Nicolae Steinhardt (1912 - 1989)Writer of jewish origin,named Nicu-Aurelian Steinhard converted to Orthodox Christianity in Jilava prison during the communist persecution.After his release he will become monk with the name Nicholas ,at Rohia Monastery. He worked as the monastery’s librarian, while at the same time dedicating himself to writing .The book that brought his international recognition is Happiness Diary.
