ROUND ROCK RANCHSeton Medical Center

WilliamsonONE OF WILLIAMSON COUNTY’S

BEST KEPT SECRETSSeton Medical Center Williamson is located at the intersection

of University Blvd (FM 1431) and A.W. Grimes (FM 1460), just about 6 miles from Round Rock Ranch. Seton Williamson is a state of the art facility that has recently been designated as the only Level II Trauma Center in Williamson County. It is part of the Seton Healthcare Family, a not-for-profit organization and the region’s largest community service organization that provided over $400 million last year in health care to benefit the poor and the community.

My wife Arlene and I have been volunteers at Seton Williamson since it opened and there is hardly a day that goes by when we don’t hear, “I didn’t even know there was a hospital here?” or “how long have you guys been open?” On the other hand, once people have been to the hospital, then we hear “this is a beautiful facility, what a bunch of friendly people, and the service is great”.

In addition to Seton Williamson, the adjoining Medical Office Building is now fully occupied. They have services ranging from Family Practice to Oncology and will soon have a Day Surgery facility in addition to the existing one in the hospital.

So, if you have not yet seen Seton Williamson, I encourage you to take a ride out there and take a look around. Of course, there is always a need for more volunteers. If you are looking for a way to get involved or help others in your community, it only takes a few hours a week. There are volunteer positions throughout the hospital in the Gift Shop (which in my biased opinion, is the best around), in the ER, the various information and reception desks, etc. We also have a group that sews/crochets blankets for the new babies and lap robes for patients.

If you have any questions or interest in volunteering you can contact me or the Volunteer Office at (512) 324-4298 or go to the Seton web site at www.seton.net

Meet the Girl Scouts of Round Rock Ranch!

By Kaoni Norris, Troop 1541

I’m so excited to be able to highlight the Girl Scouts of RRR in our newsletter! Girls of all ages are doing amazing things in our community, and I’m proud to be able to showcase the girls each month. For our debut article, Daisy Troop 1541 would like to take a moment to thank all the amazing neighbors in RRR that so generously donated items for the fire victims in Bastrop. They collected enough donations to fill a trailer, truck cab, and truck bed to the brim, and still donations were pouring in! The families down in Bastrop were extremely grateful, and we couldn’t have done it without your support. Thank you so much, and we hope to be able to work together again in the future!

Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence and character, who make the world a better place. For information about joining Girl Scouts (new troops are always forming!), please email [email protected].
