He played a major role in the setting up of Jakarta's first commercial TV station and served as legal advisor for a joint venture in Malaysia developing the Malaysia Peninsular's gas pipeline. Robert Geneid has also played his part in the development of international hotels. Robert is the Managing Director for Borsarmulu Resort Sdn. Bhd., the company that is the owner and operator of Royal Mulu Resort and through their subsidiaries, the management of the Gunung Mulu National Park. Robert has also served as a Board Member of Tourism Malaysia and, since September 2010, has also served as a Board Member of the Malaysia Convention and Exhibition Bureau. He is also a board member of Sarawak Convention Bureau. Robert has also played key roles in construction projects such as the Taman Tunku Township developed by Kumpulan Parabena Sdn Bhd, of which Geneid is an Executive Director. The Township houses some 20,000 inhabitants. In addition, as Managing Director of Kumpulan Construction Sdn Bhd, Robert Geneid completed two major projects, namely the Kuching Outdoor Stadium and the New Kuching Port, won in an international bid on time and to budget. As well as being an all-round businessman, consultant and financial advisor, Robert Geneid is a devoted family man. He is happily married with a large family of seven children. He and his family lives in Kuching, the capital of the Malaysian state of Sarawak. Robert lists tennis, cycling and trekking as hobbies that he enjoys in his free time.
