ATTENTION PARENTS OF YOUNG MUSICIANS Richard Judd Music Scholarship Applications

Auditions on March 28, 2015

It is time again for the Richard Judd Music Scholarship Auditions! This Scholarship Fund was

established in 1983 to honor Richard Judd upon his retirement as Principal of Wade Thomas

School. Scholarships are awarded to recognize students’ achievement on musical instruments.

Brookside, Hidden Valley, Manor and Wade Thomas students who have studied an instrument

for at least eight months can apply. 2014 scholarship winners may not compete this year.

Depending on the outcome of the auditions, Scholarships of $100 to $200 will be awarded to

three or four musicians to assist with music lessons or instrument purchase/upkeep. Certificates

of Achievement will be awarded to other promising musicians. Winners of Scholarships and

Certificates of Achievement will have the opportunity (voluntary!) to perform in a student

assembly at Wade Thomas School on Wednesday, April 1, at 9:30 AM.

At the audition, students begin by playing a scale of their choice, then perform two pieces with

different styles and rhythms, first announcing the title and composer of each. Students should be

It is once again time to submit an application for the Nancy Scott Music Scholarship Auditions.

that have studied an instrument or voice for at least 1½ years, including those students in

White Hill Band, Chorus and Orchestra. 2014 scholarship winners may not compete this year.

Depending on the outcome of the auditions, scholarships of $100 to $200 will be awarded to two
