SUMMER MUSINGS-
Here are a few of the things going on at Newman during the summer lull:
Construction. The roof repairs to the student housing have begun. There is still much work to be done in the interior. We are grateful to the Catholic Foundation for the $10,000.00 grant that made this possible. Thank you to Walt Tearne, our maintenance man for all the prep work! Other Summer Projects. Thank you to Dana Fischer, Dana Helfenbein, and Jane Furet for your help in cleanup startup! Garden Clean-Up - Work on the oleander bushes is also underway. The gardeners have cut and caned the bushes! The bushes are showing signs of new life! The much needed work will be done in phases so you will see some changes in time. Summer Squeeze. As you know from previous financial reports, the Center has a perpetual cash-flow problem, which was pointedly noted in our recent audit. In the summer months this is particularly severe. Please don’t forget us during the summer months!
