    ROLES AND TASKS OF ENGINEER

    1) Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography, and other

    Topographical or geologic data to plan projects.

    2) Plan and design transportation or hydraulic systems and structures, ollowing construction

    and government standards, using design sotware and drawing tools.

    !) "ompute load and grade re#uirements, water low rates, and material stress actors to

    determine design speciications.

    $) %nspect project sites to monitor progress and ensure conormance to design speciications

    and saety or sanitation standards.

    &) 'irect construction, operations, and maintenance activities at project site.

    () 'irect or participate in surveying to lay out installations and establish reerence points,

    grades, and elevations to guide construction.

    ) *stimate #uantities and cost o materials, e#uipment, or labor to determine project

    easibility.

    +) Prepare or present public reports, such as bid proposals, deeds, environmental impact

    statements, and property and rightoway descriptions.

    -) Test soils and materials to determine the ade#uacy and strength o oundations, concrete,

    asphalt, or steel.

    structural repairs to industrial and managerial personnel.
