    Vineyards Produced from 60-year-old Grenache vines on clay-

    limestone soils, terraced hillside vineyards aresouthwest facing, yields are restricted one or two

    buds per cane, leaf removal and green harvests asneeded, organic treatments as needed

    Yields 17 hl/ha Grenache

    30 hl/ha Syrah

    Winemaking Hand harvested, grapes removed from stems and

    crushed in a closed press to avoid oxidation,indigenous yeasts start a temperature controlled

    fermentations lasting 10-15 days, regular pumpingover, breaking cap, lees stirring. Racking after

    malolactic fermentation followed by 12-18 monthsof aging in cement tanks. Light filtration and very

    low dose of S02

    Winemaker Fourth generation owner Rolland Herberigs and

    wife Florence are both trained oenologists

    Tasting Note Deep purple color, fresh red current and pepper spiciness, rich blueberry flavors, slight

    sweetness on finish

    Garnet-red, robust, well rounded, elegant and with nose of red fruits, fine ripe tannins,

    potential to age 3-5 years.

    WineSpectator

    Dark and toasty, but nicely integrated, with spice and espresso hints giving way to warmcurrant paste and crushed fig fruit. A racy graphite note lets the finish stretch out nicely.

    Very solid. Drink now. Tasted twice, with consistent notes. 5,000 cases made.JM, 89pts
