Formed when MAGMA or LAVA COOLS AND HARDENS (SOLIDIFIES)

Examples: Obsidian & Granite

Key Words: All types of rocks can be changes into igneous rocks by the COOLING and MELTING of any rock.

Formed when rocks are WEATHERED and ERODED, sediments get COMPACTED and CEMENTED into solid rocks.

2. SEDIMENTARY ROCKS

Formed when existing rock is changes into new rock by THE HEATING OF THE ROCK AND PRESSURE FROM OTHER ROCKS AROUND IT.

3. METAMORPHIC ROCKS

METAMORPHIC ROCKSKEY WORDS:Metamorphic rocks form under extreme HEAT and PRESSURE.
