MINING LANDS BRANCH
Location and Access
The property is located approximately 40 miles north of Kenora, Ontario and 64 miles east of Lac du Bonnet, Manitoba, figure l shows the location of the property. Access in the summer is by float plane from Kenora or Lac du Bonnet. Access with a diamond drill must be done with a helicopter. Helicopter are stationed in Winnipeg which is about 135 miles from the property and Kenora.
Claim Status
The Pen property consists of two claims: 1161685 and 1161686. The property is located in the Kenora Mining Division, Rex Lake Area on claim map G-2637. Figure 2 is a photocopy of the claim map which shows the location of the claims. The table below summarizes the claim status.
Table l: List of claims that comprise the Pen property.
Claim Number Recording Date Area of the claim in Hectares1161685 Sept 10, 1992 1281161686 June 14,1993 128
The registered holder of the claims is William Scanlon Ferreira, client number 131531. The total area of the property is 256 hectares or l square mile.
Property Geology
The property contains three copper showings: the north showing; the Perkins showing; and the south showing. Figure 3 shows the location of these showings and the claim boundaries. These showings contain up to 12.1 07o Copper in grab samples, figure3. The copper mineralization is hosted in a mafic gneiss which consists of amphibole, pyroxene, biotite and locally chalcopyrite. The host rocks consists of garnet biotite altered paragneiss, pegmatite and felsic granitic gneiss. The north showing is the best showing on the property.
The property was geologically mapped by David Parker of the Ontario Geological Survey; Parker, I.R. and Laporte, N. 1993. Parkers map serves as the geological base for the property.

Property Exploration History
The exploration history is summarized in table 2.
Table 2: Summary of the exploration history on the Pen property.
1962 Discovery of showings by prospectors- Limited Trenching
1963 Optioned to Steep Rock Iron Mines Ltd- Linecutting- Trenching, rock sampling and geological mapping- Geophysical Survey's: Ronka EM survey; fluxgate magnetometer
survey and self potential survey
1964 Optioned to Rio Tinto Canadian Exploration Limited- Induced polarization survey- Seventeen diamond drill holes totaling 2,955 feet, location of the
diamond drill holes and summary of assay results are shown on figure 3.
1964-1965 Prospectors
1985 - 1990 Noranda Exploration Co. Ltd.- Linecutting- Geological mapping, rock sampling, lithogeochemical survey- Geophysical survey's consisted of VLF-EM and magnetic survey's
1992 - present W. S. Ferreira Ltd.- Linecutting- Geological mapping on the North showing- Geophysical survey's consisted of magnetometer and max-min
electromagnetic survey's.- diamond drilling, presented in this report.
Work Done
Work done on the property consisted of drilling four diamond drill holes for a total metrage of 794.99 metres. A small helicopter from Tiaga Helicopters of Winnipeg was use to transport men and light equipment and a large helicopter from Custom Helicopters of Winnipeg was used for diamond drill moves. Nopiming Lodge in Manitoba was used as a camp site and workmen were ferried back and forth by helicopter from the camp in Manitoba to the Pen property on a daily basis.
Results of Work Done
All of the diamond drill holes were drilled on the north showing and the location of these diamond drill holes is shown on figure 4. The diamond drill logs and assays are given in the appendix. Figures 5, 6, 7, and 8 are cross section plots of the diamond drill holes. A summary of significant results is listed below in table 3.

The highest copper assay in the diamond drill core is 3.30(7o Cu over 0.15 metres in diamond drill hole Pen-1. Diamond drill hole Pen-3 intersected 3.11 07o Cu over 1.00 metres.
Gold, silver and copper were assayed for in all samples taken from the diamond drill core. In diamond drill hole Pen -l, nickel and molybdenum were assayed for. In diamond drill hole Pen -2 and Pen -3, molybdenum was assayed for. In diamond drill hole Pen -4 cobalt was assayed for. The best gold assay is in diamond drill Pen -l which intersected 0.011 ounces per ton gold over a width of 0.20 metres. The best silver assay is from diamond drill hole 0.34 ounces per ton over a width of 0.15 metres. The best Nickel assay in Pen -l is Q.08% Ni over 0.15 metres. The best molybdenum assay is in diamond drill hole Pen -l which intersected G.18% Mo over 0.15 metres. The best cobalt assay in diamond drill Pen -4 is Q.08% Co over 1.00 metres.
Conclusions and Recommendations
The property contains copper and minor molybdenum mineralization, however there is no significant gold, silver, nickel or cobalt mineralization associated with this showing. The copper mineralization is traced using diamond drilling to vertical depth of 98 metres and the zone is open at depth. The casing was left in all of the diamond drill holes therefore a downhole pulse electromagnetic survey could give data that would indicate were the best mineralization is located in three dimensional space. More prospecting is required in the area of the north showing.
