InfoSnap
The Roxbury Office would like to remind everyone to please fill out their
InfoSnap information. The link was sent to you from the Solon Board of
Education and if you need help with it, please contact the Board of
Education office. This information needs to be filled out before students go on their field trips.
A big THANK YOU to those parents who already completed the forms!
Fundraiser
The PTA would like to thank you for your support and
interest in last year’s unique Fall Art Fundraising Activity,
KIDS KREATIONS! We found it to be such a success and so
much fun for students and families alike, that we’re
participating in this exciting program again this school year. Kids Kreations takes pride in
developing unique artwork keepsakes that document the youth and individuality of each child
during these precious, fleeting years. We found it to be a great experience all around with
quality products and customer service.
Kids Kreations allows each participating artist to have artwork professionally processed into a
variety of exclusive items. In a few weeks, all families will receive a free page of stickers &
catalog created from your child's artwork! These products make unique keepsakes and
wonderful gifts for the entire family! You may have seen Kids Kreations product samples on
display at the back to school ice-cream social and/or on display at school. Hopefully you will
find some products you love - to enjoy at home, or share with others as gifts for the holidays! A
HUGE thanks to Mr. Martin for making this possible!
This fundraiser is the method by which the PTA pays for its fabulous student-centered programs
& events such as assemblies, COSI on Wheels, Family Fun Night, EWOW, Fall Fest, Art Show,
Fourth Grade Year-end Party, Field Day, and much more. In addition, Kids Kreations offers a fun
and unique way for each artist to gain pride and self-confidence through sharing artwork with
others!
Fall Fest – Oct 6th
Fall Fest is Friday, October 6th - Rain or shine! Locally owned food
trucks will be there with many kid-friendly options available to
purchase. Raffles tickets will be for sale for our amazing raffle baskets.
There will be games, a hay ride, DJ, photo booth, and much more fun!
The main playground parking lot will be closed for the event. Please consider parking at either
Arthur Road or Orchard schools.
Budget Bin – Oct. 18th-24th
For anyone who hasn’t been to this event. Budget Bin is essentially a huge
indoor garage sale held inside the Arthur Road School. Sale items are either
consigned by people and groups or donated. Consignors come from all over
the Northeast Ohio area and bring new or gently used items of all kinds to
sell. Consignors receive 50% of the profit from their sales. The other 50% of the profit goes to
the PTA/Lois Gazeley Scholarship Fund. College-bound seniors from Solon High School can
apply for the awards. We are proud to reward well-rounded students and not simply those with
the highest grades.
Budget Bin is the only event that involves PTA groups from all Solon Schools. We could not have
such a successful sale without the wonderful volunteers. With morning, afternoon, evening
and Saturday hours there is an opportunity for everyone to help and to meet other Solon
parents!
This is a great time to clean out your closets!! Not only can you make some $$$, but you are
also contributing to much needed scholarships. Further information can be
found www.freewebs.com/budgetbin.

Red Ribbon Week – Oct. 23rd-27th
See attached page for more information.
National Unity Day – Oct. 25th
All students are invited to wear ORANGE on Wednesday, October 25th
in support of National Unity Day. That’s the day everyone can come
together – in schools, communities, and online – and send one large ORANGE message of
support, hope, and unity to show that we are together against bullying and united for kindness,
acceptance and inclusion.
Health & Safety
October 25 is Unity Day, a national day to stand up against bullying, recognized by wearing the color orange. All Solon schools have anti-bullying initiatives in place that are relevant to
their respective age groups, but this is a way to recognize the importance of kindness, acceptance and inclusion as a district. More information will be shared at the October meeting. http://www.pacer.org/bullying/
Parents are encouraged to sign up for Know! Tips through the statewide Start Talking! program. Provides parents and other caregivers with twice monthly, FREE Know! Parent Tips by email that contain current facts about alcohol, tobacco and other drugs, as well as action steps they can take to help children resist peer pressure to use. Can post the link in your newsletters and on Facebook pages. http://starttalking.ohio.gov
Picture Retake Day – Oct. 26th
Picture Retake Day will be Thursday, October 26th, for those who would like their
pictures retaken or may have missed Picture Day. Further information will be
sent home with your child.
Roxbury Responds:
Roxbury Rakes Roxbury Responds has teamed up with the Solon Senior Center and we’ll be raking yards of senior citizens who need our help.
October 21st 10:00am
Email Emily Gallagher to sign up or return to form that came home [email protected] You’ll receive an email with your team and an address of a home. You’ll show up and rake the leaves to the curb with your Roxbury friends and you’ve done your good deed! This is a student and parent event, not a drop off event. Thank you for your time!
Spirit Day – Oct. 27th
Spirit Day will be Friday, October 27th. Contact Danna Hoegler
([email protected]) or Marylou Horwitz ([email protected]) if
you would like to hand out items during lunch. Four to five parents are needed each lunch
period.
Halloween Parties – Oct. 31st
Halloween Parties will be Tuesday, October 31st from 1:15-2:15pm. Only
those parents who signed up through the classroom coordinator to help run
the party and have received a wristband will be allowed into the building to
help with the party. If your name is not on the volunteer list with the office, you will not be
allowed in. If you are volunteering, thank you for your time! Please remember that you will
not be allowed into the building before 1pm (no exceptions) and siblings are not allowed to
accompany you to the parties. These rules are in place to ensure the safety of all people
present in Roxbury during the party times. If you have food/drink to drop off, please do so
before noon. Parents who would like to watch the Costume Parade are asked to line up
around the Playground Blacktop by 1pm. See attached list of classroom coordinators.
Candy Collections – Nov. 1st-3rd
Too much Halloween Candy? Roxbury will be collecting any leftover candy you
would like to donate for the USO. Please send in your candy with your child on
November 1st through 3rd to the office. Thank you for helping us support our
troops!
Fall Book Fair – Nov. 6th-9th
Roxbury PTA’s Fall Scholastic Book Fair will be Nov. 6th-9th during the student’s assigned Library
specials and will also be open during their recess periods. Students will also be allowed to
make a wish list during their assigned Library time to bring home to their parents. On Thursday,
Nov. 9th, we will be having a Family Night from 4-8pm during conferences. If you are unable to
attend, please consider ordering on-line. The on-line book fair will be open from Nov. 1st – Nov.
14th. Books ordered before Nov. 5th will be delivered during our Book Fair. Books ordered
after Nov. 5th will be shipped once our online Book Fair closes after Nov. 14th. To access our

IMPORTANT INFORMATION & REMINDERS!:
Photo ID It is school policy to present a photo ID when you come into the school. Please refer to the Family Handbook for further information. School Dismissal Car Pickup: Please remember to enter Solon Blvd from Arthur
Road instead of Inwood Dr. That way the car pickup line can be on the same side of the street as the school and no one needs to turn left into the school. This will help with the traffic flow after school. Walkers: Please remember to pick up your students either across Solon Blvd or at the Roxbury School sign. The teachers are responsible for getting the students to the sign and will not release them to parents standing at the door. After School Care Centers: Please remember to contact your after school care centers with your changes in dismissal plans. The centers tend to call the schools when a child does not arrive as scheduled. Thanks! Facebook If you are on Facebook, please consider joining the Roxbury PTA group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/RoxburyPTASolon/). We will post our sign-ups on this group when we are looking for volunteers. For the safety and privacy of our children, only Roxbury families will be permitted in this group. If you send a request to join and are not approved right away, check your "Other" Facebook messages. We will be double-checking all new member requests to ensure that they have children at Roxbury. Yearbook If you take pictures at any school event, please send them to [email protected] to be included in the yearbook. We would like to have as many kids represented in the yearbook as we can! Parking When coming to school, please do not park in the front drive before 8am or after 2pm. Please park in the side lot or on the side ABC streets. Please do not park on Solon Boulevard in front of the school at any time. Birthday Policy Treats and trinkets will no longer be allowed to be brought in to celebrate your child's birthday. The school is recommending that you send in a book for your teacher's classroom library. Please refer to your Family Handbook for further information. Doctor/Dentist Appointments Please remember to bring a note from your child's doctor/dentist if your child will be missing any part of the school day.

affect your FuelPerks in any way!
3) Heinen’s – If you have a Heinen’s Preferred Card or Check Cashing
