GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF OPERATING SYSTEM COMPONENTS
SOLL HONEYWELL XENON BY MILLER FOR LIFE LINE
PROJECT ON WALL OF POOLS
Introduction
Description of the product
This manual belongs to Soll XENON anchorage device. The factory certified installer can
elaborate on product performance. The XENON anchorage device Soll is a system of
horizontal lifeline with a maximum inclination of 150 that meets the requirements of EN 795:
2012 type C and complying with the requirements of OSHA 1926 OSHA 1910. The purpose of
these device is to ensure 7 persons against falls from heights and, in turn, provide great
freedom of movement and displacement of a fist to another. This under certain conditions
involving distances between the anchors, length of anchor devices and some more variables.
For the project lifeline on the walls of the pools the system is designed for 2 people and
a rescue if needed the assistance of the same before a possible accident. The guide wire
is in this case a straight design. The distance between two intermediate supports Soll XENON
can be between 2 m and 20 m, depending on cable type.
For this project you will be using a cable of 8 mm stainless steel 7x19, which used an
average distance of 9.5 meters between each anchor point. It is 0.5 meters scrolls
forward or back depending on the need to wage an obstacle and to place the anchor. The
energy absorber mounted at the end of the cable allows the absorption forces in the cables
using the "power dissipation". For joining a user to the cable, sliders or trolleys that allow the
user to pass through the intermediate supports and corners without loose cable used at any
time.

The Soll Xenon anchorage device should be used for the intended purpose only. It can be used
as a transport anchor or hoisting materials.
For the safety of all people working in the system, it is essential that all workers are in good
shape and not under the effects of drugs, alcohol or drugs.
Constraints, capacities and performance
The Soll Xenon anchorage device can be used to ensure a maximum of 4 people if the stainless
steel cable used 7x7 08 mm to a maximum of 7 people if the stainless steel cable 1x19 used 08
mm to a up to 4 people in higher systems if self-retracting lifelines (SRL, for its acronym in
English), but for this project, the design only allows 2 people entering the system and
also a person rescuer used when perform a rescue operation of the above workers.
The maximum tensile strength cable in case of fall depends on several factors such as the
length of the section, the amount of energy absorbers, the number of users and the factor
corresponding to the height of freefall drop.
Determining cable tension forces are transmitted to the end anchors and intermediate posts,
if any. For each Xenon system, the expected forces are calculated and shows that they are
admissible. The anchoring device Soll XENON is designed to:
The maximum tensile strength cable is between 8 and 18 kN in the most common system
configurations. The maximum force that affects the intermediate support is 6 kN for a single
user system, and for a multi-user system of 6 kN for the first user and 0.5 kN for each
additional user. In the most common system configurations, the maximum deviation of the
cable is 3.7 m (lower deviations must be calculated to suit each particular case).
For this project the maximum tensile strength simulated at the most critical case is 680 kgf
on the start and end points. With a deviation of the lifeline of 1.66 meters below the
horizontal.

4. THE COMPONENTS
4.1. The mobile anchorage point (shuttle) The shuttle, the central part of the Söll Xenon system, is the connecting element to the lifeline. With it, the user can move along the lifeline without needing to be detached from it. It is designed to slide easily through the intermediate attachments. Because it can be opened, it can therefore be hooked on at any point on the lifeline without any special attachment or detachment section on the cable. The shuttle contains several safety systems. The opening is protected by a double-locking system to prevent it from being opened accidentally. Only one hand is required to open it. It closes automatically around the cable, thereby avoiding incorrect operation. Finally, the shuttle guarantees a high level of safety by closing around the cable even closer in the event of a load or a fall. Its robust construction made of hardened stainless steel gives it excellent stability and allows for intensive use. Thanks to its ergonomic form and coating, the shuttle fits comfortably in the hand, and has an anchorage eye that is large enough to accept any type of lanyard. It is not necessary to detach the lanyard from the shuttle to hook the shuttle onto the lifeline.
The patented moving anchorage eye allows the user to work on either side of the lifeline without having to remove or rotate the shuttle, which is particularly advantageous for lifelines fitted to roofs, roof ridges or ceilings.
Self-closing system: In the event of a fall, the shuttle closes over the cable. This also increases safety.
Passing through the intermediate bracket, the handle can be moved 180° in free position

www.honeywellsafety.com 17
4.1.1. The standard shuttle – data sheet Safety The double-locking system avoids any danger of unintentional opening. The shuttle locks automatically when it is attached to the cable. In the event of a fall, a self-tightening system increases the user’s safety. The use of hardened stainless steel guarantees exceptional durability. The non-slip coating guarantees a better grip in the hand and a higher resistance to impact. Flexibility Its 180° functionality around the cable provides high flexibility of use. Through the handle with two positions (free or locked), passage through the intermediate brackets can be optimised depending on fitting type (floor, wall, ceiling). The large anchorage eye allows practically any standard lanyard to be attached. Simplicity Hooking to and unhooking from the lifeline without needing to detach the lanyard from the shuttle, for greater safety. The ability to attach and detach freely at any point on the lifeline provides greater flexibility of use and avoids the need to fit special parts.
Usage The shuttle makes it possible to attach the PPE lanyard to the lifeline, and ensures free passage of the intermediate brackets when moving along the system. 4.3. The multi-function energy absorber Limiting loads to the ends of the lifeline to protect the structure is just one of the tasks performed by the multi-function energy absorber. More than just a conventional energy absorber, the new product by Miller performs the functions of 4 important components in a single unit: cable tensioner, fall indicator, tension gauge and, of course, the energy-absorbing element. This new energy absorber thus dispenses with the need to string components together at the start of a conventional cable system, facilitating access to the lifeline. The lifeline can be mounted in a quicker and easier way, reducing the total cost of the system. With the new Miller force dispersal technology, the energy absorber is highly effective at limiting the loads that could arise from a fall. It significantly reduces the load transferred to the substructure, thereby protecting the anchorage points, the lifeline and the user.
The integrated tension indicator helps to pre-tension the cable correctly and always shows the current tension. The green area should be selected when fitting standard systems to floors or walls. For overhead or ceiling fitting in conjunction with self-retractable lifelines, pre-tensioning should be set to the yellow area. If the red area is visible at all, then the cable tension is too high and the pre-tensioning must be reduced. In the event of a substantial load on the cable, the fall indicator is triggered and indicates that the lifeline must be checked before it can be used again. This provides a warning before the lifeline is used if it is not ready for use. The integration of the cable tensioner and tension indicator into one element allows the cable’s tension to be checked immediately, and adjusted if necessary.

4.3.1. Technology of the Söll Xenon multi-function energy absorber The multi-function energy absorber by Söll Xenon is equipped with the new Miller force dispersal technology, allowing it to provide an exceptional degree of safety. By separating out the absorption and pre-tensioning unit, the Söll Xenon multi-function energy absorber cushions repeated minor fluctuations in cable force. The energy absorber automatically returns to its initial position without activating the Miller force dispersal absorption unit. In the event of a fall on the lifeline or other system overload, the Miller force dispersal unit is triggered and limits the loads on the ends of the lifeline, protecting the user and the structure. Unlike rigid anchors and convertional energy absorbers, that have a peak load that affects structural integrity if a fall occurs, the unique ‘Force-dispersal Technology’ in the Söll Xenon shock absorber ensures energy is distributed evenly when deployed. 4.3.3. The energy absorber with swageless terminal – data sheet Flexibility Can be used for all installation types: floor, wall, ceiling. Compact element, includes 4 functions. Made from stainless steel with plastic housing. Particularly suited to use in an industrial environment. Can also be used in systems with increased cable pre-tensioning in conjunction with self-retractable lifelines. Short initial section to the cable system, as there is no need to string components together at the ends. Reduces maintenance costs. Safety Limitation of load on the user and substructure through Miller force dispersal technology.

4.4. The intermediate brackets These intermediate brackets can be employed in fixed or movable mode. Main advantages of the universal intermediate brackets: Allows for versatile operation (fixed or movable). Option to add a spring for enabling automatic vertical orientation of the cable support to allow work to be carried out simultaneously on both sides of the lifeline. Possible applications for the universal intermediate bracket:
The cable support now has a round hole on one side and a square hole on the other. The type of application (fixed or movable) is dependent on which hole the bolt is inserted into.
Movable position The square head of the intermediate bracket bolt leaves the cable support free (side with round hole); it is then in a movable position. The cable support can swivel freely (also used for the spring-assisted bracket).
Fixed position The square head of the intermediate bracket bolt forms an obstruction in the cable support (side with square hole); it is then in fixed position. With the star hole in the clevis, the bracket can be positioned at 45° steps.

Montaje

ADDITIONAL CLARIFICATIONS
1. Horizontal Lifeline Miller® Software Calculation Software 2.1 allows us to
perform calculations and simulations of falls in each of the spaces on the
line.
2. What the Rule asks us is that based on the design, each of the elements
have a minimum safety factor 2.
3. The project meets the requirements requested in the document number
2600SEG109 - SAFETY STANDARD FOR FALL PROTECTION ACP.
4. The project also complies with international standards OSHA 1926.502,
OSHA 1910, ANSI A10.32 and EN 795: 2012 type C.
5. The project OSHA compliance as far as possible minimizes the risk of injury
and the used elements ensures that activation of the fall arrest system will
head once the worker has passed the floor level to avoid injuries to the
head or spine. This minimizes the risk of serious injury.
6. In our case, the most critical point of the line is the area located in the
junior and senior post, on the post No. 1 wherein the energy absorber and
the post No. 41 is located farthest cushion of energy.
7. Knowing that the most critical case occurs in the farthest point energy
absorber, the software simulates a fall at this point with reference to the
maximum weight allowed by OSHA (310 Lbs) Weight: 141 kg and using a
lanyard: 1.2 m.
8. Under these conditions the results obtained in the Start and End points are: maximum

11. It is clear that the other intermediate points no loads directly affect the poles, due to the
design of the intermediate only represent an element of support and pass the cable.
Where by the intermediate anchor cable not limited to movement on the axis line. With
this loads at these points during a fall in the space in question they are equal to 0 kgf.
12. The load applied to the system will be the result of a body falling pounts 310, a free fall
of 1.50 meters (1.2 meters lifeline and 0.30 m is the average distance between the height
of the lifeline on the feet of the person and the dorsal harness ring which is linked to life
line).
13. The life expectancy of the project is more than 20 years, provided that inspections and /
or maintenance of those pieces that for some reason were hit or affected by any element
or accidental blow you make. And an annual preventive maintenance provided that the
system has not been subjected to a fall. If the system is subjected to a fall, it is
recommended immediately inspection.
14. This fall protection system complies with the requirements of the SAFETY STANDARD
FOR FALL PROTECTION - ACP 2600SEG109
15. Being an active system, it is necessary to trigger a drop or system for some formally
informed the annual fall visit immediately replace it to assess the state of the lifeline.
16. The fall protection system installed provides a secure element in compliance with
international standards:
www.honeywellsaferty.com
With a fall of a person with a low level of water in the pool the person shall be
suspended by the dorsal awaiting a rescuer ring. At any level the person can
reach ground level pool.
With a fall of a person with a high water level of the pool, the person shall be
suspended by the dorsal awaiting a rescuer ring. This situation is expected to fall
into the water without compromising person plunge risk by two factors: 1. The
fall protection system exert a force out of the water or into the sky; 2. The life
vest saved the worker must use when making the tour will help ensure the
correct position of the person floating on the water level.
17. According to the Standard, the charges mentioned above allow an error margin of 20%
with reality.
18. Considers that the proposed model is the ideal post for this situation. Be well within the
scroll area on the wall can cause insecurity worker. On edge or outside of the vertical
wall can also cause a feeling of further insecurity. We believe that the line location is
ideal is proposed in our design; which gives almost 100% of space on the wall and a
sense of security that you stay within the wall.
19. Chemical anchors are used Fisher Brand and models used are:
