Rotary Club of Uttara
Vocational Service Award ceremony held Metro Desk
The Vocational Service Award ceremony 2011 of the
Rotary Club of Uttara was held at Uttara Club in the
cityrecently, says a press release.
Every year, the Rotary Club awards personalities with
highethical standards in the fields of different vocations
inrecognition of their contributions to the community.
The award recipients of this year are Syed BahauddinAlam, Md
Nazmus Sakib and ABM Raffi Sazzad inScience & Technology for
their invention of digitalwatermarking for safe mobile banking; Dr
Md IbrahimKhalilullah in Education for community school in Bogra
for
poor people; Md Shahidul Ahsan in Entrepreneurship;Manjurul
Ahsan Bulbul in Media & Journalism; and DrTaibun Nahar Rashid
for Social Service & Literature.
The 3D seismic survey team of BAPEX was awardedspecial
recognition for exploration of new gas field in thecountry. Prof Dr
Hossain Mansur, chairman ofPetroBangla, Mortuza Ahmed, MD of BAPEX,
and the team members led by Meherul Hasan received the award.
Prof Dr MA Sattar Mandal, member of Planning Commission and
former vice chancellor of Bangladesh AgricultureUniversity,
presented the awards to the winners as the chief guest.
Rotary Dis trict Governor Rtn AHM Zaker was present as special
guest. The function was presided over by ClubPresident Rtn Dr Md AH
Zahidul Islam Romel.
Among others, Programme Chair Dr Md. Shahadat Hossain, BM
Shoaib, Club Secretary Kalimur Rahman, MM
from December 1 in the first phase
and February 1 in the second phase.
