Phone: (714) 870-8661, Fax: (714) 870-1977 and e-mail: [email protected] Contractor shall furnish and install, where shown on plans, (1) KAIRAK U.L. approved “PARA-TROL” Water-cooled Remote Refrigeration Package, Model KIR-5T, With Control Panel, 208 Volts, 3 Phase, and 60 Hz. Refrigeration system shall be housed in a painted enclosure. The frame shall be fabricated of galvanized steel. Entire frame shall be pre-assembled, welded, cleaned, and painted with a prime coat of zinc chromate then finished with a coat of baked enamel epoxy based paint. The condenser shall be sectional, removable water-cooled plate condenser and shall be designed for 15ºFTD. Exhaust fan motors shall be mounted on the top of the painted enclosure. 1. PARA-TROL WATER-COOLED REFRIGERATION SYSTEM A. Parallel compressor unit shall employ two parallel-piped scroll compressors (Copeland) two

for medium temperature & two for low temperature, two back-up compressors, a control panel, oversized water-cooled condenser and receiver all mounted on one common structural steel frame. The control panel shall contain all the necessary controls for food service fixtures and motors, and shall be factory wired to the motor compressors, the inter-connected motor compressors shall act as one condensing unit with capacity control obtained by cycling individual compressors using solid state pressure controller. The compressor staging controls 2 parallel piped refrigeration compressors with cut-in / cut-out suction pressure settings. The suction algorithm shall use pressure reading from the suction transducer to determine the number of stages that should be active in order to reach the defined set points. The system shall include an electronic control staging of the compressors to match the refrigeration by means of the pressure transducer. A software program shall be provided to allow monitoring of the set points from a personal computer.

B. Each unit shall be equipped with a replaceable core liquid line filter-drier, moisture indicator and hand valve mounted between the receiver outlet valve and the liquid manifold. There shall also be a replaceable core-suction line filter mounted between each compressor and the main suction header.

C. Individual branch circuits shall be connected to liquid and suction line manifolds. To achieve multiple evaporating temperatures within a medium or low temperature range, EPR valves with suction-stop shall be used.

D. Fixture thermostat and liquid line solenoid valve combinations shall be employed for accurate temperature and humidity control.

E. All condensing units shall be new and factory assembled to operate with the refrigerant specified in the refrigeration engineering summary sheet. R-404A refrigerant shall be used on all commercial and low temperature units.

2. OIL EQUALIZATION SYSTEM A. Each unit shall be equipped with an oil separator in conjunction with an oil equalization

system to assure a proper amount of oil to each compressor whether running or cycled off for continuous proper lubrication.

B. Each oil equalization system shall be equipped with oil reservoir, oil return filter/drier automatic oil level regulators for each compressor and interconnecting tubing per schematic diagram. The oil level control system shall incorporate isolation valves to facilitate serviceability and minimize system contamination.

3. PRE-PIPING A. All refrigerant lines shall be extended to one side of the package in a neat and orderly

manner. Suction line for low temperature units must be insulated with armaflex (3/4” thick). B. All tubing shall be securely supported and anchored with clamps. C. Ends of lines shall be capped against contamination after the unit is complete. These capped

ends are to be opened only at final connection of the package to fixtures. 4. CONTROL PANEL A. The package shall have factory mounted and pre-wired control panel complete with

interlocked main- disconnect, compressor circuit breakers, contactors and time clocks wired for single-point power connection. Program timer shall be used for all commercial temperature systems and grasslin model DT140ST time clocks shall be used for low temperature systems.

B. Electrical contractor shall provide and install main power lines to panel and provide wire harness wiring for control and defrost heater between and the defrost clock and the refrigeration fixtures, all in accordance with the wiring diagram and local codes.

5. TEMPERATURE MONITOR, ALARM AND SAFETY SYSTEM AT MANAGER’ OFFICE
