Page 1 ROUTE INITIATION AND SIGNAL CLEARANCE FOR BRITISH RRI

(SYSTEM-II)

H O M E / S T A R T E R S I G N A L/S L O T S:

1. Keep all the points against the route.

2. Operate signal knob to reverse.

3. LR Picks up.

4. All ACRs, BCRs Picks up (Trailing points) and all Roads LZRs / RZRs picks up.

5. If Route button is pressed, UR picks up.

6. OCR Picks up.

7. ANR/BNR (OR) RR picks up for all points in the Route and points are thrown to the required position.

8. Un-wanted Road LZRs/RZRs drop and required Road ZR remains picks up condition.

9. For Isolation point ZNR picks up and Isolation point is thrown to Normal position.

10. Points in the overlap are thrown by either OCR or RUR/LUR of alternate overlap selecting Route button.

11. Observe all the points are thrown to the required position.

12. NWKR/RWKR picks up then NWKSR/RWKSR picks up.

13. UCR Picks up.

14. Picking up of UCRs drops ASRs, TRZR/TLZR.

15. Route locked indication appears on the panel.

16. Concerned OHR drops.

17. With Crank handle IN, LCPR UP TPRs up HR picks up for Main line.

18. For loop line, UGR picks up then UGPR picks up in Location and Route lamps lit

19. UECR picks up in location and UECPR picks up in Relay Room, Route indication appears on the Panel and then HR picks up.

20. In location, HPR Picks up and HECR picks up.

21. In Relay Room, HECPR picks up HG indication appears on the panel.

22. Put back the signal knob to Normal.

23. JSLR Picks up JKE appears.

Page 2 24. After the time lapse, NJPR1 picks up and NJPR picks up then ASR picks up

and TRSR/TLSR, TRZR/TLZR also picks up.

25. After ASR picks up Route Locked Indication disappears on the panel.

26. Picking UP of ASRs drops JSLR, NJPR1 and NJPR then counter Registers one number increase.

27. For TRSR/TLSR –

i) RZR/LZRs have to pick UP through sequential operation of Track circuit or JSLR picks up.

ii) If the signal is having approach track circuit (i.e. approach locking) then SR1 up, SR up and then RZR/LZR picks up.

Take of Signal Once again.

Operate Track circuit sequentially both for Light Engine as well as Full length train and check whether

i) All TPZRs, TSSLRs pick UP correctly.

ii) Sectional Route Release takes place.

The above testing is to be done for all Home signals, Starters and slot to ‘A’, ‘B’ Cabins.

For Inter starter No.59A or 60A, slot from ‘A’ or ‘B’ cabin is also to be obtained before initiating route.

C A L L I N G O N S I G N A L:

Similar to Home/Starter Signals/Slots except that after UCR Picks up JKE appears and after 60 seconds HR picks up then counter registers next higher number.

LAST STOP SIGNAL:

Obtain Line clear (through simulation) turn LSS knob to Reverse and press the Route button.

UR picks up then HR picks up and in Location HPR picks up. DG lamp lit then DECR picks up.

DECPR picks up in Relay Room and DG indication appears on the panel.

1. Keep all the points against the route.

2. Operate signal knob to reverse.

3. LR Picks up.

4. All ACRs, BCRs Picks up (Trailing points) and all Roads LZRs / RZRs picks up.

5. If Route button is pressed UR picks up.

6. ANR/BNR or RR picks up for all points in the Route and unwanted Road LZR/RZRs dropped.

7. Observe all points are thrown to the required position.

8. NWKR/RWKR picks up then NWKSR/RWKSR also picks up.

9. UCR Picks up.

10. Picking up of UCR, drops ASR, TRSR/TLSR & TRSHZR/TLSHZR.

11. Route locked indication appears on the panel.

12. With crank handle IN and TPRs up HR picks up.

13. In location HPR picks up then HECR also picks up. For LED, HECR picks up when `OFF’ aspect & common aspect are lit.

14. HECPR picks up in Relay Room.

15. ‘OFF’ Aspect indication appears on the Panel and for triple pole lamp with CECPR UP. Common Bulb indication will also appear on the Panel.

16. Cancel the Shunt Signal by putting back the signal knob to Normal.

i) With approach Track clear, Route will cancel immediately (No change in the Counter Number)

ii) If the approach track is occupied OR if dead approach locking is available, after putting back the knob normal JSLR picks up then JKE indication appears.

After 60 seconds ASR picks up TRSR/TLSR, TRSHZR/TLSHZR also picks up. Counter registers next higher number then Route locked indication disappears.

For TRSR/TLSR –

iii) RZR/LZRs have to pick UP through sequential operation of Track circuit or JSLR UP.

iv) If the signal is having approach track circuit (i.e. approach locking) then SR1 UP SR picks up and then RZR/LZR picks up.

17. Check the Route releasing circuit by sequentially dropping and picking up Track circuit.

i) For Light Engine,

ii) Longer formation..

18. Special throw of points if any, is to be checked.
