    As we go through life, we will meet people who

    do or say things that hurt us. This happens

    in three ways.

    Our natural reactions:

    Be offended and hurt,Get defensive and angry,

    Think of ways to get even by hurting them.

    Maybe feel guilty about how angry you are,

    since Christians should not feel that way, but

    should be forgiving.

    But what does the Bible say?

    How should be respond to these people?

    There are five things to consider when we areoffended or hurt by someone in our lives.

    1. It is not our fault.

    Some people are hard to get along with.

    They dont get along with anyone.

    Romans 12:17-18 tells us that.

    17 Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful

    to do what is right in the eyes of everybody.18 If it is possible, as far as it depends on

    you, live at peace with everyone.

    2. We must be careful NOT to take revenge.

    Romans 12:19,Deuteronomy 32:35.

    Punishment if Gods job. You and I have nobusiness here.

    Romans 12:19 Do not take revenge, my friends,

    but leave room for Gods wrath, for it iswritten: It is mine to avenge; I will repay,

    says the Lord.

    Deuteronomy 32: 35 It is mine to avenge; I will repay.

    In due time their foot will slip; their day of disaster

    is near and their doom rushes upon them."

    3. We are called to repay evil with good.

    Romans 12:20-21.

    Whats the last thing you want from an enemy?

    To owe them a favor! =burning coals

    20 On the contrary: If your enemy is hungry,feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something

    to drink. In doing this, you will heap burningcoals on his head.21 Do not be overcome by evil, butovercome evil with good.

    4. We are called to pray for them, that God

    would bless them.

    Luke 6:27, Matthew 5:43-47.

    Enables you to pity, then forgive them.

    doorm

    at.Matthew 10:16,

    Avoid these people.

    5. Matthew 10: 16 I am sending you out like sheepamong wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as

    snakes and as innocent as doves.17 Be on your guard against men;

    doormat.

    Matthew 10:16,

    Avoid these people.

    2 Timothy 4:14.

    Never trust them with information they can

    abuse.
