledbrush.

Note:Repaintingthebottomisnotnecessaryeachtimethebottomisscrubbed,aslongasnobareareasarevisibleinthebottompaint.

Besides itsresistance to mildew, rot and weather, canvas also resists industrialpollutants and the effects of ultraviolet light from the sun. Canvas isbreathable and, therefore, is not waterproof. Mooring covers arewaterproof.Care Keepthetopupwhenboatisnotinuseorwhenit’sraining. Nevertraileryourboatwiththecanvasup.Noneofthecanvasor

covers supplied with your boat were designed for the stress ofhighwayspeedtrailering,andtodosomaydamagethecanvas.

Keepcanvasclean.Acrylicfabricwillnotsupportmildewgrowth,butdirtanddustonthecanvaswill.

Lubricatezipperswithparaffinandsnapswithpetroleumjelly. Ifcanvasorseamsleak,applyalightcoatingoffluorocarbonbased

waterrepellent,or“303HighTechFabricGuard,”availableatmostmarinedealers.

Allowallcanvastoairdrybeforestoring.Neverstorecanvasdampor wet. Provide proper ventilation to limit the possibility ofmildew.

Avoidmooringundertrees. Do not tow your boat with canvas attached to any hull or

windshieldmountedfasteners.

Be careful not to scratch clear vinyl windows. Dry well beforestowing.When stowing clear vinyl,make sure the vinyl is rolledandnotcreased.

Subjecttotheconditionsandlimitationstocoverageandliabilitydiscussedbelow,RobalowarrantstotheoriginalandfirstsubsequentpurchaserwhohasregisteredthetransferwithRobalointhemannerprovidedaboveunder“TRANSFERABLEFIVE‐YEARLIMITEDSTRUCTURALHULLWARRANTY”,foraperiodofoneyearfromthedateofdeliverytotheoriginalpurchaser,thateachnewfiberglassboatmanufacturedbyRobaloisfreefromdefectsinmaterialandworkmanship.Pleasenotethatengines,outdrives,transomassemblies,controls,batteries,propellers,airconditioners,generators,refrigerators,certainelectronicsandcertain other accessories or components on your boat are not warranted by Robalo under this Limited Warranty, but may be warranted bymanufacturers other than Robalo. Please refer to the Robalo Owner’s Packet to locate Owner’s Manuals for these specific items and instructionalinformation about possible warranties from manufacturers other than Robalo. Except as expressly set out herein, all warranties provided by themanufacturers and distributors of these accessories and components are hereby assigned to the owner, to the extent permitted by the accessory orcomponentmanufacturer, as theowner’s sole and exclusive remedywith respect to such items. Pleasenote that coverageunder anyof theseotherindependentwarrantiesiscontingentuponyourcompliancewiththewarrantyregistrationrequirementsofthemanufacturerofsuchitem.

CONDITIONSTOCOVERAGE

In addition to any other conditions to coverage containedherein, the responsibility ofRobalo under each of the foregoing limitedwarranties is alsosubjecttothefollowingconditions:(1) The ownermust first notify thedealer fromwhom theboatwaspurchasedof any claimunder thiswarrantywithin the applicablewarranty

periodandwithinthirty(30)daysafterthedefectisorshouldhavebeendiscovered.(2) AllcostsofanynaturefordeliveringanyboattoaRobalodealer,theRobalofactory,oranyotherpointofrepairauthorizedbyRobaloandthe

returnthereofshallbepaidbytheboatownerandarenotcoveredunderthiswarranty.Suchcostmayincludebutarenotnecessarilylimitedtotransportation,freight,haul‐outs,blockingandstorage.

(3) Allrepairs,correctionsorreplacementsshallbeperformedbyRobalooradealerorrepairfacilityauthorizedbyRobaloatitssolediscretion.

RobaloDealersareresponsibleforkeepinginventoryinnewconditionatalltimespriortosaleoftheboat.Anydamagethatoccurstoaboatinadealer’sinventory fromweathering, theft, vandalism or failure to adequately protect the boat from environmental conditionswill not be covered under anyRobalofactorywarranty.

STATUTEOFLIMITATIONS

TotheextentpermittedbyapplicableStatelaw,anylawsuitwithrespecttoanybreachofwarrantyclaimseekingrevocationofacceptanceorrescission,whetherexpressor implied,mustbefiledwithinone(1)yearafterthecauseofactionhasoccurredregardlessofthetimeremaininginthewarrantyperiodundertheLimitedWarranty.

LIMITATIONOFCOVERAGEFORAGEDINVENTORYRobaloreservestherighttomodifythewarrantyonanyboatbasedontheamountoftimetheboathasremainedindealerinventory.Itemsthatareaffectedbythepassageoftimemaybevoidedfromthewarranty.Suchitemsmayinclude,butarenotlimitedtocosmeticissuessuchasoxidationofgel,fadingofplastics,deteriorationofvinyl,deteriorationofcanvas,deteriorationofisinglass,dryingofrubberseals/caulking,andcorrosionofmetalparts.Componentwarrantiesmaybelimitedbasedonavailabilityofreplacementparts.Robaloappliesthefollowingpolicysothatcustomer’smayfullyunderstandthenatureoftheirwarrantypriortopurchasingtheboat: InvoiceDate(todealer) WarrantyStatus<2years FullWrittenWarrantyApplies2to3years Warrantybasedon inspectionofboat condition.Warranty for cockpitupholstery, canvas, andgel coat

(2) Robaloisnotliableforlossofuse,lossoftime,inconvenience,economicloss,commerciallossoranyconsequential,incidental,generaland/orspecial

(3) Robalo reserves the right touse refurbished, repaired, reconditioned,or remanufacturedproductsorparts in thewarranty repairor replacementprocess. Any such products and parts will be comparable in performance and function to the original part and shall only be warranted for theremainderoftheoriginalwarrantyperiod.

(4) DecisionsmadebyRobalomaybedonesooutofanabundanceofcustomergoodwill.Accordingly,theacceptanceofanyreturnedproductorpartbyRobaloshallnotconstituteanadmissionthattheproductorpartisdefective.

Engines, controls,batteries,propellers, air conditioners, generators, refrigerators, certainelectronicsandcertainother accessoriesor componentsonyourboatmaybewarrantedbymanufacturersotherthanRobalo.PleaserefertotheRobaloOwner’sPackettolocateOwner’sManualsforthesespecificitemsandinstructionalinformationaboutpossiblewarrantiesfrommanufacturersotherthanRobalo.Exceptasexpresslysetoutherein,allwarrantiesprovidedbythemanufacturersanddistributorsoftheseaccessoriesandcomponentsareherebyassignedtotheowner,totheextentpermittedbytheaccessoryorcomponentmanufacturer,as theowner’ssoleandexclusiveremedywithrespect tosuch items.
