Our beautiful Helen Duncan Room is an elegant drawing room with deep, ornate

cornicing, beautiful chandelier and imposing Victoria Mantelpiece.

It has 3 large ‘down to the floor’ windows facing a south-easterly direction with

beautiful views over the adjacent St Mary’s Cathedral and grounds. The room

measures 8.3 x 5.8 metres, some 48 square meters. It seats up to 80 people in

Theatre-style, around 35 people in Boardroom-style and 30 people in Cafe-style

and is a beautiful setting for private functions, weddings, meetings, seminars

and as a training venue.

The Helen Duncan Room is on the first floor and has an ante room called The

Mary Duffy room. With adjoining doors, it is perfect for a reception area prior

to functions in The Helen Duncan Room, or for a break-out area when

running training courses, or for serving teas or drinks for functions.

The Mary Duffy Room is 4.85 x 5.8 metres, and enjoys the same ornate

features as the larger room next door. It can hold up to 20 people in a

Theatre-style layout and 15 people in boardroom and cafe-style layout.

Our beautiful Sanctuary is used for our weekly services of worship, but as a

community building, it is also used for our Groups, Tai Chi, Yoga, Meditation, etc.

The Sanctuary provides a beautiful space for weddings, meetings and for private

room hire. The room measures 8.3 x 5.8 metres, some 48 square meters and will

seat 60 in Theatre-style and around 20 people in Boardroom-style. *Being on the

ground floor, it is ideal for those that find mobility a problem*

The Sanctuary has dark oak panelling on the lower walls and window surrounds,

beautiful stained glass windows, ornate cornicing and brass chandeliers. It is fully

carpeted with a small raised platform and pulpit at one end of the room.

Our intimate Library on the ground floor doubles as our shop and Healing

Room. It is available for private room hire and being on the ground floor, is

in high demand for private classes, meetings and other functions.

The room measures 4.85 x 5.80 metres, is fully carpeted and has beautiful

large windows looking out towards St Mary’s Cathedral gardens. The

Library can sit up to 10 people in a boardroom-like style, perfect for those

little meetings. On top of all of that, it is a quiet, peaceful room with a

lovely ambiance that will help you concentrate on what you have to do.

Situated on the second floor, it is a beautiful room that boasts the same

Victorian features as the Helen Duncan and Mary Duffy rooms, only a bit

smaller. Very practical for professional meetings or club meetings, it

has one side with a boardroom-like table that can hold up to 10 people

and another area that can sit up to 18 people.

The Boardroom is a great room to hire whether you’re planning a

meeting, a reunion, a class, a wedding or a private function.

The Sir Arthur Conan Doyle Centre is a Spiritual Centre for the well-being of

society. As such, healing plays a large part in what we do. We have private

therapy rooms which are used for all aspects of healing (mental & physical), and

are available to hire for private therapies and consultations.

All therapy rooms are on the first floor, they are fully carpeted, have large

windows with window blinds and are furnished with therapy beds, tables and

chairs.

Front Basement Room

Rear Basement Room

Don't be fooled by the word "basement", our room offer a bright environment with lots of space to feel comfortable. It is like an "oasis of calm", only minutes away from the city buzz. The “Front Basement Room” is carpeted and has multiple storage units throughout. It is located off a quiet hallway, giving it the perfect location for your meeting, lesson or any other activities. The "Front Basement Room" can hold up to 15/20 people in Boardroom style or up to 30 people in Theatre style.

The “Rear Basement Room” is situated at the rear (as its name can tell you) and offers two very bright windows looking onto St Mary's Cathedral Gardens. The room features brand new wooden floor and has been completely refurbished. It has two entrance doors and is located off the main hallway, at the bottom of the stairs. It is a very bright room, perfect for all kind of activities/uses, from yoga or therapies to corporate meetings... or even as a quirky wedding venue! The "Rear Basement Room" is now available to hire and can welcome 20/25 people in Boardroom/Cafe style and up to 50 people in Theatre style.
