Thank you! Social media has the frequent potential to become a drain and burden on the heart and mind, simply due to the fact that its consumption can leave one feeling less fulfilled by reminding or revealing (ironically) how we’re not connected personally and individually. The life of our Savior Jesus guides us to be “full” in our daily life. Jesus wants us to be “mindful” of the things of God (Mark 8:33); He wants us to receive His peace, one that is in every way the fullness of what God offers in our lives (John 14:27, Isaiah 32:18); Jesus has the fullness which allows us to see the grace which He has poured out on us (John 1:16); Jesus calls out a merciful heart so that others can receive mercy (understanding) from the heart of His children (Matthew 5:7); Jesus, in the midst of the night when He would face betrayal, rejection, and ultimately the cross, He gave thanks (Luke 22:19) by calling His people to share His body, in which resides our thankfulness (Col 3:15). Mindful, peaceful, graceful, merciful, and thankful are but a sampling of the traits of those who are “faithful” to the calling to which we’ve been called in our lives for our King. Be confident, your demonstration of thankfulness to a world in darkness will bring a fullness which lead hearts to faithfulness to our Lord Jesus! “Our recent (and ongoing) social media campaign, #wscocthankful365 has highlighted a bright spirit among our church family at Walnut St. Without your participation, this shared focus could not have been as effective and beneficial as it has been for our family. Thank you! Social media has the frequent potential to become a drain and burden on the heart and mind, simply due to the fact that its consumption can leave one feeling less fulfilled by reminding or revealing (ironically) how we’re not connected personally and individually.
