Room 215 – December News 8 th Grade – Language Arts We have completed the second novel, The House of the Scorpion. All RWS’s should be completed and the students had a final test. The student’s did an amazing job on the discussions surrounding the book and all the activities related to the novel. There has been a lot of practice for the upcoming selective enrollment test and the private school test. Good luck to everyone. Enjoy your Winter Break and pick up a book that you enjoy and spend some quiet time reading. 6 th Grade Language Arts We have completed our second novel, Becoming Naomi Leon. The students did an amazing job on their RWS’s. We are now reading Seedfolks. SEEDFOLKS uses 13 narrators to tell the story of the founding and first year of a community garden in an immigrant neighborhood of Cleveland, Ohio. 3 rd Grade Language Arts We have completed the novel, A Long Way From Chicago. The students have done an amazing job on all the various activities that go along with the novel. We have been working on character development, vocabulary, understanding the main idea, and using details in the story to help us write our on stories. Enjoy your Winter Break and pick up a book that you enjoy and spend some quiet time reading.
