ROCKY MOUNTAIN JOINS WITH HUMANA HOSPITAL LUCERNE TO ORGANIZE NEW PROGRAM

Rocky Mounta in He l i cop te r s (Provo, UT) and Humana Hospital Lucerne (Orlando, FL) have devel- oped a new air medical transport pro- gram, which went operational in August,

According to program director Patti Corbett, the interhospital-only flight program, called Med-Flight, serves a 150- to 200-mile radius and uses a BK-117 with a nurse/paramedic crew. 'The aircraft is equipped with balloon pump capabilities so we use Med- Flight primarily for cardiac patients," said Corbett.

While the hospital will provide the paramedic and nurse crews, Rocky Mountain Helicopter will provide the aircraft , pi lots and a ded ica t ed mechanic.

"We chose Rocky because of their reputation in the industry, " said Corbett.
