• Over 200 European Airports in 19 countries benefit from EGNOS safe approaches
• Ahead of Initial Galileo Services 40% of world receiver models have Galileo inside across all the markets
The first European smartphone using Galileo launched in July 2016
E-GNSS is the preferred technology for road tolling of trucks
IMO recognised Galileo as part of the World Wide Radio Navigation System
All cars and trucks in Europe will start using Galileo from 2018 (eCall and Smart Tachograph)

• R&D funding supporting E-GNSS take up in each market segment 86 FP7 projects: 115 demonstrations, 125 products/prototypes, with 40% funds to SMEs
40 H2020 projects: already 3 products in 2 completed projects
5 Fundamental elements published so far to foster EU chipset and receiver development
• With DG GROW, cooperation with ERA, EASA, SESAR, EU agencies and ESA
• H2020 3rd call: to further foster application development for market take up
• Fundamental Elements: 7 projects focusing on Galileo differentiators Open Service authentication: e.g. development of authentication user terminal for Road
Commercial Service High Accuracy: e.g. development of high-end professional receivers
• Continue support for SMEs, start-ups and young entrepreneurs
Two main driverless European products(AKKA depicted) include a navigation
