ARIA BUONA /GOOD AIRDopo il Giro del 150 anniversario dellUnit dItalia, la nostra corsa riparte da una grande, fortissima suggestione: chi voler sulla cima dello Stelvio? Lappuntamento col destino per il sabato 26 maggio, quando sullarrivo di tappa pi alto dEuropa potrebbe essere assegnata la maglia rosa del vincitore. Cavalcando quei tornanti, Fausto Coppi, nel 1953, scrisse una pagina fondamentale della sua leggenda. Chi ha gambe per emularlo si faccia avanti, la Gazzetta metter la gioia e linchiostro con cui si celebrano le grandi imprese di uno sport amatissimo. Nei momenti di splendore e pure in quelli, e non sono mancati, di buio pesto. Se poi lo Stelvio non dovesse chiudere i giochi, lo spettacolo della cronometro nale allombra del Duomo di Milano, nella culla del ciclismo, diverr allo stesso tempo esaltante e decisivo: degna conclusione di 3.500 chilometri corsi a perdiato allinseguimento di un sogno che da 113 anni inamma generazioni di ciclisti. Michele Acquarone, Mauro Vegni e tutto lo sta di Rcs Sport hanno disegnato un percorso equilibrato e umano dove la tradizione si mescola alla modernit. Ma nessuno parli di Giro facile. Tra la Danimarca (decima partenza dallestero) e Milano ci sono tre settimane di corsa con una quarantina di salite e almeno quattro tappe che fanno paura. Penso agli arrivi in quota di Cervinia, di Cortina, al doppio passaggio sullAlpe di Pampeago e alla giornata campale con Mortirolo e Stelvio in rapida successione. I velocisti avranno questanno almeno 6 o 7 occasioni e altrettante ne avranno gli attaccanti, mentre le cronometro dovrebbero essere decisive soltanto in caso di spareggio tra gli uomini pi forti. Lalbo doro ricomincia da Michele Scarponi, lultimo vincitore subentrato allo spagnolo Alberto Contador, disarcionato dalla decisione del Tas. La speranza che questa e le prossime edizioni della nostra corsa non abbiamo pi nulla a che fare con avvocati e tribunali. Il Giro racconta, da oltre un secolo, storie straordinarie di uomini coraggiosi. Qualcuno ha mal disposto della nostra ducia, ma la corsa e la sua storia hanno ben altro respiro. Da questo ripartiamo tutti, come ogni anno: corridori, organizzatori e milioni di appassionati. Il Giro dItalia aria buona.

Following the Giro dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the Unication of Italy, the race starts again with a strong and suggestive feeling: who will reach the Stelvio peak? Appointment with fate has been set up on Saturday May 26, when on the highest stage nish in Europe, the winner of maglia rosa could be awarded. In 1953, riding those same bends, Fausto Coppi wrote an essential page of his legend. Whoever has legs strong enough to emulate him shall come on; the Gazzetta will provide the joy and the ink necessary to celebrate the great exploits of a beloved sport. And this both in bright times and in the darkest moments. In the event the Stelvio would not be the turning point of the race, then the nal time trial stage underneath the Milan Duomo, cradle of cycling, will become at the same time thrilling and crucial: the worthy conclusion of 3,500 breathtaking kilometers in the pursuit of a dream that since 113 years rouses generations of riders. Michele Acquarone, Mauro Vegni and the whole sta of Rcs Sport designed a well balanced and human route where tradition meets modernity. However, nobody shall refer to the Giro as being easy. Between Denmark (tenth start from abroad) and Milan, there are three weeks of racing with about forty or so climbs and at least four scary stages. Reference is made to the uphill nishes of Cervinia and Cortina, to the double crossing of the Alpe di Pampeago and to the exhausting day featuring Mortirolo and Stelvio in quick succession. This year sprinters will benet of at least six or seven opportunities and same will be for strikers, while time trial stages should be crucial only in case of play-o among the strongest riders. The prize record book restarts from Michele Scarponi, the last winner who succeeded to the Spanish rider Alberto Contador, unsaddled from his bike by a decision issued by the Tas. We all hope that this race and the forthcoming editions of our race will have nothing to share anymore with lawyers and courts. Since more than a century the Giro tells extraordinary stories of brave men. Somebody breached our trust but the race and its history deserve much more than this. Ventisei Motociclisti, sei equipaggi automontati, un furgone di assistenza meccanica - tutti contrassegnati con una particolare targa POLIZIA STRADALE - GIRO DITALIA - si avvarranno della collaborazione, lungo il percorso, di altre 500 pattuglie che presidieranno il territorio. La particolare attenzione del Ministero degli Interni italiano per la popolare manifestazione permetter di tutelare al meglio la corsa rosa.

LA RAI AL GIRO /RAI AT GIROPer il quindicesimo anno consecutivo la Rai ha lonere e lonore della produzione televisiva del Giro dItalia. Nonostante la non facile congiuntura economica sono stati fatti investimenti su telecamere e trasporto del segnale per migliorare ulteriormente la qualit delle immagini che verranno di use in ogni parte del mondo. Il sistema di trasmissione sar totalmente digitale. La corsa verr ripresa da ben cinque telecamere sulle moto e da due camere girostabilizzate montate sugli elicotteri. In caso di maltempo laereo ponte garantir comunque la visione della tappa in diretta. Il capo progetto di questo grande impegno televisivo Enrico Motta, ormai un veterano dei grandi eventi targati Rai. Il direttore di Raisport Eugenio De Paoli ha a dato anche questanno al vicedirettore Auro Bulbarelli il ruolo di Team Leader della spedizione giornalistica. Il telecronista u ciale del Giro sar Francesco Pancani con il commento tecnico di Davide Cassani. Cronisti dalle motociclette saranno Andrea De Luca e Paolo Savoldelli. Le interviste e i servizi verranno realizzati da Antonello Orlando, Enrico Cattaneo e Fabrizio Piacente con il coordinamento di Loredana Quatrini. Al timone della storica trasmissione il Processo alla Tappa stata confermata Alessandra De Stefano, coadiuvata da Beppe Conti e Silvio Martinello. E previsto (ed una novit 2012) un collegamento giornaliero con la sede di tappa successiva per spiegare al pubblico i luoghi e le caratteristiche del percorso che verr a rontato dagli atleti di l a poche ore. Jean Paul Irali avr la gestione del sito internet www.raisport.rai.it dal quale gli utenti potranno seguire tutta la gara in streaming con facolt di scegliere sorgenti di immagini personalizzate. La trasmissione TGiro, in onda ogni giorno alle ore 20.00 su Raisport 2 sar condotta e curata dal caporedattore Alessandro Fabretti. La giornata sulle reti Rai comincer con la rubrica Si Gira, pilotata da Marino Bartoletti. Su Raisport 2 questa trasmissione avr una durata di unora (20 su Rai 3) e sar collocata nel palinsesto ad orari combacianti con quelli di partenza delle tappe per consentire una proposizione del via volante sempre in diretta. Tutto quanto successo in carovana nellarco della giornata sar invece raccontato da Piergiorgio Severini nella rubrica Giro Notte. Nazzareno Balani rmer la regia principale, con lapporto di Stefano Brunozzi e Gianluca Giardini, la regia internazionale sar di Francesca Portinari mentre alle rubriche ci saranno Pietro Sollecchia (Si Gira), Antonella Rossi (TGiro) e Annarita Cardinali. Raisport ha deciso, come omaggio ad uno straordinario artista che non pi tra noi, di riproporre la sigla che Lucio Dalla compose per ledizione del Giro nel 2003: il brano Sono in fuga. For the fteenth year in a row Rai will have the honor and responsibility of TV broadcasting the Giro dItalia. Notwithstanding the di cult economic trend important investments have been made as far as cameras and data carrying are concerned, in order to further improve the quality of images which will be broadcasted all over the world. The applied broadcasting system will use exclusively digital data. The lming of the race will be performed by no less than ve cameras on motorbikes and two gyro-stabilized cameras mounted on the helicopters. In case of bad weather conditions the bridge aircraft will in any case ensure the live broadcast of the stage. Enrico Motta, by now a veteran as far as big events with the RAI label are concerned, is the project manager of this important TV undertaking. This year again Raisports manager Eugenio De Paoli entrusted vice-director Auro Bulbarelli with the function of Team Leader of the journalistic expedition. Francesco Pancani will be the Giros o cial television commentator together with Davide Cassani for the technical part. Andrea De Luca and Paolo Savoldelli will be in charge of commentaries from the motorbike. Interviews and reports will be performed by Antonello Orlando, Enrico Cattaneo and Fabrizio Piacente with Loredana Quatrinis coordination. Alessandra De Stefano has been conrmed at the helm of the Processo alla Tappa historical broadcast, with the assistance of Beppe Conti and Silvio Martinello. The Giro and Italy, the story of the race and of the country through the microphones of Rai Radio 1. This is the goal of Baobab al Giro, the radio holder which every day, from Monday to Friday, will be dedicated to the pink race. Sprints and pursuits, challenges to the pink jersey and the places in crossed by the race which passes right on Italians doorsteps. From the nish Emanuele Dotto and Giovanni Scaramuzzino, on their motorbikes from the heart of the stage - Tarciso Mazzeo and the former rider Massimo Ghirotto. Nothing will remain untold in their story which, minute by minute, will keep the audience informed on the follow-up of the race. However, the Giro will also be an occasion to visit countries and places reached by riders. Cycling, history, habits and colors. Several personalities will enrich the program with voices and news. The race will also be followed by Tiziana Ribichesu and Francesco Graziani who will alternate on the microphone and in the Saxa Rubra studios, for discovering places and artworks, stories and creativity along the Giro dItalias route. Saranno oltre 105.000 gli alunni delle scuole primarie di tutta Italia che prenderanno parte questanno alle attivit di Biciscuola, un progetto di RCS Sport-La Gazzetta dello Sport, ormai consolidata, che promuove il Giro dItalia tra i giovanissimi. In 11 anni, Biciscuola ha insegnato, divertito e incoraggiato allutilizzo della bicicletta per uno stile di vita sano oltre 1 milione di bambini, assegnando premi e riconoscimenti al Giro dItalia a oltre 20.000 ragazzi coinvolti. I ragazzi saranno coinvolti in attivit quali il Mini Paddock, il Quizzone Stradale, i Segreti del Meccanico Estatheo, e riceveranno lezioni di sicurezza stradale a cura della Polizia Stradale, che ha anche predisposto per la classe vincitrice uno speciale Pullman Azzurro che permetter ai ragazzi a bordo di fare da apri-pista alla corsa e di assistere allarrivo di ciascuna tappa davvero in prima la. This year over 105,000 students of Italian elementary schools will take part to the 11th Biciscuola, a now consolidated RCS Sport-La Gazzetta dello Sport project, which promotes the Giro dItalia among young people. In 11 years Biciscuola has taught, entertained and fostered the use of bicycle for a healthy lifestyle to over one million children, awarding prizes and recognitions during the Giro dItalia to more than 20,000 participating young people. Tappa sostanzialmente pianeggiante, priva di vere di colt altimetriche, ma certamente insidiosa a causa del vento. Si attraversa ad anello la porzione occidentale dello Yutland. Usciti da Herning si punta verso il Mare del Nord per raggiungere il primo Traguardo Volante a Sndervig (km 48.7). Si costeggia quindi per quasi 60 km la costa e le dune per poi rientrare nellinterno in direzione di Herning. A Lemvig sono posti prima il Rifornimento Fisso e in seguito il GPM (RIF. km 110-113; GPM 4a 47 m - km 117.9). Giunti a Herning (senza altre asperit) dopo un primo passaggio sulla linea di arrivo previsto un anello di 12.4 km per giungere allarrivo. The route runs mostly on level road, with no important di culty as far as the contour line is concerned but could be treacherous for possible contrary winds. The race crosses in a circular way the western part of the Jutland. Leaving Herning. the route points towards the Northern Sea in the direction of the rst Intermediate Sprint in Sndervig (km 48.7). It then runs along the coast and dunes for almost 60 km before turning back towards inland and Herning. In Lemvig take place rst the Feed Zone (km 110-113) followed by the GPM (4a 47 m - km 117.9). Once in Herning (with no further di culty) following a rst passage on the nish line, the riders shall perform a 12.4 km circuit before reaching the nish.

La tappa composta da tre circuiti che attraversano la porzione dello Jutland Orientale attorno a Horsens. I primi due circuiti, pi grandi (rispettivamente circa 45 km e 100 km), vengono percorsi una volta sola, mentre il terzo di 14.6 km viene a rontato 3 volte. Allinterno del secondo circuito grande si trovano il TV (Hovedgrd km 90.6) e il GPM (4a 159 m km 103.8) in prossimit del punto di quota massima della Danimarca (Ejer Bavnehj). Ultimi 45 km sul veloce circuito cittadino. The stage consists in three circuits crossing the eastern part of Jutland around Horsens. The two rst circuits, the longest (respectively approximately 45 km and 100 km) are to be covered only once, while the third one, 14.6 km long, shall be repeated three times. The Intermediate Spring (Hovedgrd km 90.6) and the GPM (4a 159 m km 103.8) in the neighborhood of Denmarks highest point (Ejer Bavnehj) are located in the course of the second circuit. The last 45 km take place on the speedy urban circuit.

Prevalentemente composto da larghi e veloci viali cittadini interrotto soltanto da una sequenza di svolte tecniche (a volte a gomito) tra i 7 e i 5 km dal passaggio sul traguardo. Ultimi 5 km praticamente rettilinei con lultima curva a 2 km dallarrivo. Rettilineo di arrivo di 1000 m in asfalto di 500 m larghezza 8 m. A 14.6 kilometers long nal circuit, mostly consisting in broad and speedy urban avenues only interrupted by a series of technical bends (at time U-bends) between 7 and 5 km from the lines crossing. Last 5 km almost straight with the last bend 2 km far from the nish. The home stretch is 1,000 meters long out of which 500 meters on an 8 meters wide asphalted road.
